A local market that supplies vegetables, cereals, house hold goods & appliances, school uniform's, baggage & luggage goods, blankets, cloths both traditional and modern, handcrafts, industrial goods, utensils, plastic materials, barrels, bottles and kitchin wares. A good variety of gift items are in good supply.

Traditional market, spices, food, clothing, and textiles. If you are a tourist they will charge you more, if you can’t take a local with you, you will have to negotiate. Spices are awesome!

It's a working market for locals. Can buy a few local ceramics and spices but coffee beans are not toasted

Good place for finding pretty much everything local and not only. Spices, clothes souvenirs... this place has everything at very good prices. Do bargain a bit but in a respectful manner; and better if you go with someone who can do the translation for you. It will be challenging if you go alone.

This place makes beautiful hand crafted shoes, bags, and art work. The owners are very young people and it's inspiring to see such display of talent and skill. If you are looking for a unique gift for someone special this place is perfect and their prices and customer service is great. They also play a variety of African music from Kenya, Tanzania,Nigeria, Ethiopia and many more countries, making shopping more fun! The place is close to the airport and it's one building next to Tomoca, which is one of the famous coffee houses in Ethiopia.

A fantastic store stocked to the brim with the quality handiwork of local designers, artisans and artists. If you're looking to buy quality leather & textile products or if you're looking for handmade lifestyle and home wear all made in Ethiopia, Sabegn is definitely a place worth checking out. The customer service is on point too. Definitely coming again :D

A very chill place to go out with a bunch of friends. It is within a store of handmade things (which are beautiful). At the cafe, you can satisfy yourself with an amazing egg roll for just 80 Birr (which is a steal). Not too fancy but just real cool to hang out in the evening. Closes at 8 PM.

The leather products and traditional crafts here were so beautiful. But I'm sorry for the lack of masculine items. You should also visit the cafe next to the store.

One of the best places to visit in Addis Ababa. I love it and love everything about the way they display things and the level of the professionalism and the friendliness you will feel the moment you enter. If you want to buy good hand made leather products or local souvenirs, art crafts, traditional textiles this is the place you dont want to miss. They have very nice coffee shop and you can drink something while you shop or look around to the beautiful pieces of art on the walls.

The market has variety of cultural and traditional items, but there is no parking place to access the market especially with car. The traffic controllers are so rude though that rather than guiding the traffic they are all try to penalize you and take money..😌😒

  • 5/5 Silvan A. 1 year ago on Google
beside merkato, this is one of my favourite market in addis abeba. enjoy the busyness of this place, where you can buy the daily needs but also a lot of cultural products (ethiopian clothes, pottery, scarfs, fabrics etc). make sure you pass the spice and the pottery section! … and be aware of thieves ;-)
