Recently my husband, his friend and her daughter had an extremely disheartening experience at The Old Bridge, Grenoble, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment: their visit was marred by an incident of discrimination based on race. Upon arrival, my husband and his friends, who are both Indian, were denied a table by the hostess. Shockingly, it became evident that their denial was solely based on their ethnicity and the color of their skin. This discriminatory treatment left them feeling humiliated and angry. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, particularly in the hospitality industry where the goal should be to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all patrons. It is deeply distressing to think that in this day and age, some individuals continue to hold prejudiced views that lead to such unacceptable behavior. Denying service to someone based on their skin color is not only morally wrong but also goes against the principles of inclusivity and diversity that should be upheld in our society. It is my hope that The Old Bridge takes immediate and appropriate action to address this incident and implement strict policies against any form of discrimination within their establishment. Additionally, sensitivity training and education for their staff would be beneficial to ensure that such incidents are never repeated. In conclusion, based on their experience, we cannot recommend The Old Bridge. Discrimination has no place in our society, and it should not be tolerated or supported in any form, particularly when it comes to choosing where to dine.

The location is great but that's about all this pub has got going for it as it stands right now. The beer selection is OK but nothing special and prices are too high even for the area especially when none of our pints reached the pint line, all of them being significantly below 50cl. Service is the first big issue, it is not friendly nor very professional. We got moved to another table as they were closing part of the bar for clean-up, which is absolutely fine, but we weren't asked very nicely and we had to move to a table where instead of music we got to listen to BFMTV while staff was watching, not what you want to see in a pub when trying to have a conversation. It is then, while trying to have a conversation anyway, that a member of staff (or the owner, I'm not sure) decided that it was OK to tell us not to talk about certain topics such as politics because people could get angry at us or something. As far as I'm aware clients can still choose what they want to talk about and as long as it is a cordial and polite conversation it is no-one else's business. This place needs to change because it is a shame to waste a location with such potential. I won't be returning until significant changes are made.

Nice view but 7.20 for a Guinness and the bartender didn't leave it to settle 🙄

Poor service. Worst hot chocolate ever. They didn't come to us (group of 6) for over 20 mins, we had to flag the waiter. 😠 They didn't accept and accommodate us paying separately. The drinks were lousy too. 🤢

A big disappointment! Unpleasant welcome! Order of 2 chocolates to warm up. The waitress brings us 2 coffee cups of tasteless chocolate at €3.50 each! The Old Bridge doesn't even deserve one star. I strongly disadvise this place!(

It would be better if they served bar food but I really like the ambience of their outdoor seating.

The barkeeper is very nice, good music, great location. He has a genuine interest in the patrons and offers a wide selection of drinks. Spotlessly clean, with great outdoor seating. As a tourists you feel like you are part of the community almost like a French version of the tv show 'Cheers' but better.

😠 So it's a shame but I would have appreciated putting the 5 stars except that it is too much, let me explain: we received a cut of squid rings at our table, cheering the waiter we thought of a gift. Without dispute we tasted this offer that was offered to us until we were told that we had to pay it...
