Free museum. History of the city within. Roman to medieval ruins in the basement, which is not for the cluster phobic prone because the space is dark and low. Upstairs is bright and spacious with a great rhythm of written informational posters and actual treasures from the past. We took our time so 2 hours, but could be done faster. Everything is in French so maybe bring a dictionary.

Exceptional collection of Roman artefacts from early Christian times. These were located at the site of the museum during more recent constriction. Incredible display beneath the museum that has been beautifully presented. The temporary photographic display from talented and daring Tairraz family is not to missed. Recording early days of alpine climbing in the nearby Mt Blanc region was the highlight of the visit.

(Translated by Google) A municipal garden is always pretty, but in addition when it is in relief, we touch the sublime. Always well flowered, we find the first flowers of the year as the last. Beautiful sculptures punctuate the course but the highlight of the show remains the constantly changing view of the city of Grenoble. A walk in this maze of path is an endless pleasure.

Fascinating with plenty of old everyday items and paintings of Grenoble in the 18th-19th centuries. As it's Europe, you do get your fair share of ancient earthen pots and spearheads.

(Translated by Google) Interesting museum to visit, depending on the part you choose. The basement, witness to the Old Bishop's Palace, is beautiful but poorly arranged: why put a fence on the ground? It is destabilizing, especially when one suffers from acrophobia ... At least warn at the entrance. To do all the same, for the historical side. The second historical part is very well done, the evolution is clear and easy to follow! Finally, the current temporary exhibition (Éric Alibert) is quite simply sublime.

(Translated by Google) Elegant and attractive museography while being educational. The places are pleasant, but can present difficulties for people with reduced mobility, except between the ground floor and the basement (towards the old baptistery). The exhibitions are of high quality. The 2018 exhibition (for the celebrations of the year of Japan) on Japanese prints was remarkable. The catalog of this exhibition, despite the reprints, has been torn off and is no longer available, too bad. The shop has various books often of regional interest and very interesting. In this, it differs from the shops more or less managed by the RMN, Réunion des Musées Nationaux, which present a standardized offer. Free admission for all is an additional attraction which allows for more visits. Likewise, the wide opening hours are an additional incentive. The staff are outgoing, courteous and involved.

Efficient and easy service of 'pods' to the top of the hill although I'm aware there is a path. I found these a bit scary but the view was magnificent so I would recommend going upon a clear day. There was a restaurant and snack shop at the top as well as other activities. All levels are wheelchair accessible I believe thanks to the lift.

Nice park on the beginning of one of the paths to the Bastille. It has a lot of areas for kids to play and intersecting paths that make it a quite interesting place to explore. The climb can get pretty steep at some points, therefore wheelchairs and strollers are not recommended. The views are pretty and there is a lot to photograph.

It’s a great museum in wonderful historical building. There is a Roman ruin in the basement that was discovered when they were building the tram lines. You can see the room where they did baptisms and all the artifacts that were found there. The lead pipe that used to bring water to the baptistery is still visible in the ruins. All the other exhibits, on the upper floors, are really well organized and interesting. There’s prehistoric artifacts, Roman weapons, paintings and other interesting exhibitions. All the signs and descriptions are in French, but you can use a translate app if you need to. Also it’s free!
