30 minute hike from the Bastille with a nice view over Grenoble. The information boards are unfortunatly only in French.

(Translated by Google) Established on a sumptuous site, the memorial of the mountain troops faces Grenoble. Well, it is true that having done my military service in the 159th Alpine Infantry Regiment the place evokes for me many memories ... Of mountains obviously! The monument itself is weird, it leaves an impression of not finished, except from a certain angle where it really inspires respect (see photo) (Original) Implanté sur un site somptueux, le mémorial des troupes de montagne fait face à Grenoble.

(Translated by Google) An excellent end-of-ascent reward, the view from the memorial! From the Bastille, several paths lead there, you get there quickly and yet you have the impression of being twice as high as at the Bastille, it's really worth it. The memorial itself is magnificent, a beautiful place of contemplation respected by hikers, tourists and lovers of panoramas. With more or less difficult access from La Tronche to the Porte de France, we do not regret the path once at the top!

Great views of Grenoble. You may arrive by car or by cable car. I would recommend the second one. Also good for a picnic

There is the nice view over the city of Grenoble from there. From parking lot near Fort de la Bastille it is around 30 minutes walk uphill. Only downside is the map at the memorial which is no longer readable.

Nice place to go if you're already visiting Bastille. There's a lot of history to learn about when it comes to the mountain troupes. The museum is not too big and each visitor gets a headset that gives you a tour through the rooms. The entrance fee is really cheap and if you're a student it can be as low as 1.50€. Totally worth it!

(Translated by Google) Even a more beautiful view than the Bastille, we are more calm even if you have to do a little more walk!

(Translated by Google) Located above the fort of the Bastille, you have to climb a little twenty minutes to get to the memorial. It does not seem to go up against! Overlooking Grenoble there is a breathtaking view from the top! Sometimes taken in the clouds you can take magic pictures of the valley.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful place which overlooks Grenoble, which cultivates the memory and makes discover or rediscover the importance of the mountain troops and the 150,000 dead soldiers. A steep path to access it or a gentler path.
