Renzo Gracie Fort Lauderdale is an incredible academy. I have trained all over the world and their instruction is top notch. They are so welcoming and everyone I met there was respectful, friendly and tough! My friend and I were in town for Eagle FC in Miami and we trained with them for a week while staying here, it was an amazing experience and I HIGHLY recommend checking them out whether you’re a beginner or a black belt. Professor Juan and their other instructors an example of how a school should be!

People there are very respectful and are always willing to share what they know and help you practice moves you want to learn. Entire place is always clean (mats, bathroom, floor etc). Overall, great team to train with!

I was working in FLL and schedule opened up just enough that I could fit in a class. I sent out a couple of last minute inquiries and Professor Juan responded with both a phone call and a text inviting me to join them. Normally I would say something about "high degree of customer service", but when someone seems to be a good person, customer service is just an outgrowth of personality. I really liked the vibe of the academy. Bonus, I was greeted by a really cool French Bulldog.

If you ever want to try BJJ, this is the place. My wife and I decided for our son to do Jiu Jitsu, and after seeing him do so well in a month, my wife and I decided to join, and it has been a year since we started, and not only are we so thankful for our achievements and improvements. I highly recommend this academy because of the level of respect and appreciation for all the members that train here; everyone is so welcoming and happy to see you succeed. We are grateful to Juan Rodriguez for being our professor and friend and treating us as family.

I’ve been training at this gym for almost a year and a half and it’s been a transformative experience for me. Everyone is really welcoming. The culture is inviting and fun. I've trained at a few different gyms through, while traveling, and I've never run into a place that gives off the same vibes as this place. They've really worked to create a place where everyone feels like they belong even when it's your first time walking through their door.

I was in town for a conference for a couple of days and some colleagues and I asked if we could drop in for a class. So happy we did. Professor Juan was excellent. His instruction was very clear and helpful. The rest of the folks were welcoming and very helpful as well. Great community and culture — everyone looking to be better and make others better. Can’t wait for next year’s conference in Ft. Lauderdale to head back.

I love my Renzo Gracie Fam!!! I started Jiu Jitsu over 2 years ago, never having done any kind of martial art in my life, and was immediately made to feel safe and supported. Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and patient. Especially as a woman in a primarily male sport I was nervous to start, but Renzo Gracie FTL has the absolute best people and I have learned SO much. I started training jiujitsu about 9 months ago at Renzo Gracie Fort Lauderdale and I love this school. At first, I was a little intimidated by the idea of starting a new martial art at the age of 35. However, Professor Juan and Coach Mark as well as all of the upper belts at this academy have been beyond welcoming and helpful ever since I started. The gym itself is super clean, the people who train here are very friendly and it really makes you feel like you’re part of a family. I’m learning a lot, getting in a great workout, and making new friends. Very glad I found this academy and I would recommend this school to anyone looking to start or continue the practice of BJJ.

I went to the 6am class on 3/13/23 & i had the BEST experience. Mark was very helpful & the environment was great. I learned a lot and the team was very credible. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

Visiting from Northern Virginia area, there are many gyms around Florida area but wanted to check this place out. I had a great experience at Renzo Gracie BJJ. Went to one of their classes and a open mat. Everything felt clean. Everyone was very welcoming. GREAT ROLLS! all types of belt colors. I weigh 135lbs 5ft 6in I wish I can see more people my size; a lot of bigger guys in this gym but there were a few guys my size, but didn’t see so much :/ Felt like I progressed; it was enough to push myself over my limits and come out feeling great. Loved it! Great JJ. Great representation of the BJJ culture/community:) The coach is dope too!

I am from Rochester, NY and was visiting for a week with my wife for our anniversary. Wanted to find a good gym to go to for some training while here. Renzo Ft. Lauderdale was EXCELLENT. Owner was responsive via text and email and his instructors and students were welcoming and great to work with. This place treats you like family. My sons train here and I drop in for training when I'm in town. Clean facility, very good instruction with a variety of classes (gi, no-gi, leg lock class, wrestling, striking) and amazing people. If you're new to jiu jitsu, give this a try. If you're an OG and looking for a new home, give this a try. There is something for everyone.

I blindly walked into this place and was met with nothing but awesome humans. I have trained in many places and the drilling here is top of the class. Overall really enjoyed my month visit and look forward to returning in future. Amazing gym to train at!!! Visited in early December last year and Juan is a really welcoming, professional, fun and intelligent Professor. All the students were pretty much the same. Overall a great bunch of people to roll with and learn from : ) The last night I was there before heading home to Canada I was told that this is my home and I'm family now. Perfect example of how jiu jitsu builds community and how an academy set up on the right principles can really thrive. The facility is clean and well set up. I will definitely come back some day and would highly recommend you visit or train here full-time : ) Big thanks to the crew for an amazing vacation training experience!!!

I train at Renzo Gracie in Fort Lauderdale and I absolutely love it!!!! It's exactly what I need in my life. Juan runs a great school. His classes are very technical and the jiu-jitsu is superbly taught and explained. Every instructor that teaches there is excellent. It's a Jiu-jitsu school, but you get the complete package with gi, no gi, wrestling, striking, conditioning, and unlimited open mat time in which you can spar or work on drilling techniques. The schedule works for everyone..from 6A.M. till late in the evenings. I love it!!!

My dad and I went here while we we were on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale and had an excellent experience. The atmosphere was a great place to train. Will be coming back whenever we have the opportunity to come back down.

I’ve been training at an academy back in my hometown for over 2 years. It was really hard to start over and find a new place to train in south Florida. My plan was to come down and try a few different places and see what was a good fit. I ended up at Renzo Gracie Fort Lauderdale and realized that this was my new home.
