I first experienced this restaurant in Irving so, once I saw there was a location in Frisco I had to visit to get more Monica pasta to go. This location is so much bigger and I said that to the lady at the bar which was a very nice lady named Tia. She informed me that this was the original location. I came back to dine in because of Tia and to my surprise she was my waitress for the day. Again, such a sweet lady, she was very knowledgeable about the menu, she was warm, and very welcoming. The atmosphere is like home. I will be back. Thanks again.

I can't believe the service or the food at this place. First off, the waitress started off nice, then all of a sudden she was mean and seemed annoyed. I ordered a side salad and all it was was a plate full of lettuce and ONE tomatoe. We then ordered the boil with crab and shrimp and it was so freaking spicy that we couldn't even eat it (and I eat and love spicy foods). It was suppose to come with corn and potatoes...no corn was in the boil and I asked about the corn and the waitress said that they were out of corn so they gave us extra potatoes...then charged me for extra potatoes and corn!! How does that work?? We asked for extra butter because the boil had NO juice it in. It was bone dry... but super spicy (and they charged us for the extra butter as well)!! We ordered two cups of beans and rice, fried pickles and asparagus, and ALL OF it was cold!!! I spoke with the manager and took off the charge for the potatoes and corn. I have no problem paying for good food and good service, but we didn't get either one at The Green Gator in Frisco. Oh and the music/band was so loud that we were having to yell at each other across the table!! As a restaurant owner myself everything about this experience for me was unacceptable!

I recently dined at The Green Gator in Frisco for lunch. The pub ambiance was okay slightly dark inside. The service was decent, especially considering it was a lunch rush. I opted for the catfish, shrimp, and fries combo. While the meal was served hot and well-fried, I couldn't help but feel that the catfish could have been something other than catfish. Seemed more like sway, than catfish. It left me wishing for a different flavor profile. The highlight was the speed of service, which ensured I could enjoy my lunch without feeling rushed. Overall, a satisfactory experience. This restaurant for me was a one-and-done.

I’m giving the location 3 stars because the food was great, but the service was awful. I ordered online for pickup and when I entered the restaurant, I stood behind another party waiting to be seated. A man at the host stand seated that group and instead of coming back to greet me and asking if I need help, he walked past me as if I were invisible. I proceeded to go to the bar and wait for the bartender to acknowledge me. I told her I had a to go order and instead of asking me any details about my order or offering to check on the status, she told me to go back to the host stand a wait and someone would bring it out. I went back to the host stand and waited. Another party walked in and the same male host came back and acknowledged the party that just came in and ignored me. Even after the party said “she was here first…” After seating them, the male host asks what I needed and when I said, “To go order” I was told again, “someone else will come help you with go to orders…” As I was about to cancel and leave, the to go person finally came with my order. The food was great but there was ZERO customer service. No one welcomed me in or said thank you for waiting or even acknowledged me. For those reasons, I won’t be returning.

The patio area was a really nice area to have a relaxing brunch before my flight. The restaurant has a laid back bar/ lounge vibe. The waitstaff was a little sluggish initially, but by the end of the meal, the waiter was on point. The carafe of mimosa was perfect. The food was fresh and prepared nicely. I really enjoyed the chicken breast that came with the waffle because it was butterflied beautifully. The charbroiled oysters needed to be on the grill about another 5 minutes, and they would've been perfect. The fried pickles weren't as hot as I like them, but the flavor was there. My companions had the fried fish and soft shell crab. She said the panko was a different, but delightful texture on the crab. The fish was described as decent. All and all, I'd go back.

Via DoorDash, I ordered the Pasta Monica and Grilled Salmon entree. Both were exceptional! One thing that I looked for in all my food dishes is flavor. Both were seasoned well!

Tomato paste does not belong in jambalaya. Taste like I’m eating a bottle of ketchup. Luckily bought a piece of chicken so I was able to eat something. The place had no people in there, very slow/dead.

Nice location with quick service. Menu has New Orleans food items like gumbo, shrimp and the poboys are a decent size. I enjoyed their Cobb salad also. Prices are reasonable and average for Frisco area. Cocktails were very good and reasonably priced. Our server, Sean, was quick, polite and informative on menu and specials. He even made sure our drinks were refilled throughout stay. Has stage for live entertainment. Was told Friday nights are best nights to enjoy live entertainment but crowded on that day. Nice for business meetings, friends, families, small and large groups or eating solo. Had outside area also when weather is nice. ENJOY. Due to inflation portions are smaller. Just be informed.

Waiter was attentive and quick to serve us. The sampler was well seasoned and cooked well for the most part. I am not an oyster fan; it was too chewy for me. The sausage was ok. Tasted a little dry. Next time I will order bread on the side and not in the dish. The shrimp is fresh, nice sized and cooked well. I love Gouda grits and these were delicious! My friends enjoyed the chicken and waffles as well as the sampler. The dipping sauce had a nice flavor as well. I can tell if the Cowboys were playing it would be packed. Covered outdoor seating is an option as well. Nice casual atmosphere.

We ordered from Green Gator Frisco by Doordash. Food arrived hot and everything was there as ordered. The order was a 4 piece catfish dinner, 2 Jambalaya, a shrimp creole and appetizers were crab stuffed jalapeños and hushpuppies. The catfish was tasty but the fillets were super small epically with the 25 dollar price tag for the plate. Jambalya was soupy and lacked flavor. Shrimp creole was also runny and watered down. Red beans and rice was good and spicy. Crab filled japalenos were mushy inside and filled with lots of fillers and a little crab meat. Overall it was not up to par for the price.

Don't go for brunch. They are new to the brunch game and no one came to see us and get us drinks for 15 minutes. There was no one in the restaurant on a Sunday at 12noon. The host watched us sit and wait and never alerted the server. When I told the manager he seemed indifferent and said your right. I eat there 2x a week in the evening and if my regular server is not there then I walk out because the service is so bad. Don't waste your time. We went to blue goose. No wait. Great body Mary!

I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the fried catfish. The main items were hot but our sides were not. We requested a hot set of sides. While waiting for the sides, our waitress steps behind the bar and blows her nose. We waited to see if she would wash her hands. Unfortunately and to my surprise she did NOT. She touches a few things behind the bar and then meets a team member that is bringing out our food. We addressed it with her. She did not apologize and we asked for the manager. The manager apologized and discounted our meal🙄. I hate I had this experience bc the food was good. But the fact that she blew her nose in the open, she didn't wash her hands AND no one said anything to her tells me this is normal.

Came here a few years back for the shrimp pasta, came back and got the same thing. Wasn’t disappointed. Very nice and friendly staff. Cooks went above and beyond with this dish. I got it blackened. Don’t forget dessert! N’awlins flavor in the big D.

When I walked in no one greeted me. I stood at the bar for atleast a couple of minutes before I was asked if I needed something. It was a Saturday at 730, it was pretty dead on there. As someone who frequents NOLA, this restaurant may be inspired by Nola style food but it’s far from real Cajun. $30 for charbroiled oysters that were very small and lacking in sauce and ingredients. It just looks thrown together, there was barely any butter on the oysters let alone in the pan. The cheese was still soft and didn’t get that charbroiled crunch. The flavor was decent, there just wasn’t a lot of it. We also got the crab cakes, they are filled with a lot of stuffing that doesn’t include crab. The kids fried shrimp was the best tasting item we got. Seasoned perfectly. The red beans and rice were good, nothing special. I was very disappointed. I spent $74 on the actual food.

The Oysters were good..the drinks were average...the staff catered to the usual patrons..I won't be back. Just an update on the experience. My bill was $150, paid. A waitress was upset that a customer walked out on a bill for 7.47, I paid it for her. Then I get a notification that they charged me $407.47 on top of the $150. I was the only one on my tab. I closed my tab out at $150! I've reached out to the establishment and was told that the manager would look into it and I have not heard from her. I definitely don't recommend this establishment that has no issues with stealing from a Veteran.

A group of us (8) came Friday afternoon for a late lunch. The food is always good, but I want to acknowledge the waiter who was all alone. He did a wonderful job making all the tables feel special. I'm not sure if the other MANY tables saw he was alone but might not have noticed because of how well he was with them all. Still made time to refill our drinks and see if we needed anything else. Great 👍 Job.

In my happy place. As a New Orleanian, this is by far the BEST bread pudding in DFW. Great good. Great drinks. Great place. I’ve been to a lot of New Orleans type restaurants in DFW. Gators is as close as it gets. The next time I come I’ll share the rest of the menu. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

I've been to this establishment a few times. It's hard to find some good fish in the Collin county area, and traveling all the way to dallas sometimes is to much. So the seafood here isn't bad. The hush puppies and fries are my favorites though. I must say though the dessert is not good at all. I tried the chocolate cake. Definitely wasn't up to par. last night I decided to give the bread pudding and cheesecake a try. The cheesecake was absolutely disgusting. I'll just stick to the seafood and fries.

The exceptional service, delicious food, delightful outdoor seating, and the fantastic music bingo game make this place an absolute gem that keeps me coming back for more! I am absolutely in love with everything about this establishment. Highly recommended!

We ordered food for delivery and everything was great! We had jambalaya, blackened chicken poboy, pasta Monica, red beans and rice, and BBQ shrimp! Out of four people, we all thought it was great. We will definitely order from here again or just eat there.

We went on Fat Tuesday, so taking that into consideration. The kitchen service was fast and convenient. The menu was very easy to read. The crew members were friendly, helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable as they could be for such a night. The business was very clean. The food was accurate, hot and delicious. I would have liked more rice and a little thicker Etouffee. It was a very good experience. I will return.

Service was good, prices were fair, gator appetizer was very tasty and well seasoned. We also had fun playing bingo here (Tuesdays I believe). Catfish and oysters were very good too; I will be coming back here

We were with a fairly large group Saturday evening, so our server seemed to need extra help to take care of that many, but didn't get it until an hour later. The biggest issue was the amount of time it took to get anything. It took a really long time to just get water. The desserts were delivered first and sat there for a long time while we all waited for the meal to be delivered. The appetizers weren't delivered before the rest of the food. The hush puppies were very dry and for some reason didn't come with any sauce. I didn't ask for any as everything was taking such a long time to come out, if seemed pointless. Some people in our group who ordered shrimp and fried gator waited almost an hour and a half. The food was just ok. The gumbo was almost too thick. Overall, the atmosphere was kind of cool, but I doubt we will eat here again.

Was able to step out tonight and relax, while the kids enjoyed the fair with friends. We had the best service. Casey was so attentive and anticipated our every need. It was busy, and the kitchen was super pressed, but we still got our food quickly, and the drinks were delicious. We ate on the patio, because the weather was perfect! I had the cucumber mule and it was so yummy! If you get the chance to go visit, ask for Casey and you won’t be disappointed!

I order the crab stuffed mushrooms ion Monday. They were the worse. No crab, stuffed with bread and mushroom. The pasta was disgusting and they don’t serve it with bread. I received a call from the Jay who handle all social media comments. He called me on Monday and promised me he would investigate and call me on Tuesday, it’s Wednesday night, no call, no voicemail, no text. They truly need to work on their food, but customers service is also a big issue, they are not a restaurant of their word. Your word is everything no matter how bad you food is, and it’s bad. I don’t owe The Green Gator anything and they don’t owe me anything. This is NOT a creole restaurant. Don’t go here, it’s not worth it, there are several restaurants in the area that worthy of the Creole title, The Green Gator is not. Trust my review.

Good spot for Saturday brunch. Wasn’t packed at 11am, plenty of seating for large groups, and flavor was good on their dishes. I had the shrimp and grits brunch menu and it was the right amount of food, with flavor packed sauce and perfect grits.
