Itaipu is a place of history with a marvellous construction of dam. This dam was built by Brazil generating power for almost 75% is to Brazil and Paraguay. Though it was built by Brazil, the power generated is shared with Paraguay as a treaty exists between those two country since it was built more in Paraguay side of river and Paraguay allows Brazil to use this side of river as a payback for using their side.

We had an incredibly good tour here. The guides knew everything about everything, both technically and historically, and we were already in a group that asked a lot of questions. The power plant itself is very impressive. You can hardly imagine the dimensions. Everything here is huge. We went on the special tour, which I can recommend 100%.

Very nice. From the entrance, an open bus with explanation drives through the entire area with 3 stops for taking photos. Entry costs only 56 reals.

We took a guided tour of the Itaipu Power Plant and it is highly recommended. The size of this power plant and how much water goes through the turbines is impressive! We had difficulty booking the tickets online because we only had our European phone number, but after we wrote an email they booked the tickets for us and helped us very friendly. The entire staff was also very helpful on site. We had an English-speaking tour guide who clearly enjoyed his job and was really knowledgeable about the processes and technology. This visit is worth it!

The Special Tour is worth the expense. Buy tickets online to make sure you can get on the tour and they provided an English-speaking guide.

yesterday we had an incredible experience visiting Itaipu Binacional. In addition to watching the special dam lighting show. We had the experience of a special dinner at the Barrageiros restaurant, where we had the opportunity to hear the stories of those who participated in the work on the construction of the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world.

Very impressive structure and a good tour that took you to get a good look from many vantage points. Very well run and efficient. Tour didn't provide high levels of detailed information but there were informative (surprisingly so) displays at the base area and at some of the stops. Also there was (and hopefully will be in the future post Covid) a technical tour which I would presume would provide more information. Would definitely recommend
