Beautiful national park with very impressive views. Many and trekkings are do-able for not so experienced hikers in summer, though some walks and parts of walks require more technical skills and specific equipment such as crampons. In early june, many refuges are still closed, contrary to what some information leaflets say. I’d strongly suggest calling in advance if you want to be sure a refuge is open.

Mainly a ski resort but visited in summer. Amazing place if you have good walking legs. Scenery is awsome, especially from the mountain tops if reasonable fit to walk, or via multitude of cable cars.

Plenty of hikes and local people are friendly and welcoming. If you like nature and enjoy great views and good air...it's the ideal place to go

Very nice hiking paths which are accessible. You can easily hike up to the top of a mountain

Amazing place: lots of snow, great pistes for snowboards. Off-pist riding is also great (comparing with dolomites in Italy, Bansko in Bulgary and Andorra). Food is good in restaurants on the slopes, but the prices are high (the higher in the mountains the higher prices you have in caffes). Gondolas are closed at 17:30 and start at 8:00.

Beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous place - sunshine, blue skies, Alpine flowers everywhere and bubbling streams. Terrific for walking, mountain-biking and relaxation.

Great mountains for hiking and climbing, with wildlife and wild flowers, steep rock faces and glaciers, that can be surrounded in a 5-day trip linked by a god network of huts and a few coles around 2600 m in altitude.

I was here at the winter for skiing at tignes val claret, not for summer hiking, but is is a very beautiful area weach i have to come back to for tracking also... As a ski resorte it is simply perfect, not much to say more then that.

One of the largest, pristine French national parks with summits well over 3000m. No drone flights allowed. Bordering Italy it was home of the 1992 Olympic games with such ski resorts as Les Arcs, Méribel, Courchevel, Tignes and Val d'Isère. It is also home of magnificent baroque churches and chapels nested in beautiful mountain villages Summer mountaineering is marvelous with a plethora of wild animals and walks for all ages.

We did the 6 day tour with a 6 and a 12 year old, August 2018. This is a top trek, many glaciers, marmots, ibex, chamoix. Most hikers are French, huts gets busy but we booked 2 weeks before. Bring rain gear..
