Bar Pub Gay bar

😠 As a tourist, tonight, my friend and I were treated very poorly. The person in the front saw us and, right away, without question, denied us entrance. Probably because the idiot thought that we were straight, little did he know we were both gay. Globally we are supposed to be an inclusive community.... People often mention bartender, card, people, asked, drinks,

As a tourist, tonight, my friend and I were treated very poorly. The person in the front saw us and, right away, without question, denied us entrance. Probably because the idiot thought that we were straight, little did he know we were both gay. Globally we are supposed to be an inclusive community. That is how we make positive changes in the world. We ask for equality, but then we have disappointing places like this that do not allow the changes we need in the world to happen because of how bad they treat people.

Was having a great time. Then the bartender became very rude. Initially referred to my spouse as Hillary. Apparently a reference to Hillary Clinton. Then called him a fat American cow. I wasn’t sure what he said, so I asked him to repeat it and he did. I, unfortunately can’t remember the bartenders name. “ Big guy with dark hair.” I guess this bar is not welcoming to American tourist. Unfortunate as I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the guest. As I paid on the way out I asked if it was the norm to insult people from other countries. They just laughed. Could have been a language barrier. Would not go here if not a local. This experience really influenced my opinion of Frankfurt

My partner and I tried to visit this establishment on May 12th, 2019. The place looked very crowded with mostly all locals. As we tried to come inside we were stopped and told it was closed for a “private party”. This has happened at other bars around Germany. I don’t know if this is based on the color of our skin (we are Latinos, brown skin). This is very sad as we love to explore the local culture. Very disappointed to see this happen within the gay community.

I went to this pub during the afternoon and it was lovely. Then I went back at night. Guy at the door gave me a card to mark whatever I was going to consume during the time I was there. I ordered a beer and gave my card to the bartender. He said that I didn't give him the card. after that I went straight to the door to communicate what happened. I was asked to leave the bar. Absolutely insane. The bartender lost or forgot that I gave him the consumer card. Really really bad

Terrible, rude, aggressive bar men. Asked for a vodka and diet coke, was given two shot glasses of vodka and a bottle of diet coke. When I asked for a glass, to, you know, MIX THEM, bar man pretended to not know the word in English, but did know the word for "WHAT????" which he screamed at me, over, and over, and over. Stinking with smoke you can barely see. Ludicrous system of having your drinks all written down on a piece of paper which you need to pay for on the way out. Awful. Don't go.

This bar engages in predatory conduct. They force you to pay £40 if you loose your "card". They don't even mention what it is for when you go inside, how was I even supposed to know. Would not recommend.

At the entrance they give you a piece of paper and the bartender writes your drinks on it. I lost one of the two and they asked me for 40 euros due to loss !! Finally I found the paper and informed the master in the payment that I told the bartender to pass all my drinks on the second paper. He never asked the bartender !!! As a result, I pay double the amount!

Note to foreign tourists: This bar has a somewhat unusual system. On your first order you'll receive a small card on which all your drinks are added. You pay everything in one go when you are leaving. Keep this card tight, otherwise you're risking to be charged a hefty minimum spend. This has been my favourite bar in Frankfurt since the mid 90:s. More of a "kneipe" than a trendy bar. Always busy but probably not everybody's taste but definitely mine! 😉 Mixed ages and 99% men.

Definitely worth experiencing at least once. One of the better moments in Frankfurt. It's a strange vibe - something between the "pub by the station" (but an over-decorated one with lovely kytsch and everything: it brings the words "over" and "decorated" to shame :D ) and a gay dance bar... playing German Schlager music mostly. As I like this sort of "fist in the face" type of experience, I was mostly in an amused wonder. This is a party that does not take itself seriously. Peculiar but funny waiters, that make a Saturday evening a show by just watching them have fun. Familial atmosphere observed. Beer coming fast, despite the noise and humbug. One can feel a bit lost, if coming alone - even if the space is overcrowded. This is a definitely a one to visit preferably with friends. You will have something to talk about.

Best gay bar I have been to in Frankfurt. Always great music, and a very nice friendly down to earth vibe. Drinks are well priced too.

I walked in, the smoke was billowing, 3 people inside. I felt sorry for myself and left. To be fair, it was 4 pm. But I doubt this place ever gets hopping.

As the most gay bars/pubs in the area, they use a system to charge your drinks that is not always clear. It is already the 2nd time that they “put” one or two drinks more on the bill. And they only accept cash, no cards which is ridiculous ‘coz we are in 2019!!!!!!

What I liked • Great atmosphere • Great music What I did not like • Bar staff did not offer water because they will not make "money" • Door security tried to cheat the values on our cards

Music and atmosphere seemed great from outside, but it was over busy and we were unable to get in, stars lost due to attitude of the door staff

It’s a fine neighborhood bar. Laid back with a relaxed vibe. I rather be there when not busy, in order to find a place to sit.

Fun atmosphere but not cool to openly mock visitors asking about beer menu, especially when not busy.

I had a great time and can only recommend it thoroughly as a location of interest; if you’re an adventurous soul you should consider this

Gay bar, weird “tab” system - you have to get a bar tab (a piece of paper) when you enter and hold onto it and close it out when you leave. System is confusing and bartender yells at you in German if you don’t understand. Hah. Good vibes, good people but WARM bier 😔

Actually, a nice, cozy bar. The Style is a bit...screamish. Another * lost because it's a smoker bar, your clothes smell like s*it afterwards But Else, nice and cozy
