Having had Ethiopian food all around Germany, on arriving at Frankfurt and finding our way here was the beginning of a disappointing evening. Ignoring the fact that the ambiance is trying too hard to be authentic, which should have been a red flag enough, we ordered the vegetarian version of a dish for 3 people and sambusas. The sambusas were refried a bunch of times before they made it to our plates; insipid and texture-less. We have known Ethiopian food, especially the vegetarian food, to be sensational in textures, flavors and variety. As visible in the photo, the food here did not even succeed in pretending to be close to what is authentic! The njera was insipid and dry. There was no structural integrity in the vegetables and the lentils were trying too hard to hold on to being edible. Overall, a thorough disappointment! :(

Had big hopes after the Ethiopian restaurants i tried in the US. Here....i was served with not one, but 2 ultra burned sambusas and cold rice. Unfortunately I was hungry and didn't leave right away. My date ordered something different, but also wasn't impressed. Quite disappointed especially taking into account all of the good reviews. 1 star for the bad food and ruined dinner.

A wonderful end of the week! The waitress was friendly and attended us quickly, checked back upon us and the food was really (!) tasty and the ambiance welcoming. The money was worth every bite and I will definitely come back soon!

Adabina restaurant has the best kitfo and Mahebraw. It is very delicious I like it very much. The place is cultural. The service is nice staff, friendly & helpful. Try their Adabina kitfo & Mahebraw you would love it.

The food is very tasty and they offer more than enough. We had the vegetarian plate for 2, and when we finished the pancakes (the ones you use to eat the bean mixes) we were freely offered more of them. Also, service with a smile, though the place definitely suffered in terms of customers after corona. Do give it a try if you want to support them!

Incredibly tasty food. Amazing service. Outstanding comfortable environment. Best in Frankfurt. The spices are so satisfying. Great vegan options too as well as gluten free options. Food was like medicine. Gives you energy and make you feel good even after over eating. I couldn’t stop eating even when I was full. I love this place. If you don’t try it then you are missing out. It was beyond delicious. Reasonable prices as well so you really get your money’s worth.

Wonderful food and super friendly, helpful staff. I haven't eaten Ethiopian food for years and it was a welcome return. We shared a mixed plate for two which was diverse, flavourful and fresh. Oh, and the lentil soup was amazing. All accompanied by Ethiopian beer! Highly recommended!

Excellent food and very friendly staff. Can only recommend the mixed platter for two for 35EUR (total). They also have a selection of good Ethiopian beer. Will absolutely come back the next time I visit Frankfurt. The below shows the slaughtered plate. Food coma 2.0.

The place is so cosy, the interior is traditional Ethiopian. I big Thank you to the host who welcomed me so warm and explained to me about the food and how to eat it. It's always a pleasure to meet that kind of people! Not on the last place - the food is really delicious! I totally recommend visiting this restaurant!

Ich habe mich gefreut wieder mal äthiopisch essen zu gehen. Mir gefällt es, wenn Auswahl nicht groß ist, genau wie in dem Laden. Aber leider waren fast alle Speisen sehr ähnlich. Es gab keine Möglichkeit eine Platte selbst zusammenzustellen. Jedoch haben wir was passendes gefunden. Das war lecker. Gleichzeitig sehr durchschnittlich und quasi normal, obwohl die Preise ziemlich hoch sind. Bedienung ist super! Afrikanische Einrichtung :)

So good! They spoke English and German and were really good with food allergies. We cannot speak more highly of the quality of food and drink and how wonderful the staff was. Must try! Especially if you’ve never had Ethiopian food before, or even if you have!

Today i did visit that pretty restaurant... Because my 6 years old kid needed the toilet.... After the terrible owner of the kebab shop (alibaba) near them refused... At Adabina..... They were very kind and nice to us . And i had the chance to see the place from the inside.... It is a piece of art. I will definitely try their food and i would like to recommend visiting their restaurant ,👍

Very nice and tasty food. The traditional way of serving and eating is very impressive. Good location, 5 minutes from Konstablewache and 5 minutes from Main river. Price is also ok ok. Recommended if want to experience something different.

We ordered a mixed plate for two which included a variation of ethiopian dishes. There was more than enough to eat for two people and the food was delicious. A Big minus was that they charged three euros each for the injera bread that you are supposed to eat the food with. A bottle of water was also quite expensive with a price of five euros and the prices on their website are not the same as in the restaurant. FYI, they don’t have english menus in the restaurant.

The food was ok, unfortunately when we had a dinner there the heating was off, making the restaurant extremely cold and the dinner unpleasant. We hope that it was just an unlucky day, otherwise I recommend to visit the place only in summer

We a family of five drove to Adabina kitfo ethiopian restaurant based on other reviews and recommendations. We are highly satsfied. The food was very delicious. It is not a watered down versions. Food was made right. The ethiopian coffee was excellent. The owner was very kind,helpful and friendly. This place will be my go to ethiopian restaurant the next time I drive to Frankfurt.I highly recommend this place!!

Food is so so good. I love that we could eat with hands and was not given cutleries in the first place. We had the platter for two and it‘s sooo spicy. They even make one lentil dish not spicy for my baby to eat. My first time trying Ethiopian food and Injera and I‘m so happy. We had to pack the leftover and we even had it for supper and they packed it so nicely and it‘s still super tasty. It‘s nice to try something when we cannot travel and this place is a gem!

Very near to the city center, real ethiopian food that was very tasty. The staff was super nice and the overall experience was worth it. Price for quality was good, in summary we were very happy with the experience

Super lovely Ethiopian place. I love the decor and environment in the restaurant, it feels really cozy and authentic. The food is fantastic!! I really recommend this place with the only downside being that the service was a bit slow and not so smooth (so dont come here if you're in a hurry haha) but thats something that can be easily improved. I'll be back for sure !

Went with a bunch of friends very late at night and had a very lovely meal, everything very tasty and had a great evening. Owners were kind and gave us advice on what to order. A nice place to try something different and explore new cuisines!

Beautiful, traditional ethiopian restaurant. The food is fantastic and it is a wonderful experience to eat it using pancakes (for lack of knowingvthe correct word) instead of cutlery. We can warmly recommend it if you want great food in a nice atmosphere.

We waited for food to come for nearly 1 hour. We ordered vegetarian plate for 2 people. It was served late and cold and I think it was overpriced considering the taste and the amount. Sambusa was nearly burnt. I don't recommend it at all, total disappointment.

We had a really nice dinner at Abadina, the owners were really sweet and the food was very tasty! They have a lot of vegetarian options available but I’d recommend the vegetarian platter for 2 and the samosas - those were incredible! We were brought some chocolate cake for dessert - a nice attention to end the meal on a sweet note. Definitely worth another visit!

On a recent visit I found both the service and the food to be excellent! The young woman who served me was very friendly and helpful, and the flavors were exceptional. I will definitely visit Adabina again the next time I'm in Frankfurt.

A surprisingly high mark for a place that should not be rated over 4 : food ok but not very special, nice wine but served tepid, no atmosphere, desert area, only cash accepted... But staff helpful and pleasant.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Adabina! It’s a very cozy and welcoming place. The food and the decor make you feel like you're in Adis Ababa! Also, the restrooms are exceptionally clean and hygienic. Don't know how to eat with injera instead of fork and knife? No problem, your host will show you. This is an absolute gem, highly recommended!

We waited over an hour to get our food, which was at the end cold and not enough. Sambosa comes only 1 and burned. The prices also were higher for a € restaurant in my opinion. All in all annoying experience.

I really really enjoyed having dinner there! So far the most authentic Ethiopian food I have tried outside of Ethiopia. They have all sorts of traditional dishes and drinks and the people who work there are also very nice :)

Loved the food every thing was really amazing and the people are very hospitable and so friendly would go again for sure, the best food i ever had in Frankfurt, this city has usually not the best food and average is considered great, i really had low expectations but i was soooo wrong… recommed it for sure

It was an excellent first experience for me trying authentic Ethiopian food. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

We went there for late lunch and the Restaurant is cozy and very welcoming. The food was fire and straight on point. The service was great and we had the coffee ceremony afterwards which was a treat. Got to learn about the history of coffee and ask them for butter/salt coffee.

Nettes Personal und leckeres Essen. Die äthiopische Küche verwendet viele Gewürze. Man isst das Essen mit den Fingern, aber man kann sich auch Besteck geben lassen. Edit: Die Preise sind massiv explodiert und für ein bisschen Gemüsesauce mit Pfannkuchen und einem durchgeschnittenen Ei bezahlt man fast 100 Euro. Über die mit Kugelschreiber geschriebene “Rechnung” wollen wir gar nicht sprechen. Kein Wunder, dass kaum jemand das Restaurant besucht. So funktioniert es nicht. Bald wird der Laden dicht sein.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und sind auf der Suche nach einem authentischen äthiopischen Restaurant auf dieses Lokal gestoßen. Wir waren schon mehrmals äthiopisch essen u.a. auch in Afrika selber. Wir haben uns für eine gemischte Platte für 2 Personen entschieden und waren sehr begeistert. Der Inhaber war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die wenigen negativen Bewertungen können wir leider nicht nachvollziehen weil unsere Eindrücke das komplette Gegenteil waren. Wir wünschen dem Team von Adabina viel Erfolg. Macht weiter so.

This is a place of peace and good imagination for those who love and want to taste habesha Food. So wonderful service and tasty food. I love the Kitfo and coffee as well . I feel like I am in Home.

Hatte einen vegetarischen Teller für zwei Personen und den leckeren hausgemachten Tee. Würde ich in Frankfurt wohnen käme ich öfter. Schade, dass direkt vor dem Restaurant eine Baustelle ist. Stört nicht beim Essen, heißt halt leider nur kein Laufverkehr.
