An unpleasant disappointment. We booked dinner for the anniversary because the restaurant was advertised as a romantic place. The restaurant had the atmosphere of the village tavern. A small space fully packed with a noisy crowd is anything but romantic. The service was very much prolonged; we even had to wait for bread because they did not have it prepared?!? To pay with a credit card, we had to go to the bar. The food was average, the vine decent, and everything was overpriced for such a poor standard.

Rarely do I fall in love of a restaurant. It comes as a surprise, no big reviews from famous bloggers. Just a number on a list. It wasn't even our first choice. I had a reservation via Quandoo on maps, which actually didn't come through but we got the table anyway, and that was the only thing that wasn't good about the night. Here you are welcomed in a small local in a normal neighborhood, nothing more than a small, old-built room with about ten tables. You have to sit for a couple of minutes in order to get the place and let go of your prejudice. It is very personal, there is no "staff" there is just one waiter, a polite young man which gets what you order right everytime. Don't prepare yourself for tens of choices because you won't get them There are limited choices which vary from time to time, this time there were fish, steaks, one lamb and one chicken dish. Sometimes there is pasta and other stuff. I ordered a gin and Tonic which I normally only drink at home because I order more complex cocktails outside, but there weren't. However he got it just right, and got my attention. Since we were there for our anniversary we didn't focus on food so we just ordered the main dishes. I went for the lamb chops, a classical, and honestly, it is the first time in my life that the side overcame the meat. A side of yam purée that just stunned me and made me feel like Anton Ego in Ratatouille. Never will I enjoy a perfectly cooked rice side ever again. The chops themselves are just perfectly seasoned an cooked. The nice bonus is a perfect portion. The chicken pan with vegetables was also perfect. Since I couldn't leave it at that I went for a desert. Another heavenly dish called crème Catalan. A spanish specialty that preceded crème brûlée. I haven't thought that I'd enjoy a milk based sweet that much. It was the perfect finish after a meaty match. Our other choice of chocolate souffle would leave also guaranteed in a wow-state. The next time I write such a review would be cheating on this one.

9 Euros for a bottle of water ?! We asked for tap water and the server said she is not allowed to serve tap water, we have to buy a bottle. Then comes the bill: 9 Euros for tap water served in a bottle. The dishes were ok, good taste but very simple. A piece of fish with bell peppers. Nothing else in the plate.

You have never experienced happiness until you have visited BonVivant. So classic, unique and original. Customer service is beyond amazing. Food is to die for. I am crying from overwhelming happiness and joy.

Service staff was friendly and efficient. However, be patient and ready to wait. Food was quite good. Solid fare. No disappointments. Wine was awesome. Generous pours. Try the Primitivo by the glass, you’re going to love it

Super friendly and conscientious waiter. Alone with 15 people to serve and not skipping a beat. The food felt fresh and wholesome. It is heart-warming to see such dedicated owners slowly build a following. O wish them all the best and many friendly customers.

Went here to celebrate a special occasion after seeing all the stellar reviews. However I was deeply disappointed, the service is appallingly slow because there is just one person managing everything, the food is average at best (except for the calamari, that was actually tasty but the portion was very small for the price). Lamb chops were not seasoned at all and hard. Does not justify the cost at all and I simply don't understand the rave reviews.

We've been to this restaurant before and it was delicious. This time we booked a table again a week before and wanted to go today. Too bad when you come there and they tell you that they have no space. We said we reserved a table and they said, well the weather is bad and they have no space. Either we can sit outside (rain, 14 degrees, tables not even set) or we leave. The worst about it is we had called an hour before our reservation to push it back for 30 mins and they said, no problem. Latest then they must have told us they have no space for us, but they only said "okay" .. very disappointing and also no way to treat customers WITH a reservation. We assume the group of 8 people had just called last minute and they took their reservation - 8 pay more than four, I guess. Very poor treatment and a good reason NOT to come again when you then have to search for another restaurant anyway.

I really don't understand the rave reviews here. After reading that we went there expecting a nice dinner and what do we get just average food with the slowest ever service I have received in Frankfurt. The waiter was nice but he is the only one there and I don't understand the logic behind it! The food is definitely over priced. It was nothing to write home about. We had the Lamb cutlett, Hänschenpfanne and the Calimeritti. I would not recommend this place for the food.

Small quaint restaurant. The food was delicious! The calamari was to die for! We also ordered the lamb chops as well as the octopus and would definitely recommend as well. The server who might have been the owner, not sure, was a pleasure. Beautiful delicious dinner celebrating our anniversary in Frankfurt.

Nice little restaurant, with a small menu, but interesting, well executed dishes. Great and attentive service. It's a bit small inside, but there is enough space outside, but surroundings not that nice. Prices are at the higher end.

This place is a hidden gem. Make sure to try the hummus, the feta, and the octopus. I definitely recommend it.

The pics on the net are deceiving, it’s a small venue and really bad lighting. There’s 1 guy who’s serving everyone. Food was ok .. my monkfish was super salty and my sons disliked the calamari and beans. Menu is limited and pricey .. won’t comeback.

I had a very nice evening with my wife in this cosy restaurant. Spanish wine by the glass really to our taste. Starters, we first thought are on the pricey side but then saw the portions and more then fair - next time we share a starter 😉. Also the main dishes, the monk fish and the beef stew have been excellent. The plating was nothing fancy, but it felt like home and it was delicious. The highlight was the crema catalana one if not the best we had. The waiter was really hustling at the end as he was alone and the check out pc crashed but very friendly handling of the situation. To the owner just one recommendation, maybe just charge 6€ for the water and everybody would have a drink extra 😊.

Food and drinks were good. The place is not big. It feels very cozy with not so loud chill music. I would recommend for a romantic or chill night out.

This place is great set in centre of Frankfurt. The food is delicious and service greatest I’ve ever received in Germany. I travel a lot around the world for work and the only perk I get is the food. I can recommend this place to anyone who likes Mediterranean cuisine. If you know the menu just go for what you want but if not you can blindly follow the staff recommendation, the final touch is given by the best waiter in the world, Ali.

Came here for dinner with a close friend and we have an amazing evening! The ambiance was superb; romantic and cosy with candles to match. Restaurant was less than 25% full, so we had no issues with slow service. If you’re going on a busy evening, I would brace yourself for a relaxed, slower dinner service. If you’re a couple with little to talk about, this probably isn’t the place for you. With the good chat and excellent wine, the time just flew by. Food was super tasty too. Wonderful evening for us.

I don't like to give bad reviews but our experience wasn't great. (we had a party of 7) Food when it eventually came after almost 1.5 hours was OK. We chased up after about 50 mins to see where our orders had got to... Apparently "something went wrong with the machine and the order didn't go through..." The waiter just shrugged and said it would be about 40 mins! We asked for a complimentary drink or even just some bread to tide us over. "no... no bread" There you go. Food was OK - starters were good, portions were large, main dishes OK service sacked - that's it

Very unique place in Frankfurt with a cozy dining room and great food. Do reserve before going as it’s a small place. My only complaint is wine: our Prosecco to start was flat and the bottle of red wine we had was too warm, possibly indicating improper storage. Entrees of chicken in a pan and beef ragout were both excellent and we would come again.

The calamaretti! We ate, tiger prawns, octopus, soup, and calamaretti. All of them were good. However, the calameretti was the B E S T....

Amazing authentic Spanish experience, wine was perfect. Fish cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable and beautiful ambience with relaxing music and wonderful stone walls and shelves filled with intriguing bottles of wine. Highly recommend!

Good Restaurant in a hidden alley. The cedar salad was delicious and the entrecôte was very juicy. The waiter was very nice, and quick as well.
