Had a good experience visiting Goethe museum. There is a possibility to pick up a card with descriptions of rooms and an interactive screen at the entrance, where you can learn the house history. One hour will be more, than enough there. P.S. The house itself was ruined during WW2, so don’t expect authenticity. But still it’s nice to see how the house looked at that time.

A highly recommended museum. Goethe House is his birthplace in 1749, and the museum is located right beside the house. He spent his early youth in this house with his parents and sister, until he was 16 when he moved out to study law in Leipzig. The house was destroyed during the World War II bombing in 1949 but then restored similar to its original form after the war. You can find wonderful paintings, furniture and also you can find out about the history of the house and its residents there. Regular entry fee 7 €, unemployed and students 3 €

Everything inside is impressive and furniture is amazing also. Great to visit here and being able to feel like old times and where Goethe got his first inspirations. The garden and the furniture are well preserved, I like the kitchen and the sealed topfloor stairs. Each room is unique with different paper walls and a heating system which makes you feel the family had a warm cozy house. The sets of tea service just 👌🏻🌟

I was really stunned touring through the house. Seeing where and how Goethe lived and grew up is amazing. The story about how Goethe has brought a mouse to Junker and told him to include the mouse in a flower painting that he was working on is super amazing that I did not notice the mouse in the first glance.

Wow! What a spectacular museum. The beautifully restored Goethe House combined with the modern interactive design of the galleries is amazing. Even if you're not a Goethe fan it's a brilliant representation of the citys history. A must visit!

Museum dedicated primarily to Gothe and a few related romantic poets, writers, and artists. Home tour is fun and informative. Museum has many works across various mediums available, and an incredible array of first person writings, such as letters and manuscripts. Several items get into personal relationships among the various artists and give a fuller portrait of them as individuals.

I really enjoyed visiting the house. Explanatory sheets in multiple languages are available at the entrance to accompany the visit. There is also a museum for the ones who like german romanticism and it is accessible with the same ticket.

From the outside you can not tell the size of the building, but actually it is quite large, and you can learn of the interesting life of one of the great intellectual from Germany. Recommended!

Was seht spannend ist.

A must see in Frankfurt this house preserved all furniture belonging to Goethe family, since bought by his grandmother Cornelia. You may see the desk where was created Faust as well as three levels rooms endowed with their old furniture, extraordinary pieces of art! A painting exhibition must be also seen, presenting paintings done during Goethe life in Germany and Italy! I fully recommend this wonderful house, extraordinary historical place!

If you are on holiday in Frankfurt, of course you have to visit Goethe House. Goethe, whose name is also famous in Indonesia, makes me want to know him more deeply. When entering Goethe's house, there is guidance in nine languages, and it explains every room in Goethe's house. What a fun experience!

If you don't know what to do on a boring Sunday in Frankfurt, you'd better visit this very well organized museum . You'll find out a lot of interesting facts about Goethe and his lifestyle.

Very instructive place where we can know every single details about Goethe life and work. The house is well conserved and the more modern museum upstair is cool too.

If you're interested in Goethe and his life, visiting this house can be fascinating for you. At the entrance, there are papers in several languages providing historical details and information about the house's different floors. My suggestion is to add explanations directly on the house objects, in addition to these guide papers, or at least write the room names on their doors to avoid confusion. There were some paintings on the wall with no information provided either on the guide paper or directly on them.

  • 3/5 Elisavet V. 5 years ago on Google
The entrance fee is 7€ per adult and 3€ per student. Great gift shop with good prices! Plenty of antique furniture to see and the history (life) of Goethe! Lack of information, not the kindest "guides" you can meet and not accessible enough on what you see and how it used to operate! Easy to spot, difficult parking space (not if you pay of course)! Nice effort but it can be improved!

  • 5/5 Cristina P. 2 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed it. It was the best museum I’ve visited in Frankfurt. Goethe’s house is nicely arranged and you can enjoy the entire place. You also have an online guide that is free which provides sufficient information to understand what you are seeing. The Deutsches-Romantik Museum is there as well and the ticket includes visits to both. A must if you come to Frankfurt.

A very interesting museum! Romanticism was felt naturally in all senses. A very interactive experience. A wide number of books in the souvenir shop, but unfortunately all in German language. The souvenirs were not topically selected.

  • 4/5 Samia B. 4 years ago on Google
Well preserved and executed, too bad there are no details about the paintings and also the timeline and storytelling on the last floor are only in german, it would've been a more fruitful experience if they added english for tourists.

The house can be visited relatively quickly but there is also the museum of the German Romantic period with very interesting exhibitions.

  • 1/5 Antonio S. 1 year ago on Google
Well preserved and extremely interesting. After paying 10 € ticket you can take only one informative depliant. When I tried to take a second one (with a different language) the woman at the reception prevented me from doing that in an impolite and arrogant way. Never again at this museum!!! Really bad experience.

As a person not so familiar with the european culture, it was interesting just to see how the 17 century household looked like. But nothing typically intrigued me when it comes to it being a monumental place for a well known writer.

Unless you're a hard-core Goethe fan you can give it a miss! An unassuming building with basically a German bookstore inside (I didn't explore beyond that). You can explore the house for which the ticket is around 10 Euros.

birthplace of Germany´s most famous author and poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, was built in the typical 18th-century bourgeois style. It is decorated with period furniture and paintings, providing an authentic and striking impression of the environment in which Goethe spent his youth. The Goethe Museum, a gallery of paintings from the Goethe era, elucidates Goethe's relationship to the art and artists of his epoch. Entrance is 7.50 euro. It work from 10 to 18.

I like the house's vibe, the voice from the wooden floor when you put your steps on it, the sun rays inside the house, and the window glasses' unclear shape with bubbles. And you must bear in mind that the house was totally ruined after second world war. The reconstruction work was totally flawless.
