The place is your typical "youth" hostel. It tends to be loud, active, and well located. The rooms are very basic. Even lacking a proper closet. The annoying part was that the big bed was 2 separate mattresses. The place is quite loud through out the night due to the youth

I would like to give -5 stars as my experience was the worst I have ever had. So many mistakes in such a short period of time (1 night) and for so much money. First, the receptionist sent us (me and my sister) to a shared room that was already full. We came back and then she sent us to a room with two men, which made us very uncomfortable (She should have offer female rooms, which she did not). We asked to change our room to a female one. When we got there, there were no bed linen. We went back to ask someone to put them on but they said they couldn't do it as room service had already left. We then had to bring the sheets and put them on ourselves. Also, the hostel smells bad, the sheets were dirty and the walls had seepage. The staff is not welcoming or understanding, they don't care about the guests. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. It is rubbish.

Great hostel but we did have some problems along the way. No air conditioning in the room so had to open the huge window and got beetles in. The construction site being right next to the hostel was not fun to hear at 6am. The downstairs bathroom was blocked 1/2 and the laundry machine leaked when we did a small batch. Air conditioning is bad in the lobby too, windows open so flies everywhere. Breakfast was good for the price!

Everything was fine with the hostel and the staff (nice staff) until the last day. My friend received a message we have to leave before 10am. So we planned to leave around 9:30am. We were sleeping when a German men came into our room, four girls sleeping with bare clothes bc there was 24/27 degrees, he came knowing there was some people inside speaking in German something we don’t understood, he saw us and he still there stuck looking at one of my friends while he was speaking in German. He noted something in a book and he left the room. Very upset with that treatment. I felt harassment because as I said we were sleeping in underwear basically. They couldn’t give us an explanation of why that man had entered at that early hour into our room, they couldn’t tell us why even knowing that there are girls in the room he were stood staring to my fiends while he was speaking in German, as I said before, we had until 10 in the morning to leave and that man came in at 8:30am. We didn’t know what he wanted to tell us either. Nobody knew how to explain what happened, what I understood was that it had happened more times. Very upset with that. I’m not gonna come back to that place again.

For Indonesian standard, this hotel is amazing! We had a nice time staying here. The room was clean and comfortable. For that price, it was pretty big. The ambience was cozy and quiet. The facilities are great too! They have a shared kitchen with microwave and stoves and fridge, a common room with many cozy seats, laundry room, and toilets near the common room. They sell food and beverages in the cafe located in the common room, but we can always bring outside food around the cafe area. Only one minor thing, not all the staff was fluent in English. I struggle to understand about the city tax they charged when I checked in. It was sorted out well when the other staff came to explain to me. Overall it was a great experience! Will definitely choose another a&o hostels in the future.

Booked a bed in a mixed room last minute and the receptionist was able to accommodate me with a bed in a female only dorm. The room was fairly spacious with a seperate shower and WC. It was very difficult to sleep though because the walls are super thin, you can hear everything. And the room was very warm at night. Also found it weird that you have to make your own bed

After our accomodation plans fell through, my partner and I decided to stay at a&o hostel temporarily. Some of the staff members (I didn't catch their names) were absolutely lovely and welcoming. Check in and check out was very simple and easy. The rooms were very clean, and the bed (double room) for a couple was very spacious and it was just what we needed. In general, you can tell it was very newly built building and the decor very simple and modern. The showers were very clean too which is always a plus! The kitchen included a fridge, an induction hob and microwaves and there were an abundance of seating options in the lounge which was great considering the price you pay for. The windows also are soundproof so we were able to sleep pretty well and the curtains were good at blocking out the sun in the morning. Only some minor issues, but for a hostel and for the price you pay, are only minor. I found that (likely due to it being the summer holidays) the lounge was often full of children, which meant it was quite difficult to work there. Also, there was no air conditioning but this is quite common in Europe, it was just unfortunate there was a unprecedented heatwave going on at the moment. Furthermore, the washing machines never seemed to work and the kitchen table wasn't the cleanest either ( but the lounge more than made up for it!) There is also a LIDL very close by which was very convenient and a petrol station in front that opens until late (although very limited in terms of amenities). Overall, excellent value for money! Very cheap and it provided what we needed and the basics were fantastic (clean comfortable rooms, with a hob) close to LIDL and tram Station. I would recommend it to anyone.

We booked a room for 4 people for 2 nights at a&o Hostel Frankfurt Ostend. We were quite surprised to find that only 2 of the 4 beds were fully made up when we arrived in our room. After pointing this out to the receptionist, we were promised that someone would look into it immediately. However, when we returned from dinner, nothing had happened. We also found that our rooms had not been properly cleaned (there was still dust on the floor and bench), the bathroom bin was still full and the sink was blocked and wouldn't drain. Overall, we felt that our room had not been cleaned at all after the previous guests had left. This really leaves a bad overall impression of the a&o Frankfurt Ostend and we would not recommend staying here again.

The checking in process was long, the girl at reception was slow as Blitz the sloth from Zootopia cartoon, and considering the fact we were in a rush and which we informed her of, that was unpleasant. The room was missing a pillowcase, and one person from our group had to wrap a sheet around a pillow to sleep not to run around at 11 pm looking for a pillowcase. The lucky ones who had a pillowcase, had a wrong size, which was twice smaller than the pillow. On the note, the staff apologised for inconvenience and offered us a free breakfast, which was nice.

It's alright 7/10. The bedroom, I stayed in was okay but the hygiene in the room for example; the floor, the bathroom, the basin, the bed sheets, shower was displeasing !!!! I had to do a bit of cleaning because I didn't felt so Comfortable with the hairs, dirty etc.. around. The hostel is not that quite but it's alright (maybe it depends on which floor you are) . The Housekeeper does not come everyday so if you need a towel or new bedspread or toilet paper you have to go downstairs to the staff and ask for some, they are nice and will be willing to give you.(my experience). Secondly, the guest kitchen was just NOT alright it was bad the plate And rest food the flys all about.. the microwave was not clean aswell as the kettle etc.. ( I know this are the visitors fault but that doesn't mean that the kitchen should not be cleaned properly) Maybe what can make it better, is by having a display with the writing "PLEASE LEAVE THE KITCHEN CLEAN AFTER USING" or something else?!?..... so the visitors can take it seriously! . The garbage can at the lobby was surrounded by flys which was really horrible. On the other hand, the Lobby has where you Can play with your kids, playing area,a toilet and a bar . If you like ice cream or you would like a drink you can buy it there. Booking online is way better and cheaper, you can get some % of. (< I love it). The Location is the best it is safe and comfortable 5star on that. I came with the tram 11. So I can't say any information About the parking lot!!. The change for the future for a&0 hostel is: needs more hygiene; deep cleaning the bedrooms(beds, bathrooms etc.. .The guest kitchen NEEDS MORE AND DEEPLY CLEANING. After all it was okay. Thankyou for having me stay at a&o Hostel Ostend. :)

I had a pleasant stay at this hostel. The location is excellent, the tram 11 stops right across the street. The costumer service was also good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, the kitchen was a bit of let down. It is a big hostel, and because many guests cook, it tends to get quite busy. The room were comfortable (of course there is always some unpleasant guests ), but I noticed that the shower and floor were not cleaned frequently.

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in Frankfurt. Danke!

I stayed at the a&o hostel in Munich and returned satisfied, but here I was very stressed. Because I made an online booking and went to the room to get the key and all the beds were very dirty. I was very tired and asked for a quick cleaning or another room. Finally I went to another room, but I had no sheets linen. Also the room is not very clean. and some of the mattresses smelled of urine. Communication is a little bad. There is a metal container for the luggage, but the small lock does not fit. There is a small shared kitchen. The clothes have their own laundry facilities. You need to pay. Lockers are available for rent. It's fine if you need a cheap place to stay, but you'll need to do a little cleaning yourself. there is a metro station in the middle of the city next to it.

For what it is, great value. Only the kitchen experience could be and must be improved! A few simple improvements to the somewhat disgusting kitchen would make it really good value. Sloppiness and lack of clear boundaries in housekeeping 😭

Good value for money. The hotel is located a bit far from Train Station but it is very close to a tram station. The staff when I checked in was kind and helpful. I booked a twin bed room and it was tidy and clean. A bit too warm during summer (no AC only heater/radiator). A bit noisy as well because it is close to the main road and tram. The wifi is fast. Overall, it is an ok hotel for a short stay or work trip.

Cheap place and rooms were clean but it was a party place in front of it and in neighbourhood with people being noisy til 5 am....could hardly sleep. Many young adults....for a party in town. The staff tried to.keep it quiet but only works a bit. Staff super friendly.

If only I could give this zero stars, giving 1 is an absolute compliment. Firstly when we arrived they either gave us rooms that hadn’t been cleaned or actually were filled with other guests. This was followed by the poorest front counter and bar service I’ve ever experienced; slow, expensive and poor quality I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had told me the front counter attendee was stoned. To top it off we arrived at breakfast to a completely empty kitchen to be told that the staff had experienced ‘issues they could not resolve’ and the pre paid breakfast we had organised could not be provided. When probed further the staff admitted they hadn’t been able to open the kitchen for a month. Save yourself some frustration and stay anywhere else but here.

I would definitely recommend. ❤️ I give 5 stars, because the service is like a hotel nevertheless it is a hostel ☀️👍🤗 I have been here for two times with kids. The rooms cleanliness is 4 room 5. ( windows are dirty, but it doesn't influence the overall atmosphere, the bathroom is desinfected ,he taps, sink, toilet seat, the door hangers everything is neat (but the guy from the neighbouring room told that his room is not sufficiently tidy) suppose it's ok for hostel. The reception services is 10 of 10. They are the best of the best, very professional ☺️ and helpful, assertive. I am astonished.💓 The guy from reception helped me two times since I had difficulties with payment. He was empathetic and friendly. Like in 5 star hotel Hilton. I really appreciate you guys. While I was waiting in the line in the reception I noticed that the reception guys were trying their best to be friendly, helpful ☺️ The price definitely worth it's money. I appreciate the owner for the idea of clean and nice price. Idea of "everyone can travel" You did it. For two weeks in Frankfurt I have changed 7 hotels, but still came back to you. And I will definitely come back next time. There's a kitchen for everyone's use, there are cheap luggage boxes. I wish you good luck from Ukraine. Regards

So i booked a double room for my family (2 kids as well). The room was ok with one double bed and one bunk bed for kids. But there was no fridge or cabinets. I was really disappointed to see that. The hot water was out for 4 hours. The staff was ok if not rude. Breakfast services in the morning was good as well.

  • 3/5 Tyson P. 5 months ago on Google
The hostel ran out of toilet paper and didn't really do anything about it. The kitchen tools were dirty and you have to pay a deposit to use them, clearly they don't check if people are cleaning anything. Anything you ask for from the front counter you have to wait quite a while for. The staff timing was strange, they had 4 people working around the counter and bar during the morning but as soon as the afternoon rolled around when people would be checking in (presumably when you'd want more staff), there was always only 1 person. This meant you had to wait for a while to get any sort of response. Mediocre stay at best.

For 8 days no cleaning!!!! I asked 4 times about it, all managers said that- you will have cleaning tomorrow. Every day nobody comes! The hotel's fire alarm went off once in the middle of the night!!! We have no toilet paper and fool garbage buckets! We booked one room for 2 person. The worst experience ever!!!! I will never stay here again!

A good place to rest after a long day sight seeing. I think the all you can eat breakfast is good value. Get your breakfast before going out for another day of sight seeing. Try the pancake😃 The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient.

Room is clean, smells nice and bed is comfortable. Location is quite convenient with nearby public transport and supermarkets. However the walls are paperthin and the people in the next room were noisy all night. On top of that someone stole my food I packed in the bag in the fridge. Quite ok for the price but I think more fitting for young people only.

We all can be concerned when reading the bad reviews, but once you check in, you'll change your mind Clean rooms, clean beds and clean toilets The staff at the reception are very friendly and available most of the time; I arrived very late at night because my flight had a delay but still they were happy to serve me in the reception, whatever I asked for they were ready to help Because I was on a business trip, I only was in the hotel by night to sleep and in the early morning but still everything was great all the basics you need and more are available The tram station is very close, so you can move everywhere you want from the hotel A&O Staff thanks for your hospitality!!

Is it normal for such a place to be full of flies bothering you all the time? It's more expensive than the Galluswarte branch but not better. Even towels cost extra here. The staff is helpful but there's a lack of management. The wifi is not really reliable( no connection at times and you have to login multiple times an hour)

A fair place to stay while passing by. Our end destination was Spain and we started in the south of Sweden. Not sure why they booked 2 rooms for us though as one of the rooms had 6 beds and we needed......6. Guest parking was full but there was a parking garage nearby that we used. Didn't feel very safe though as anyone could walk straight in and do what they liked undisturbed. Luckily nothing happened (until we reached Milano).

A staff member robbed me! I left one morning and once back my AirPods were stolen from inside my luggage. I had police involved and everything and the hostel stuff was simply not helpful at all. I could follow the AirPod location and they went from a specific place back to the hostel for weeks. The hostel staff refused to provide the name of the person that lives in the address. Simply do not go here if you want to keep your stuff.

I love your accomodation. The staff are patient. The corridor is superb. Rooms beautiful. Could you give me a Franchise or partner with me to open a similar outfit for tourists in the newest capital city in Africa, Abuja?

The room was really clean and the stuff was extremely helpful. I came here with a recommendation of Irena Piedade and I can’t be more thankful to her for the help. And also the resectionist Nadine was also so kind and helpful. Breakfast is great and the 11 tram line is just right outside of the hotel. Everything was spectacular!

Great location, close to public transport, restaurants, the river. Rooms were ok but could have been cleaner... Parking rather expensive but free parking possible in the street behind the hotel and we always found a free spot.

We booked at the last minute and were lucky with parking alot. They have good safely locked parking either in their "garden" or underground parking. The receptionist was very helpful and very nice. Whole communal areas were looking nice and clean, which unfortunately cannot be told about the rooms. Rooms are very tiny. We had to split the beds so we could even get to toilet in tje night as there was only space to walk to the bed on one side of it. When we split the beds, we couldn't beleive what did we found. Except of commonly found human hairs, dust or crumbs, we had under the bed very big piece of cutted someone's nail, which was disgusting. With this note I would like to point out in the housekeepers duties, that they should also clean under the beds. We were also disappointed by no towels = we booked separate room for 2 which we though will have towels. Other dissapointment came in the morning when we were woken up by construction work that has been happening just across the road followed by very poor breakfast choice. The only good was boiled egg and pancakes. Unfortunately i would not boom any further overnight stay in the hotel unless that is an emergency. And regarding breakfast it is better to buy yours outside.

The room is clean. Check-in and check-out is convenient and fast. Nearby tram station. By tram in ten minutes you can reach the city center. There is a supermarket nearby! But the noise insulation is not good, there are a lot of people coming back in the midnight and making a lot of noise in the corridor.

It was an amazing stay. I arrived before check-in time, after a tiring sleepless night. They made an exception and checked me in earlier, upgraded my room from mixed to women's dormitory and gave a free breakfast. The room was clean and location was perfect, just near tram station. Internet connection was fast. Thank you very much!

Enjoyed my stay n will recommend this place for budget accommodation. It would have been better if there was a ceiling fan in the room. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Very convenient location in Frankfurt. I also enjoyed the ground coffee at the lounge.

Handing bed linens and charging extra money for it is disappointing! I arrived at midnight, it wasn't nice to turn on the lights for covering my bed while my roomates were sleeping!! This should be done by staff itself before guessts check-in. The location of hostel is also so inconvenient for getting public transport to reach the Frankfurt hauptbahnhof.

I would highly recommend this hostel if you are looking for a place where you will get clean room for such a low price. The staffs were really nice. Right from the reception, team a&o did everything so smoothly. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was also worth for the money. It was really close to the main attractions in Frankfurt. Thanks team a&o for such a good experience. ☺️

Even if you see some nice pictures in the web, the place is not recommended. I had problems with the check in, they wanted to give me the wrong room because they made a mess in the reservations. The room was dirty and stinky! Guest before were smoking inside the room and the complete room was smelling cigarette all the days we stayed there, really a terrible experience for non-smokers. I am sure there are better places nearby the centre. There is not security in the hostel. It is so easy to go inside and walk around the complete hostel.

best value of money in frankfurt. this is a 5 stars hostel in ffm and price like a hostel. well equipped kitchen (just a bit dirty because they are full of guests). there are many facilities in public space and each room has its own separate toilet and shower. enough social space. just that my dorm room is not perfectly clean but acceptable, as i saw dust, empty water bottle and used tissue on the floor. good location, only 30 min on foot to city centre. their staff are very young and tried their best to help me. tram is right in front of door , post office and 2 supermarkets are few steps away. it is safe and quiet at night.

Though we had to wait a while for check-in, then the whole thing went smoothly. The room was tiny, but tidy. Since the hostel is rather for oversleeping for low price, there is no place for high expectations. It is a fair place for fair money.

Before you're sure to stay here, check out these horrible rooms. You must be vaccinated for all kind of microbes to protect your life. Also you're not gonna need me to talk about terrible reception services, you'll see. Totally not suggestible.

The hostel was pretty big so you're not coming for a warm and cozy feeling. There was a kitchen but you had to put down a deposit to get a box of pots and pans and even plates and utensils, so just be prepared for that (at first I thought they just didn't have any of that stuff). Solid hostel!

worst point at the end :D we booked a room for 4 , i loved the vibe of the room but there was very tight space to walk between the beds. the room had two singles beds joined together to make a double bed and 1 bunk bed, 2 side stools, 1table with 2 stools, 1 dressing and 1 cloth rack. however the beds were of good size, intelligently constructed like the beds in dorms or hostel should be. instead of side tables there were stools, it was a nice concept. each bed had a personal light, private easy to reach space for gadgets/glasses/watches etc (a bucket like structure throughout the length/width of the bed). the bunk bed also had a few knobs for hanging clothes making it smarter. there was something beneath the beds but i had no time to explore. may b it was for some storage, no idea about that. it didn't open so i left it unexplored. washroom was small but clean. there was a clothing rack in the room and a compact dressing table as soon as you enter the room, washroom had a hand wash and the shower had a body/hair wash, there was a hair dryer, a mirror, sanity shoppers, toilet tissues and hand tissues available in the toilet. and a garbage bin was also there. they said the building is centrally heated so no one is able to manage their heater. this thing should be told in advance, i had no sweater with me and i was unable to sleep in my jacket. the rooms were cold at night and once the sun was out , the same room became a suana. there was a paid secure parking available, which is a plus point. check out time could be extended by giving some money. now comes to the worst points, there is a v small kids area, almost all the free games were broken, they were not at all maintained. and the thing that made me not to book this place again was the breakfast buffet . 7-11 am was the time, we went there at 8:30. they had a sandwich station with cabbage, cucumber, tomato, 2-4 types of meat, mayo n ketchup n some garnish and 1 type of cheese, this was the only cheese available in the whole buffet. 3 types of breads were there, no variety of healthy breads. only white bread n buns. breakfast was a disappointment. they also had coffee station, pancake station. very few options for vegetarian. and the worst is tht once if something runs out they were not refilling it. infact there was no one to keep a check if people are having enough to eat or not. it made me sad.

A place with a huge potential as there without exaggeration that reception is always busy..... Now regarding staff, management should have a serios discussion about cleaning and maintenance as there as you see un the pictures is disgusting starting with entrance of the hotel ending with cleaning the rooms or to say more clearly, no cleaning ,changing bed sheets and clean towels don't means room cleaned . I can write long long review but I considering photos are enough and is a shame for the potential and customers this hotel has to don't sort those issues .

The stuff was so nice and helpful! The breakfast is a bit expensive but the pancake machine is so cool, more vegan options is needed to replace milk, yogurt , cheese and ham but if you like traditional buffet go for it! The rooms are super clean and the lobby is fun to hang out at , play pool and chill ♥️

The guys at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The room in which I stayed (Room No. 007) was very clean. The bathroom and toilet were super clean as well. Looks like everything is newly renovated. The room smelled very nice and fresh. I was lucky, only two more girls stayed with me that one night there. I payed for bed sheets and two towels an extra fee of 7€, which was totally reasonable and worth it. They provide you with a locker for a deposit of 5€, so you can lock your valuables and an entire luggage under the bed. Overall a great stay. I recommend you the coffee at the reception ;) the tram stop is right in front of the hostel. 20 mins to Frankfurt Central.

Shower were not available during our whole stay. Instead, we were allowed to have a free coffee and breakfast, which was very nice. Also, our tv did not work. The staff came to the room and fixed the problem. Very friendly and helpful staff. They just need more people as waiting time at reception was very long. Thanks!

It is more a big hotel than a hostel. The shared / social spaces are reduced to a minimum. Breakfast is correct however the hot drink machine was broken on the weekend we stayed there. Parking is 17€/day but you can find free public parking around the hostel. No AC so it can hot in the summer.

I found the hostel to be okay and generally, it was just like any other A&O I had visited in the past. The receptionists were good and collaborative. You are expected to pay a city fee of €2 per day and in my case I paid €4 because I spent two days there. They have some table games where your kids can play and also a dining room. I can’t say much about the food there because I was actually on a tight budget and opted not to eat at their restaurant. In a nutshell, i had a nice stay as the cost was Cheap. I would recommend this hostel to anyone if you are on a budget and maybe looking for a place to stay while u sort yourself out.

This place is a joke. Strange-looking drugged persons and homeless front of the hotel. No parking space at all in the area. Only in dodgy streets 15minztes by walk away. Took almost 2h to find safe parking near by. Called the hotel many times because they said before they will provide safe parking but no answer at all. Long queues and sort of staff at reception. Rooms are noisy, impossible to sleep, kids were feeling uncomfortable and Frightened of the strange and loud noises from outside . Night club near to hotel, extremely loud music. Cars and motorcycles race the streets all over the place all night. Do not expect help from the staff, we didn't sleep more than 1hour all night. No towels and changed bed sheets in the room.. Tried to escape as soon as possible in the morning. Really not worth the money. Public safety is zero in the area, but they expect to pay extra money for the tax after check in 😅 Try to avoid this area. This is not the hotel fault. But at least they could be more helpful or hire more staff to the front.

Nice place and good breakfast for small price. The room with WC and shower was big enough for two. It Was too hot at night, because there is no any ventilation at the room and no nets on the window to open it.

The family room we stayed in was ok. The problem was that it was stuffy and we had to open the window, but if we did it was too loud - The hotel is located at a very lively road, it was load the whole night long. We are on a road trip and wanted to take a break to sleep to go further, and we weren’t able to sleep properly;(

Good price for a few nights stay. Feels more like a big hotel than hostel, heaps of people every day and families. There was always queue at the reception and the staff wasn't very clear. The manager was very gentle and helpful. The rooms are good with private bathrooms, although was very hot during those days and almost no ventilation.

No towels during our stay! It was easy to find, check in/ out was easy and room was clean, but be prepared to put your own sheets on the bed! And there were no towels! We were a group of 6 traveling from all over and some arriving late. We were not informed prior to arrival about the issue and were told to go to petrol station across the road to find an alternative. We kept being told that a delivery was coming soon so often went back to the reception to be told there are still no towels. One member of staff was apologetic however she was not able to offer us a refund or a free breakfast, only some free drinks. The other members of staff were completely unhelpful. And yes I know it is a budget place but they were aware of the bookings and to not be informed in advance and given no alternative other than try the petrol station is is quite ridiculous.

Great Hotel, lot of rooms, free parking in the near, quiet central, friendly service, nice bathroom with bath, we only had issue with the less people in the hotel which isn't usual for A&O, but let us blame the virus. We will anddefinitely comeback to Frankfurt and A&O
