My first African food and it was great! Never thought that African food can be delicious like this. They have many food to choose. The price is good compared to the food that they give and the way it should be eat using hand, make me feel like I’m in home. You should definitely come and try it!

Was a great experience. Service was perfect and very kind, so easy to get reservation online and they answered a question very quick. We were a group and we ordered big plates to share, maybe we should have order some starters as the amount of food wasn't that much, but the price was super fair. I'll go back and I recommend it.

The environment is beautiful! Lovely decoration. Traditional food and quite tasty, specially when paired with the amazing wine. And then you have a friendly service that gives you suggestions, is fast and quite attentive :) love this place and we will keep coming back every time we visit Frankfurt

I travel all over the world and love all different kinds of foods and I can honestly say say this was the best meal I've ever had! I could not decide between the meat sampler platter or the Vegan sampler platter so they graciously offered to make me a platter with both the Vegan as well as meat samplings. Everything was absolutely spectacular! I am only in town for 2 nights but I will be having my dinner there again tomorrow! Run, don't walk, to this amazing restaurant for your next meal and I promise you will not be disappointed! My husband is not with me and I told him we will have to come to Frankfurt together just so I can take him to this restaurant! It's that good!

Delicious food, big portions, great service, stunning decor, clean bathrooms and many sanitary products in them.

It's different. Meals are served African stye, i.e. no cutlery. It's both an adventure in taste and culture. Loved the meal, service and the time taken to explain it all to us. Well worth a visit. It's an experience that you will value.

Recommendations! Price quality in orde, delicious food and in a nice atmosphere. Kind and helpful staff. We brought our 3 month old daughter with us and that was not at all a problem.

What a vibe! Delicious food, friendly & welcoming staff and a wonderful atmosphere. They accommodated us even though our online booking had an error and didn’t go through. We had the meat share plate for two paired with a South African Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 👌 the food was incredible and a great portion and the wine was paired perfectly - thanks for the recommendation! Easily the best food I've had in Germany. So delicious, so flavorful. The Asmara beer was good too. I've been in Germany two weeks, and I've missed that delicious spiced flavor. I'm vegetarian so maybe that's why Germany hasn't been feeding me so well so far, but wow, this food was really good. Highly recommend

After the visit I got symptoms of food poisoning from the glas milk I ordered. I thought it tastes a little bit different but drank it anyway. Now I lie with fever in my bed and have regularly to vomit. Thank you for my nice vacation…

I highly recommend this restaurant. Very cozy and with excellent service. Very clean as well. The staff truly cares about your experience. We have ordered a meat plate for two. It was really delicious taste with great quality, I also like the African beer. Great place to chill or go out on a date. If you are not shy about eating African dishes with your hands.:) Otherwise just ask for a fork. Аnyway, it's a nice experience.

Absolutely beautiful 💚the whole experience from start to finish was incredible. The staff were so kind and extremely friendly, the energy of this place is truly something special. The food, the colours, the taste, REAL soul food cooked from heart. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Truly wonderful!

We arrived late at night in Frankfurt after traveling and stumbled upon this restaurant. Although they were cleaning up and about to close, they allowed us to dine in. Our server, Sirak, was incredibly accommodating and made us feel so welcome, not rushed at all. He gave us the recommendation to split the meat & veggie platters and even taught us how to properly eat it. The food was delicious!! A nice variety of flavors from spicy to savory to sweet. Afterwards, we had a lovely conversation about the city and shared a toast of East African shots! If I ever find myself in Frankfurt again, I will definitely stop by.

I was surprised to finde some good Eritrean food right in the heart of Sachsenhausen, next to those smelly bars and mediocre burger restaurants. The interior was lovely decorated and offered a relaxed atmosphere. The food was very delicious. We ordered the mixed platter which offered a nice chance to sample the different meat dishes. For vegetarians, there is also a meatless versions available. Overall, we were very happy with the food and left with full stomachs. Pricing was also ok, maybe not the cheapest (around 13€ per person for a dish). Only really negative thing was the waiting time, since the food almost took an hour to be served.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant, Mommona African Restaurant. A true cultural experience and the service is unmatched. The owners and staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. We ordered the Mommona Fleisch Platte with an order of the ZlZl and we must say the (number 26) was our favorite. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Frankfurt and at a great price. Highly recommend!

Very bad behaviour. The restaurant cancel my booking 30min before, just because we have a discount. If you are dealing with the discounts, then you accept them. Otherwise, stop all of them. You should not work in this business if you don’t take your work seriously and love it. 0 points to you and your attitude towards clients.
