I really enjoyed this beautiful park. When you get down to the water there are so many beautiful places to admire. Whether it be from the ocean, the rock formation or the birds that take home to that area. The people were very friendly and many of them had dogs walking with them. It was a great park to go alone or with your family. If you have found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up 👍 and feel free to follow me for future reviews.

Wolfe's Neck State Park is fabulous! It's very easy to get to, the drive through the Freeport countryside is very scenic. I really like this park; it's a very relaxing walk through the woods. There are several tree varieties, and many different types of fungi as well. Some of the trees are quite large, and I hope others appreciate them as much as I do. There are paths down to the water's edge, where you can walk along the rocky shoreline. Plenty of people bring their dogs, and there are places along the trails to sit on wooden benches. There's a small island across from some benches that is home to an Osprey nest, where you can observe Ospreys when they are in the area. A few places on the trail have steps carved out of stones, but I wouldn't call the majority of the trails strenuous. It is a popular place to visit. I believe there is a public restroom, but I haven't used it so I'm not sure if it has plumbing or is a vault toilet. Update: the restroom is plumbed, but I also saw an outhouse for use during the off-season.

A must stop while visiting Freeport area for an outdoor hike in the woods! Beautiful scenery right along the water. Bring your kids and dogs for some fresh air and map out a good hike based on distance and skill level. Pay per each individual in the car $6 adults (12+) and $1 kids under 12. Clean restrooms located right in the parking lot.

Wow ! This is one of my favorite state parks so far ! Absolutely stunning views! There are two relatively large parking areas. Lot 1 and lot 2. There is a bathroom outhouse next to lot 2. I did the North Loop, to White Pines Trail, to Casco Bay trail along the coastline and then did the full Harraseeket trail. I loved all portions. The Casco Bay views were fantastic. None of the trails are difficult by any means. Mostly flat-ish trails with some winding paths here and there. There are also interactive signs describing the geology and the ecosystem in the area. Very informative. Plenty of people with their dogs and their kids walking around so it is very friendly for these activities. It was a beautiful mostly sunny day when I went and there weren’t many muddy areas. Just a few spots here and there. There is also a large field by lot 2. Picnic areas and picnic tables are scattered throughout.

Very beautiful place to catch a sunset. I visited with my family and we enjoyed the short handicapped accessible trail to get to two very nice look out points. I wish we had more time there but they close at 7:30. The water was nice to see and it was a good look at the rocky shores of Maine. It was quite there as well.

This was my first time visiting Wolfe's Neck Woods. It is a very nice place with many different trails to choose from. I hiked 2.5 miles around the shores As you can see from the photos that I provided, It is quite beautiful. It is Dog friendly as long as you take care of any deposits your pet might like to leave. I talked with several people along the way who stated that it is one of their most favorite places to visit. Yes! They do have facilities incase you were wondering.

Impeccably maintained family park with wheelchair friendly walking path, picnic area with grills, a mowed play field and breathtaking fresh and salt water views. Water access challenging to some less nimble older folk but I saw small children and adults of all ages traversing. Geology is fascinating if you're into it and the combination of river and ocean environments makes it a great nature walk. Dont miss nesting osprey just off shore. Pack up the kids and the charcoal and make a day for this exceptional place.

This is a very pretty and leisurely hike. The trails are well maintained and ground is fairly leveled with the exception of some tree roots. The water views are at the beginning of the trail so even the shortest hike offers some of the best views. The ground can be a bit mushy depending on how recently its rained. I visited 4 days after a very long rainy day and the ground was soft but easily walkable. There are some places with an increase/decrease in altitude but nothing really strenuous. There is no cell reception so save a photo of the trail map on your phone if you want to reference it throughout your hike. There is a map posted at the entrance and trails are labeled at each crossing.

Beautiful hiking with great views. Not terribly challenging, so even our 4 year old could do it independently. Lots of choices for different routes. Can go right down to the beach and explore too.

Woodland and coastal trails though the park. So far I think this is a very best park from the Portland Maines area. Clams sells are near the campground area

This is definitely worth a visit. It's a gorgeous drive to get there. Friendly ranger. Easy parking and restrooms. The hikes are short and extremely well marked, but there are maps too. We took a few trails and spent about an hour on the beach, exploring and climbing on the rocks.

Great park to hike through! Very family friendly and tons of great views of both the river and through the forest. Dog friendly on leash and trails are easy to navigate and clean! Highly reccomend for anyone visiting the area.

This is one of our favorite places to get a nice walk through the woods as well as see and smell the ocean. Trails are great for hiking and there are quite a few stone stair-like areas and wooden bridges.

Really nice, family-friendly park! The larger loop around allows several overlooks of the water and has stairs down to the shore where you can scamper over rocks and see an Osprey nest (in the summer). Trails are very well marked and flat, and if you do most of the trails you can hit approx. 4 miles. Looking forward to visiting this one each season!

Beautiful trails that go along the Casco Bay, so you get the best of both worlds. Really nice wooded trails & the ocean. It also has an oceanside Campground

We seriously needed a morning walk after our RV stay overnight on the RV parking in town. Great trails here with pretty water views if you are on those trails, but there are a lot more trails worth visiting beside the shore trails.

Great walking trails 👣 including forests, fields, and a pebble beach. Be sure to grab the map when you pay the entrance fee. There are no trail blazes. The trails are only marked at intersections. There are picnic tables and restrooms near the two parking areas at the start of the trails.

Went to walk with the dogs. Had a great time. Found a little beach off one of the little side trails and the pup got to swim and dry off on the walk back to the lot. Small entrance fee but it was free for Maine residents the day we went.

Unbelievable stunning park, perfect to you take your dogs and children! No words for that place you need to go and see with your own eyes 🫶🏼😻 But is little expansive if you’re not a Maine resident 8$ per person

Even on a rainy and overcast day, this park is fantastic! The trails are well maintained and well marked. There is also a good amount of placards and scenic areas for photographs. It's also very close to downtown Freeport, so if you're new to the area there are many great restaurants and shops not too far away! Definitely don't pass up this park!

We hiked several trails. We loved the ocean view and the beautiful flowering plants along the trails.

Definitely would love to go again. Seeing the osprey nest was neat. Plenty of picnic tables everywhere. Seemed to be kept cleaned

We really enjoyed our time at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park! Very easy to get to, had plenty of parking, and trails were well kept, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful! We hiked the Old Woods Road, Harraseeket and White Pines Trail Loop - highly recommend!

Went in January after some snow. It was gorgeous. Lots of trails that bring you down to the water/rocks/sand. The ducks and seagulls were out and we saw a few woodpeckers too. Very serene (minus the screaming kids with their families). Impressive and worth the trip when Youre in Freeport.
