Good spot to drink and chill, gets fairly crowed at night no place to sit outside, a bit warm inside. But overall the place was fantastic and the beer was good!

Had a very excellent evening here. The beer is exceptional, I recommend the Waldhaus beer 'ohne filter'. The service was very good and attentive, and because the vibe and the ambience were so good, we didn't feel like going out to find somewhere else to eat, so we ordered at gone 10 o'clock. The food came and it was excellent, really good and tasty, I ordered maultaschen, what a good call. Delicious. I now need to know where I can get these in England or learn to make my own. Also, the toilets are a real scream. What a good boozer.

Really nice Pub in Freiburg city center. I had a Kirschwasser. Outside we cannot sit after 23 because of Law restrictions but inside was really nice too. Guys at bar were nett und sympatisch

This is a pretty good bar with a selection of whiskey and absinthe. They also serve a boot of beer at 2 liters, good for a drinking game as well as a meter. They also have a few beers, but stay away from the cheapest as that was the only bad beer I've ever had in the country. If speaking English, you may have to enunciate as the waitress brought a beer when we kept saying a meter...and then insisted we pay for the single beer. It was fine but a little frustrating. The restrooms are also bizarre... I'll leave it to the reader to explore.

Classical hang-out place in Freiburg that retains its charm. Sometimes the music is too loud late in the evening in the sitting area at the back but this last time was not so much, so I was very happy. Don't miss out the toilets.

Cozy place with a nice atmosphere for quick drinks. We ordered Aperol and limoncello spritz and had fun. The men's bathroom is interesting as well. Don't try the "Berliner Luft", it's not worth it

Schlappen is Freiburg Institution- it didn’t disappoint. Went there on a Sunday evening. Great atmosphere, flamm Kuchen was great, they have Waldhaus on tap 👌

Freiburg with this bar would be like a river without water. It's been there forever and probably will be there forever. Staff is friendly, menu is comprehensive and there are always good vibes. Recommended 🤩

It's an amazing place and experience just before a Freiburg match! I came here at 12 pm full of people, good music, outside area, I felt very comfortable here. I totally recommend it, it's a perfect place if you are walking close to the city center. The decoration is great and it has a good environment, the prices are good and you can have a great time here!

Schlappen is a lively pub located in the Altstadt close to Martinstor. It offers a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. There is a wide selection of beverages, including a selection of absinthe, whiskey and beers. The Kartoffelteller is large plate of an assortment of fries and is worth trying. The flammkuchen also smells delicious and is worth trying.

one of the places id recommend anyone looking for local food here in Freiburg. Lovely Servers, great food and a lot of options for drinks. Seriously one of my favorite restaurants here.

I ate olive oil pasta and my friends ate flammkuchen with Zwebel and Specks and thus spaghetti with meat. Thus, the beer is great and traditional. The staff was nice! It is a traditional food restaurant so highly recommend to have a meal there!

Large (men) portions of food, good for sharing or when you're hungry. Nice old theatre posters, toilets are clean and WOW! I just really love this place.

Loved this place in Freiburg. Went here more than once during a weekend stay. Staff is so lovely and you will get a lot of food. Traditional Baden-food which was a pleasure to try out!

Lively bar with excellent sellection of fine beers, whiskey, whisky, Absinth and some simple but fresh side dishes. Friendly staff members and a mixed crowd of locals students and tourists (most awake, some asleep) fill the room. Pleasant discovery.

Schlappen is one of my favorite pubs in Freiburg. The prices are very normal, just like any other pub. It's the perfect Irish Pub to be in. The place is pretty huge with an outdoor seating and 3 indoor sitting areas. During evenings (especially weekends) trying going in early because in spite of the huge place it's almost full. One might even have to wait to get a table. But it's got the perfect vibe!

Atmosphere at Schlappen is great! Yhe young waitress was friendly, willing to help, and a joy as she served the lamb skewers with lots of fried potato and beer. Do not miss going to Schlappen if you're in Freiburg - a special trip is also worthwhile!

We searched for a nice place to eat on a Sunday noon in Freiburg and found out this amazing pub on Tripadvisor. We were amazed! Being situated next to Martinstor, it offered great service. We had a tasty flammkuchen and drank local beer; the prices were very good, too. Really recommend it!

A lively, cheerful and bustling environment, a lot of young people. The music not of my choice but not terrible either, most of the people seemed to enjoy it. Good staff in general.
