Very interesting museum on German history with elaborate exhibits! Not overly long and well worth a visit to brush up on essential German history! Tiny issue with the interactive question displays having the wrong resolution and selectable answers are cut off

This museum was a pleasant surprise. We went towards the end of the day and it was not busy. I would recommend it for kids over six. Once we combined the ADAC membership, it was very reasonable. We spent about 1 hr walking through and interacting with the various exhibits. Unlike most museums which depict history through storyboards and photos, here, visitors "walk" through the history of Germany. The 4D experience was new and made for an engaging experience. The amount of history was enough to keep the adults interested but not so much that the kids got antsy. It isn't for someone looking to experience a deep dive into German history but I will definitely be back.

A good and interactive museum. It isnt as full as you might expect and the NS-Time is only very simple what is as I think pretty good. PS: Nice trenches and 3D effect

My 10year old and I really enjoyed this museum. The details of these spaces and the timeline were amazing from pre-middle ages to the wall coming down. So many visual storytellings and interactions for kids AND grownups to enjoy! As a non-german it was educational and easy to follow. Can highly recommend.

If you want to learn something from German history, go to this museum. But if you already have some education then you should think about it again. From the first Slavic settlers to the Varus Battle against Rome through the Dark Middle Ages to the time of industrialization. and also the recent past is illuminated in this museum: GDR separation and reunification. but everything is presented very nicely and one or the other unknown context is also revealed through the explanations. The children have fun and learn something at the same time.

Very nice museum and experience. It is great for when you want to know general history about Germany. I spend around 1,5 hour is the museum. If you want to know more in dept about certain subjects then you have to go to the cold war, Jewish etc. museum. It is lovely decorated and very kids friendly. You have a kind of 4d experience by walking in the forest, castle and more.

Solo visit on a Wednesday afternoon. This is a museum made for the 21st century. Just the right amount of reading material for a casual visitor with immersive reconstructions of various scenes/environments from German history. I got to print my own custom letterhead, wrote really bad poetry and saw my interpretation of the German flag. This is also the most instagrammable museum in the city. Totally recommend, just remember that this is more of an experience and not so much of an in-depth history lesson.

Great experience! You should reserve plenty of time. Children 8 years and 10 years also had a good time.

This museum is definitely my kind of place. The Deutschland Museum is a fairly new attraction offering families and adults an interactive experience to immerse yourself in Germany's history through time. . On entering the museum visitors place their bags and coats in large lockers and enter using a qr code on your mobile. We booked tickets in advance and I would recommend doing this as the museum gets booked up fairly fast during peak season. . Once inside the interaction begins immediately walking through the dark ages and then on to each century in turn. . The museum shares enough information to really give you what need to know without over supply. This was ideal for our 12 and 7 year olds. . The real highlight for me was the post war section showing the lifestyles, successes, and challenges for Germany throughout the cold war period. . It really is an enjoyable experience and you can book a combined entry ticket with the German Spy Museum to maximise value. . Go check it out

Nice new museum, creative exhibition. Would not suggest for kids in general unless really interested in history as not too much interaction and war coverage not suitable for too young kids. Information is sufficiently high Level to be able to read everything without being saturated; however, a certain level of pre-knowledge is probably necessary to make sense of everything. Surprisingly few people.

Whether you like this museum or not depends highly on your expecations. We unfortunately didn't quite understand that the concept of the museum is to brush over 2000 years of history in one hour. For me, as someone who usually spends up to four hours exploring just one exhibition, this concept is not working. I am sure for others, who spend less time in museums, it is. For them this museum is probably good. I give it four stars to express that the concept can work for a specific group of people but it did not for me. It was my own fault that I didn't read up on the museum before I purchased a ticket.

A thoughtful and engaging introduction to German history for adults and children. First off, the museum exhibits are thoroughly modern and entertaining in presentation. This is not a dusty and dry collection of exhibits. For children, the exhibit are interesting and provide a clear understanding of German history. For adults, the history is not a deep dive. The museum presents just enough to give adults a structured understanding of German history without too much extra. We greatly appreciated the latter and would recommend this museum to anyone visiting Berlin.

Brand new museum so there was still building works going on when I visited. The museum gives an overview of German history over the last 2000 years. Don't expect any detailed insights, it's a superficial sweep over the main political and historical developments in Germany. It starts off with the Varus battle, but you are only led through an imaginary forest with a few warriors running by in the dark distance and some fighting noises in the background. Not exactly the 4-D bloody battle experience I had expected! Other parts of the exhibition are similar, at times quite entertaining, with short interactive quizzes and a choice of short explanatory videos. The approx. 1 hour trip through the museum concludes with German reunification, It's a good place for families, don't expect to be blown away by the experience. Quite pricey at 18 euro for one adult, I believe its cheaper when pre-booked.

Learned a lot in a fun and interactive way. Mostly pretty basic history - which only skimmed WW I & II - but all accessible, memorable and thought-provoking. Hands on stations and quizzes keep it vivid. Take your time through the exhibits and read and try everything!

It's not really a museum since there aren't many original exhibits, but more like an immersive experience. But it manages very well to capture shortly the history of the German peoples. As a history buff I really enjoyed it, and I'm pretty sure other people could enjoy it as well, even children, due to the tour being very interactive. I think it's the place to go for someone on their first trip to Berlin/Germany who'd like to get a short overview of German history.

The exhibitions are entertaining and well made, but the jumps in time felt to be a bit too big. The museum is most suitable for people already rather familiar with the history or maybe children you just want to get excited about history. That said, we had a great time as we were entertained and the mobile network was ok most of the time so we could read up about anything we wondered about. The exhibition had a lot of quizzes and it would have been a lot less fun had the museum been more crowded. Go late if you want to actually try to learn something. Two hours is plenty of time.

Wish there had been more stuff. Germany has a rich history, but it all felt a tiny bit crammed. However, I really enjoyed it. It was very interactive, and you could opt for information in English if you're not too comfortable with German. Reasonable entry price, especially with the Welcome Card for Berlin.

Excellent presentation of German history: very to the point and accessible for all age groups. I found it inspiring to walk through 2000 years of history in such a concise and immersive way. Only drawback, too full for my taste, there was no panel or game without anybody onto it. You need to buy tickets in advance during holidays.

One of the best museums I've visited. The interactive maps, videos, story snippets, printing press that allows you to print your bookmarks. You are in for a delight! Do not book the last hour, as you will need 1,5h to completely and freely explore this wonder.

It took us 2hrs to completely go around the museum. We visited in the evening at 6PM and there was very less crowd. We ordered ticket online. We could calmly go over the museum. History of Germany all the way back from 5BC to today is described very crisply.

It was a very interesting museum with immersive environments, I really enjoyed it. I was worried it might linger on the holocaust, but instead it talks about the outcome of the war more. The museum also had a good amount of early German history too which is what I particularly wanted to see, effects of Rome, holy Roman empire, Martin Luther and Teutonic knights.
