So I’ve been to this place before many times for food but today we went for my besties baby shower. And afternoon tea. The service we received today was second to none! The food was incredible, the staff were brilliant and we felt so looked after. They were kind, patient and went above and beyond and it won’t be forgotten. We have all said it was the best afternoon tea we’d ever had. I’m so grateful, thank you The Bakehouse for helping me make the day super special for my bestie. I’ll be back again soon. I’m obsessed with your place. And a special thank you to Cam. Who was extremely courteous, helpful and polite. You all were. Be back again soon! ♥️

I can't sing the praises of this place enough. Delightful staff, lovely ambience, massive portions of great brekkie scran from a really good menu.

I'd seen this place advertised on Facebook and while I was off work and the weather was glorious we decided to try it out. We parked around the corner from Runcorn Hill as the road outside the restaurant was closed due to a crumbling wall. Despite being advised of a 45 minute wait for food we took an ice cold pint of shandy in the garden at the rear. However due to the hot weather the friendly staff found us a table indoors. Unfortunately they had sold out of the salmon for the Eggs Benedict so I chose to have mine with bacon. The other half chose a Turkish flatbread. Sure enough the food arrived as promised due to regular updates from the staff. Mine was very well presented, hot and delicious with poached eggs that were still runny (the way I like them), crispy bacon and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and seeds which added a nice crunch. The other half"s Turkish flatbread came with two lamb koftas that were delicious and fragrant with spices, large flatbread, a full salad including onion, lettuce, diced tomatoes, pomegranate seeds and a yoghurt and mint dressing. In hindsight we probably could have just ordered the flatbread between us it was that large! We were that full there was no room for dessert which looked amazing and is all made on site. They also offer cocktails and a tapas menu on a Friday and Saturday night and a roast dinner on Sundays. We will certainly be returning to sample these delights but we will be booking in advance 2nd visit 21/04/2023 - Afternoon tea Returned back to The Bake House after our excellent experience last time. This time we opted for the afternoon tea menu. (The table was booked in advance and a £10 deposit was taken per head in case of a no show) The sandwiches were brought on a board with a selection of crisps and side salad. We had chicken and bacon, ham and chutney, egg mayo and cheese and tomato. There was also warm sausage rolls. Tea and coffee were included but the speciality teas such as the matcha latte were extra. And then for the desserts. Presented excellently in a "half bird cage" we had Victoria sponge, chocolate brownies, carrot cake, fresh strawberries, Mars Bar slices, scones with clotted cream and jam and finally edible chocolate plant pots filled with cream and chocolate biscuit "soil" 😊 All in all an excellent experience and we will definitely be returning

Hidden gem! My car was in a local garage and they suggested I tried TBH to get a coffee and do some work. Friendly staff, amazing food and drink, nice courtyard. In the end I was there 4 hours!

Fantastic spot for breakfast and brunch but with good large and small plates for lunch as well. Quaint old post office building with inside and a choice of open or covered outside seating. Sat in 'the love shack' - lovely decorated shack for quieter eating! Full English and vegetarian breakfasts are delicious and non-greasy. Good choice of gins available.

After hearing so much about The Bakehouse , I had finally popped in to try out the food . On a Tuesday morning and it was absolutely packed , which is a great sign ! The atmosphere is very home-like , peaceful and chill .. the staff are excellent , attentive and very polite and the interior decor was great . I had ordered a bagel and a coffee and I must say it was very delicious, the presentation was great and the price was fair . It has to be one of the best , if not the best , spots in Runcorn to eat and I highly recommend to anyone ! Will be back very soon 😋

It's about time I left a review for the Bakehouse! Absolute little gem this place. Love going here with family & friends or just popping in to get a cake to takeaway for my partner. Food is lovely, staff are friendly & we come frequently as a result. Just booked in for tomorrow to bring my Grandparents for the first time - can't believe they haven't been! Looking forward to it! Their sister (well I think it's their daughter) business Butter Wouldn't Melt in Stockton Heath is also a firm favourite. Keep doing what you're doing!

Great place to have breakfast and lunch in Runcorn ❤️. Ate breakfast with my bestie and did a lunch takeaway. Best feeling ever. Definitely doing this again 🥰

Always fantastic and one of the best places to eat in Runcorn. They have a wide variety of breakfasts with loads of healthy options. A great kids menu which avoids the usual nuggets and fish fingers cliche - this full English and pancake stacks. The lunch menu has big hearty bowls like Caesar salad and Bibimbap which is packed with delicious pickled vegetables, rice, egg and spicy Korean sauce. There's a good selection of drinks including the usual coffees and teas, and also beers and cocktails. They are open every day and some evenings and do regular theme night with specialist cocktails and meal deals. Overall an amazing cafe and a hidden gem.

Sadly the recipe for the salt n pepper pigs in blankets has changed massively and nowhere near as good as we've had here previously or it would've been a 5* review. The festive tapas with welcome drink and dessert were great value with santa hats and festive choons thrown in!

Best place for breakfast in Runcorn in my opinion! I always order the American breakfast and a chai latte which is delicious , the prices are reasonable. They are dog friendly and there is a park nearby. They have a great range of food and drinks including alcohol. The homemade cakes and brownies are good too. It is worth booking a table as you can’t always guarantee you’ll get in. Sometimes the service can be slow, but it’s worth it. Would recommend!

Visited this place twice, the food being good on both occasions but service lacking. Last visit the food take 50 minutes despite it seeming quiet and with no warning about a delay from the waiter who seated us. No apology for the delayed food. Waiter asked me if I wanted another drink before then ignoring me to deal with another customer. Won't return now despite the food being quite good.

Never disappointed when visiting the old post office. Far too many choices though, so bad to share once again ☕️🍰

We went for breakfast yesterday which was no better than your standard greasy spoon. We were sat upstairs in a room where the tables were on top of each other and the lights didn't work. The staff were playing music very loud so the could hear it downstairs and my shoes were sticking to the floor. For a large full English breakfast it cost well over £12 and that was without a cuppa. I don't mind paying slightly over the odds if the food and environment warrants it. This place was just a rip off for what it is. You will be better of in a basic cafe where the floors actually see a mop.

Great food, friendly staff. You have to wait a bit after being served. However, it is understood as they are always busy and the food is very fresh and tasty so worth the wait. Would highly recommend for breakfast/ lunch or just coffee and cake.

Food was absolutely delicious, my daughter had a cough so the owner brought her a glass of water without me asking. Really cosy and friendly. Kids meals are great, lots of healthy bits.
