Les portes décorées de cette très vieilles rue de Funchal sont, pour la plupart, à voir. Certaines heures, surtout pendant les vacances, il y a beaucoup trop de monde dans cette petite rue. Pour vraiment l'apprécier venez plutôt le matin.

In this typically seaside neighborhood, they have given a touch of life to the streets with this urban art proposal, which gives color and atmosphere to the area. The streets are narrow and with low houses, perfect for a walk. Despite it being low season, I found quite a few people, and since there are many restaurant terraces, there are especially narrow areas.

I liked to visit this area, after we found it walking on narrow streets in Zona Velha. It is located between Farmers market and Teleferico Funchal - Monte. There are a lot of cozy restaurants and cafe, where you can take a rest if it is warm outside. I strongly recommend to visit, if you are in Funchal

You should definitely plan a visit to the street. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful motifs, many restaurants invite you to linger.

Explore the painted doors. Rua Santa Maria is a street of mainly cafes and restarants in the old town but artists have made a feature of the doors by painting them in fantastic pictures and patterns which seem to change on a regular basis. It is known as the Art of Open Doors, although most of them are physically closed, of course. As you stroll down the street browsing the restaurant menus and getting greeted by waiters you can always pretend that you are just here for the art.

The painting on the doors are amazing to see, however the street is extremely crowded with multiple bars and restaurants covering the doors and the art. Worth seeing but I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to see them.

đź‘Ťđź‘Ť Nice. A small cozy park in the very center of the city. There is a public toilet. There is an outdoor cafe. Lots of benches and walking paths to walk around the park. There is a fountain. Opposite the park there is a famous restaurant, as well as a taxi rank. The park is full of amazing plants...
