The place is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood, some minutes walking from the city center, but it is worth the effort or just drive by bus or taxi. The room was clean, the bathroom is nice, with western toilet and a good shower. Fair price for travellers and an amazing hospitality. Residency is run by a very decent, fair and friendly family. I felt very welcome and they helped me with everything that I asked for. They kept the place clean all the time and are extremely respectful towards their customers. I was happy I could support this beautiful family by staying there. Most important for me is that they are honest, fair and respectful. I am more than happy with my stay. Decent room for a fair price and welcome smile - all that I needed. Thank you 🙏

Alas, such a basic things - bathroom's door lock, which can actually be repaired by any normal man within 5 minutes, is broken. Expect someone bumps in when you're urinating or taking shower! Rotten stairway, broken main gate lock, cobwebs in the corners, pieces of wires sticking out here and there... Ash from cigarettes is dropped simply on floor, and even on table and on sofa! (They don't use ashtrays, wow). Empty Vodka and beer bottles.. It's a typical drunkard's house, I realized it the moment I came in. But, alas, I had to stay somewhere few nights.. Drunkard's name is Priyan. First few days were bearable, except that I got sick from using semi-broken 20-30 years old fan (it wouldn't work on 1st or 2nd speed, only option was highest 3rd speed, so I got fever next morning). Actually 1 day was lost completely because of this 😟. But then Priyan gave me better fan.. I would consider my stay near pleasant, cause there were no guests most of the time, hence - almost peaceful (not counting stink of tobacco sometimes). Then, after some days thus passed, bad thing has happened. Two foreigners came one night.. The next day at around midday they left, PICKING UP A PAIR OF MY NEW GOOD SANDALS WITH THEM SILENTLY. Right in a broad day light, two western men have stolen my expensive sandals from Priyan's managed house. Obviously, they grabbed my shoes cause nobody watched them the moment they left, (and there is no camera..). Priyan's wife is normal woman, but she has to suffer with her alcoholic husband. The family is very poor because Priyan is such an amazing manager: daily he wastes money for alcohol and tobacco, but blames others (including even government) for his financial problems. Not only he never warned me that I must keep my shoes in my room, but he never compensated me for the stolen property, and, moreover, he paid me with insult only - by shouting at me and blaming myself for "terrible crime" of approaching his window. (I came near his window cause of emergency situation: the loss of my sandals.. I thought we must call those criminals. But only Priyan had their number. However he was "sleeping" in his room after heavily drinking previous night.. It looks like working during day, sleeping during night - a normal schedule - isn't usual for him.. His wife was out of room of course when I dared to approach his window). Alright, my story is getting too long. Don't stay if you have valuables, or keep your eye on everything, including even shoes. This place is cheap, yes. And now you know exactly why it is so cheap.

The guests are super friendly and warm and they will always welcome you with a smile but the place in general is untidy and unkept. The room has a good size and is clean enough, you will use a shared bathroom that was good size and it's also clean. Somehow they were sleeping in the leaving room and it made us feel bad, like we were taking space from them. The receiving area is a whole mess, full of things and quite dirty. The price is fine and as mentioned they will always be helpful and nice, but giving a better review will be unfair to other homestays.

This villa has comfortable and clean rooms for a good prices and is close to shops and resaurants. The hosts were amazing and kind. Priyan drove me to the store and made sure I found everything that I needed which was really helpful. They can also book safaris and whale/dolphin watching at better rates than tour agencies. I would highly recommend this stay.

Very comfortable bed with very kind hosts…the house is located 15 minutes walking distance to the main road and other food places. The beautiful smiling faces and kindness of the host couple dare to stay there. It was a clean place with fan to keep whole room cool, so you can have relaxing sleep all night with a real cheap price. Thank them for this opportunity, we are very happy to meet them.

Priyan is a great person, very helpful and really nice. the hotel is very clean and beautiful. We stayed just for one night but we would have liked to stayed for longer. I really appreciate the welcoming. I honestly recommend this place to anyone.

Clean and comfortable room, big bed, mosquito net and good bathroom. The place is well located, 5 mins by auto to Dutch fort or 30 mins by walk, also close to a bus stop heading there. And the best of all is the friendly family owning the place. Fully recommended.

This is a local lovely family house. Location is good, a few minutes can walk to main street. Lots of thanks and love to this family for provide a very low price and kindness for backpacker. There is something you should know before booking. 1. This is a local family house, they live/eat/laugh/sleep/grow here. 2. Become parts of this fami. And this is your house. Make urself comfortable. 3. If you don't know how to use mosquito net. Go google or ask Priyan

Great location - I always enjoyed walking back from the city centre, you get to say hi to locals and I always felt safe as a solo female traveler. The hosts are great to talk to and will make sure you have everything you may possibly need!

Good place to stay

Priyan and his girlfriend were amazing hosts for us. They went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. We had a large, comfortable bed and large clean shower to use, at a great price. Their villa is just a short tuk tuk or bus ride from Galle Fort and the town centre. We really appreciated our stay at Villa Vidura and would definitely go back. Thanks!

The place is most suitable for small range events where less than 300 people participate. Main building was so hot during the lunch hours.

Nice and clean place but need to share a bathroom for 4, 3 rooms and need to bring towels and soap.

It's a nice interesting place to saty. Very low prices and it worths for the facilities. And most importantly a friendly staff like own family. They care lot about us. Recommend this place to stay as your own home. And the place is near to Galle city, Galle Dutch Fort, Unawatuna, Rumassala. So you can have a very interesting nice vacation there.

Comfortable house with very friendly hosts! The room is confortable and big. The house is clean and also the toilet. There is a balcony, good for breakfast or chill at evening. Good WiFi. There is room for doing laundry. The breakfast is very good and also they have transport service with very good prices. Walking distance to some good restaurants.
