The Old Dutch Hospital is a posh shopping zone housed in the renovated and repurposed colonial era dutch hospital. It has quite a few big brands of Sri Lanka including the very famous MINISTRY OF CRAB and ODEL. There are a number of fine dining restaurants there and a a few bars. In the evening open air concerts are held and a bit of dancing takes place too. It's quite a chilled out place to go to.

The old dutch hospital in Galle is one of the oldest buildings inside the historic World Heritage site of the Dutch Fort and dates back to the Dutch colonial era in Sri Lanka. The building depicts 17th century Dutch colonial architecture. Like many Dutch buildings of that era, the walls made using cabok (coral stone) are 50cm(20inc) thick and massive teak beams can be seen preserved todate. Paved with granite the upper floor is wooden. The Dutch built it as a hospital and in 1850 the British converted it into a barracks and later used it as an administrator premises. Following Sri Lanka's independence in 1948 it was used as the Galle Town Hall. In 2014, the building having been restored to it's original state , was developed into a shopping and dining presinct. A must visit if you are the in the Old Dutch Fort, Galle.

Old dutch hospital is a restaurant complex situated inside the famous Galle Dutch Fort. It was used by the Dutch as a hospital, later renovated by the Sri Lankan government now used as a restaurant complex and a shopping mall where several exotic restaurants, cafes and shops are located. The prices here are a bit on the higher side given it's mainly aiming tourists rather than local tourists. However, it's a great place to hangout, have a drink or have lunch as it's located by the sea.

Has plenty of different restaurants and some jewelery stores. Has a good parking space also. The view of the sea from the restaurant balconies in the upper floor is great.

The building itself is beautiful. The shops and restaurants inside expensive and mostly owned by foreigners I believe.

Cluster of shops, bars, restaurants and others in the Old Dutch building. Enclosed, yet open to the sea. Attraction for tourists and locals.

The cafe was good, great and decent. It is a small place but very cute and just to our expectations. The pricing was a bit on the high side but was worth it, too.

Nice relaxing place. Like the young vibe. A drink typically cost around 1500 or below. Meals are not available all the time but depending on the availability. Evening is the best time to enjoy the view and the sunset.

This tourist attraction is truly a sight to behold, offering a plethora of restaurants catering to various budget categories. Additionally, visitors can indulge in a refreshing drink at one of the available bars. Old Dutch Hospital turned into an attractive restaurant complex. Mostly upscale restaurants and shops are located. A separate area with well maintained clean washrooms available. Highly recommend.

It is located inside the old fort that dominates the entrance to the bay and harbor of Galle in Sri Lanka. The fort is well-preserved and has been used as a tourist attraction, with a multitude of small hotels, restaurants, bars and other various types of shops. Worth the visit.

Enjoyed the restaurants and the ocean views. Galle Fort is something else. During this low tourist/post lockdown time, it's best to come in the morning/afternoon as by evening most items on the menu are not available...Kiaan

Nice serene location. Over a period of time it has become slightly overrated now. Way too expensive restaurants in the complex.

Established in the 17th century, the Old Dutch Hospital is one of the oldest and most well-preserved buildings in Colombo. It was built with the intention of providing medical aid to the workers of the Dutch East India Company. Although the building served many different purposes over the years, it has now been turned into a shopping centre. Although the building is furnished with several shops, Odels is one particular place that deals in top-quality clothes and souvenirs. The building also appeals to foodies who can choose from the multiple cafes and food joints that thrive there. Located in Galle Fort, Old Dutch Hospital remains one of the most entertaining attractions in Colombo.
