Did not have a good experience buying from them and was overcharged. I have bought a 0.3 caret unheated pink sapphire for 58000 rupees plus white gold chain, custom made into a bracelet. The colour of the gem was good but it was too small to be charged this price after doing some research. When I received the finished product, I can tell that the job was rushed and they did not fit the gem properly. It was slanted and the chain was dull. They also put a link that is way too small for the bracelet to even be linked up. They did rework to make it look better but the shop owner later told us that the rock is only worth 0.35 carat x 91500 rupees, which means he charged us 200USD for a shared chain between me and my friend. Shop elsewhere have quoted me a better price with an offer to further lower the price. For the quality of the job it is definitely not worth the higher price we have paid.

From the moment we walked in the staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and give us the best advice. I wanted a small sapphire embedded into an existing ring and both my partner and I chose simple sapphire wedding rings. The wonderful team went above and beyond to help me select the right thing for me, despite me wanting to try a million things! They weren’t pushy at all, the prices were very reasonable and the quality of the final ring was impeccable. There are so many jewellery shops in this area you could easy feel lost where to go, I can highly recommend Lanka Gems and have even taken their details to consider getting more items made and sent to the UK.

My ring was designed by me with the assistance of the very friendly owners and I loved watching the finishing touches of my ring at the factory. We were not forced or pressurised with the stuff. They helped us choose jewellery of our price range. The most important highlight was that they certified each item we bought from them. Visited their store somewhere in 2019. I got myself a customized ring made at their factory and since we were flying the day after, they were ready to deliver my ring. We discovered this shop last year on our trip and they custom made the most beautiful moonstone pendant in rose gold. I was even able to visit the room where the jewelry is made in the back of the shop. This year, I asked them to recreate a topaz pendant in a special cut - based on an image I sent via Whatsapp. They did an amazing job. I’ll definitely buy from them again in the future!
