The place has a nice view but when it comes to customer satisfaction, it sucks big time. They don’t care about locals. We went there with a bunch of people but they just rejected our order saying that they’re too busy with the foreigners. Experienced the same thing for 3 freaking days. Better to advertise foreigners only without ruining the vibe of people. Zero customer service 🤮

We stayed one night in 2 villas with our families and our experience was truly amazing. Given the economic situation in country the hotel staff did an excellent job to maintain the property and the hygiene level was excellent. Food was the best part of the stay and everyone truly enjoyed all food varieties and special thanks goes to the kitchen staff for this. 😊 I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a peaceful and calm stay.

It was a wonderful stay at south lake resort. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. Superb staff and they were really supportive and reaponsive. Wonderful atmosphere... Had a lot of fun at game zone too.. Thank you very much.. 👍👍👍

Had a wonderful time here. Rooms were comfortable and had enough space. AC machines installed didn't have capacity to cool whole room. But it was not unbearably bad. Food was good. Often it's a set menu but if there's enough guests they'll arrange a buffet with good variation. Staff at this property are all great. Reception staff went above and beyond to make the stay smooth from the reservation to check-out. Special thank to Ms.Oshani for that. Game room and boat ride can really make the stay going with some variety. Swimming pool was good. Chalet we got faced to the open area that usually dayout activities arranged. This can be bit disturbing to the guests in chalets. Overall it was good and really worth for what we paid.

We had our wedding on 2nd November here and it was one of the best decisions l've ever made in my life. Atmosphere was pleasing , food was super delicious , staff were friendly , especially Mr. Pradeep(Event cocoordinator) is very helpful. We could celebrate our dream day at its best in south lake resort. Highly recommend❤️🔥 Thankyou so much for your immense support, for making it happen❤️🎊️

The place is located on the other side of the beach next to the Galle Matara highway. Apart from private vehicles one can reach this place by train and getting ofg at Habaraduwa Station which is only 1.5km from the resort. Rooms are arranged in small challets of 2 rooms which can accommodate 2 or 3 people in a room depending on its size. They are clean tidy and spacious Place has two pools and one facing the koggala lake with beautiful view. Food was awesome to be honest give real worth for money. Service overall was average since some of our group had to wait extra 2hrs until 4pm to check in where the scheduled check in time was 2 pm and the hotel staff was rather ok with that since it was a busy weekend. The hotel staff needs to improve a lot on communication and conflict handling with customers. Anyway the overall stay was pleasant 🙂 There are boat rides along koggala river/lake to famous Madol Doowa.

We went there for lunch. The food was delicious and the portions were too big, we weren't able to finish it completely. You must try their chocolate brownies. It's heavenly. The server was extremely nice and had great attitude. Although they had not turned on the air conditioning in the restaurant area and it was a bit hot in the room. This is understandable considering the situation in the country. Still, it was great to have A/C since the weather was hot as hell today.

We had an excellent stay. Staff were amazing. Room was comfortable and very clean. Nice location. Delicious foods. Special thank for the kitchen staff. And also there was a baby pool, my kids enjoyed very much. Highly recommended this place. Thank u very much team south lake. We really hope to come back.

Though it is a not very big place definitely it is one of the best places to stay.The chalet was very nice and clean. They also had a private beach which was great.the hotel was clean and the staff was nice. But what I like the most was the food. Though it's not a huge spread They had about 20 to 30 items in the buffet and every single one of them was very tasty even the desserts.they also had a gaming area, boat ride etc. So I would recommend this place to anyone. But always check whether buffet is available cos I heard that they don't provide buffet daily. Overall had a wonderful stay. I would like to thank Mr. Rasika and the staff for arranging a wonderful stay.

I had an exceptional stay at the South lake resort. The staff was friendly and attentive, the hotel was beautifully appointed, and the prices were reasonable. Every little touch made me feel pampered and the attention to detail was exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel for a luxurious and memorable stay at a great value.

We had a family gathering recently. It was a great place. Very clean and the service was excellent. Food were delicious. Swimming pool was very spacious and clean. Access to boat safari is great and was a wonderful experience. Thanks so much to the staff.

we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights with full board. We had a great times! The staff were very kind and the food was excellent! Also very clean rooms. Two large swimming pools and a small but pretty beach about two minutes from the hotel. Highly recommended!

We came for dayout with nearly 64 people. We were given two rooms which was clean and comfortable. We also had the chance of using the two pools which was really spacious to accommodate all . The food was tasty and the dessert were good. They had a mix of Sri Lankan and international buffet. We were able play some out door games , as they had a spacious lawn.And also there was a game corner which was very interesting, and most of students were occupied there after lunch. I must specially thank Mr.Rasika and the team for making us feel comfortable.

During the recent long weekend, my friends and I stayed at this resort. It was a nice and peaceful place with a simple, elegant look. The staff was friendly and helpful when we booked and checked out. The rooms were big and clean, which we liked. But, I think they should add locks to the bathrooms in rooms with three beds. It would give more privacy. Overall, we had a good time, and I'd recommend this place for a relaxing trip.

A-MA-ZING hotel! The best we stayed in Sri Lanka. Great rooms, food, staff, pools (there are 2) and location. There is also a great beach across from the hotel, ideal for spending a carefree morning. Watching the sunset from that beach was one of my best memories from Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.

What an absolutely wonderful experience! Our stay at South Lake Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. The level of service we received was off the charts, making us feel like we were part of the royal family. The kitchen staff, in particular, were incredibly kind and attentive. While we missed out on the buffet during our stay, the food we did have was simply great. But what truly set this place apart was the fantastic boat ride they organized for us. We got to explore some incredible spots, including a spice garden, a cinnamon garden, and a beautiful Buddha temple. These added experiences made our stay here even more memorable. In a nutshell South Lake Resort exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable visit!

I had selected the resort for my wedding and I received an exceptional service. The staff was compatible with every other vendor attended the event. They made sure to make everyone feel great at the event with their wonderful food. The stay afterwords was also very pleasant. Rooms were spacious and in great condition. Food was great. Pool was enjoyable while being safe. I had an awesome experience with my event and stay at Southlake, thanks to Mr Sajith Kariyawasam and the staff.

From start to finish, the South Lake Resort made our wedding dream come true. We got married on the scenic floating deck by the lake and had our reception in the waterfront hall. The venue is breathtaking. The Waterfront hall has gorgeous scenery sitting by a beautiful lake and a pool with its unique wooden craftings. The service is spectacular. Mr. Pradeep and the staff were very helpful and supportive to organize our big day perfectly. They were responsive, flexible, professional, and always supportive and went out of their way to accommodate any and all requests. Our guests said it was one of the best wedding food they have been served. I am beyond happy with my experience. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the down south, this is it. No need to look further. You won’t regret it!!!!

The place was pretty great. I went there for a wedding. So, there some beautiful exterior decorations(Idk if they were out-sourced or not). The only reason for the -1 star is the food. Food was not that great compared to the place. The scenario was awesome as it has a river next to the hotel. Very close to the Madolduwa and walking distance to the sea. Friendly customer service. Really recommended for a outdoor wedding.

Spent a night at South Lake Resort on half board basis. Room name was 'Olu'. Very spacious and a comfortable room. Interior lighting and conditions were really good and liked it. Amenities were good. Booking and check in process was smooth. No paper fillings as we had submitted our details on line prior to visit. Liked it too. However the meals were not so good. Even though they offer 'All you can eat' buffet, the meal varieties were limited. Couldn't find much freedom of choice there in both dinner and breakfast. Some of the items of the buffet were not adequately filled when those were consumed and the late comers had to take what was left by early comers. Staff were friendly and supportive. Overall experience was average. Despite that, recommending to experience the hotel comfort and surrounding. Hope the hotel management will seriously look in to the meal buffet and improve the quality.

I went with my colleagues and we did a group booking on a weekend. The location was very easy to access, the rooms were good and the pool was very nice. My kid loved it. However, the food was not that great and we had two incidents during the dinner. First, one of my friends has requested to refill the cheese cake around 8 pm. But they filled it with a different one and had an argument with the chef. Second, since we were having a drink by the pool side and the buffet is closed by 9.30, we requested to bring 4 plates from the buffet and they did it. But when we try to eat them around 10.15, the fried rice was heavily rotten and couldn't eat at all. So we complained this to the manager and his reply was fried rice is cooked at 6.30 and that's why we urge to finish the dinner by 9.30. Now we eat rice everyday and knows very well that cooked rice can keep far longer than 3 hours. Anyway, we didn't take it further and had dinner with what was left. So our group had a kind of bad experience and we are reluctant to recommend this place.

Spent a night with my family in South Lake Resort. The stay was perfect. It has a beautiful surrounding. The resort is situated in the lake side but they have a separate private beach area. Even though it was a busy weekend, the staff were very friendly and showed the true meaning of the hospitality. We really hope to come back.

We have also seen few boiled eggs with the shells were not cleaned properly which surely is unhygienic. Please pay more attention on cleanliness and hygiene of foods. Your staff were friendly and supportive. Overall experience was average. Hope the hotel management will seriously look in to the meal buffet and improve the quality.

Best value for money. Excellent for surfers. To minutes walk to South Beach spot As it is second line to the beach it is half priced but offers spacious rooms, air condition, very clean. The Internet can be a bit better.

The resort is a excellent place to spend the holidays with the loved ones. Rooms were clean & comfortable. The staff was very friendly and their service was excellent and more importantly the location was pretty great to relax and enjoy. Highly recommended to spend a holiday.

Had our anniversary party at South Lake on July 2022. From the day that we visited first , Mr. Thushara and Mr. Rasika were very helpful in fulfilling the requirements of the function. They customized the menu on our request and food was delicious on the day. all participants were happy with the food. Nice location with the nearby lake. Highly recommend!

Fantastic sights and hospitality! The rooms were clean and comfy, the food was fantastic, and there was plenty to do! More than worth the price! Staff was pretty great and friendly, and accomodated all of our requests. This is a wonderful place to spend a weekend out, with access to both koggala oya (there are boat rides available) and the beach!
