super railway station, beautifull .. i like this

It's a bit confusing to figure out on which counted should a person buy their train ticket, but the staff will redirect everyone. The trains are always late and full so I took the train from Weligama to Colombo. Well, it was quite stressful, as the train was packed and I was the whole time standing as a pole, together with most of the travelers. There is also nothing to look at outside of the window at this particular train road, so download a lot of podcasts. The next time I would go with a bus, just because there is more buses coming everywhere and there is a higher chance that most of the people sit.

Busy terminus Station which is predominantly used by locals and less so by tourists It has a sort of charm, but is not in particularly good condition and the services are not generally punctual nor efficient. Rolling stock is very old and offered in 2nd and 3rd class but can be overcrowded

Galle railway station is one of the main stations in sri lanka. This has the unique design which doesn't have any other railway stations. Every train which arrives here should go backward. Because this is a dead end. This station is very attractive and historical. There are washrooms and dining facilities here. But cleaning and maintenance is not adequate nowadays.

3rd class Train ticket price from Galle to fort is 220. There is a very crowded place in morning time. Toilets are clean but not in good condition. If you come at morning time, you have to wait in the queue. Therefore, it is had better to come early there.

If you came by tuktuk/ train/ bus/ car to Galle and you don’t want to carry your bags whole day, definitely drop your bags at the train station! For 50 rupees per bag you can leave them at a secured place, make sure to ask for a receipt where they mention how many bags you had (just for safety). The train station is mostly used by locals, but there’s enough information you can find in English (departure times, etc.). Be sure to buy your ticket early so you can have a seated place! Last to mention is be aware for the tuktuk guys in front of the station and hold your personal belongings close to you! If something happens you can always go to the railway police station inside the train station.

Galle is one of the major railway stations in Sri Lanka, that is situated in the coastal line. It is a very busy place during the peak hours. It is a unique station where the line towards Matara (continuation of coastal railway line) diverts about a kilometer before the station. It is predominantly used by the local community and less frequently by the tourists who visit the attractions in Galle.

Small station with good facilities. If you're a tourist, you can leave the baggage and backpacks in the storage facility with few rupees. You could head out to explore the Galle fort or the Galle park opposite of the station. It does get very very hot in the summer. The toilets and indoor waiting space is horrible and not maintained. One of the main railway station in the south of sri lanka.all the trains are stop here. Situated centre of the galle city very next to galle bus station. Not much busy like colombo railway station. Behind the station there are small canal . Lot of locals and foreigners are use this sation due to galle is one of the main tourist city in the south sri lanka.

Major Railway station in Sri Lanka. Many Trains towards Colombo ,Kandy,Anuradhapura and Matara starts from here. Can make reservations for seats for selected trains. Separate counters for 1st 2nd and 3 rd class tickets.Wash rooms and waiting area available,cleanliness is acceptable.Staff supportive, Bus stand is just next to the station is a added convenience

Way better than Matara Railway Station. Every Train Stop here and change the side of the engine. Usually trains are waiting here 5 - 10 minutes. Train station is located near Galle Bus stand. So It easy to access the train that people come by busses. also Not too much crowded..

A small historical railway station. Located near galle bus tand. Could head out to explore the galle fort and the galle park opposite of the station. Cleaning and maintenance is not adequate. Not in good condition. Parking available. Ticketing officer behaved so rudely to customers. Galle to kandy 2nd class ticket price is 800 rupees. There is one ATM teller.

Well maintained important railway station with beautiful architecture in the southern railway line which provides immense service to the community . Close proximity to bus stand and many important government offices is an added advantage . Clean Retiring rooms with convenient facilities are available at this station.

The train from galle to colombo fort at 08:50 is on platform 4. Fortunately, a local reminded me, otherwise I would have taken the wrong train😅 The third-class carriage fare is 240Rs. Remember to take the left seat when you arrive in Colombo. You can see the sea when you approach Colombo.

This is a great railway station in down south of county. It has a wide space to stay passengers . But train schedules are not functioning on time. Normally you have to stay at least half an hour to catch the train.

It is really good maintenance by the staff of Railway in Sri Lanka.

Galle Station is located in the centre of Galle. It is just northwest of the Galle International Cricket Ground. Galle's City Hall is next to the station and the historic Galle Fort is a short distance from the station. Galle station is designed as a terminus station. Thus trains have to back out of the station to continue towards an onward destination. Passengers enter the station from the south and trains approach from the north. The station's terminal layout has posed some problems in its operation, since all trains have to change directions and reverse out of the station to continue on to their destinations. This can cause long turn-around times and it places the passengers in the opposite direction of where they had been facing. In 2011, diesel multiple units (DMU) were introduced, as part of a line upgrade. The DMUs reduce turn-around times as locomotives do not need to run around and change ends.

The Galle Railway Station is second last stop of the southern province and the rail road links to the Final Destination to the Matara. It's situated proper place in the Galle City, anyone can walk to the Public Bustand, Galle International Cricket Stadium, Police Station, Post Office, Bank of Ceylon and Dutch fort within 5 to 20 minutes. there is one COM bank ATM Teller Mechine out left side of the station. The place is very clean and, but the Toilets are very Dirty, and also don't have inough facility room to get rest for Gents(like a Garage).

Highway, international stadium,road development but this station is just what it was now for years Time ,,and sideways the train engine always there just viewed from (channel road Havelock road Galle ---could convinced that this station and train some what not in this 21st century. පරණ කොච්චී at display yet.

Good location to bus station and fort is just a few minutes away..well maintained and one of the main station in southern railway

One of main railway station of Srilanka.lot of foreign and local travel day by day to Galle railway station.location is good and you can find trains to Colombo fort or Mathara.most of times trains wait 10 15 minutes that station.train staff are friendly and they help to people who requested help regarding the train schedule

Best location. This is a durdend head railway station in Sri Lanka Railways. Galle is the main city of southern province Sri lanka. If every train comes to Galle then train needs to change the driver cabins. Locomotives need to be rotate. Good landscape. loved it
