We stopped for a pint and stayed for a couple because the music and atmosphere were great. After dinner we stopped again for another pint and more music. It’s the best place in Galway for traditional Irish music (at least today!)

One of the best of many great spots in Galway to pretend you're Irish. A Céilí band makes a daily appearance and plays at the table inside then door. If you don't like their music, you probably don't have a pulse. If they don't show up while you're there, the pub is usually packed full of grizzled old gents on the Guinness, and the pub is situated right at the heart of the city, right opposite the hottest of many busking hospots.

A must stop for Irish Trad and central meeting spot in Galway. Top Class musicians host twice nightly sessions and you never know who will pop in! I wandered by one evening and Frankie Gavin was performing. It's a great pub sure to bring smiles!

This is a great place in Galway for excellent traditional Irish music. I didn’t eat or drink there, so I can’t speak to that. The pub was full, so I imagine that there was a good pour on the Guinness.

So as far as the places you should check out for a Trad session... this is definitely at the top. Much better than Crane Bar. The people here were definitely more interested in actually listening to the music than they were over at Crane Bar.. damn shame because those musicians may have been better than these. Get there at least 30-45 minutes early to have a chance at a seat near the music. Bonus points for being the Liverpool supporters bar!

The Irish music wafted out to the streets drawing the crowds like pied piper. Really welcoming staff despite the busyness and the musicians were so down to earth and wear their talents so lightly. Really enjoyed the evening.

One of the best pints of Guinness in Galway! Small little pub but lots of character and the best atmosphere. Always a little trad music playing in the corner which is such a delight. Little seating area out the front and beer garden out the back! An absolute gem of a pub.

One of galway finest establishments. A great place to get a pint and an great view of the hustle and bustle of the city. And when there isn't fabulous traditional music happening in the bar, you are still set to view the street performers and sit at leisure. Great venue

This was my first visit as an American to an authentic Irish pub and I really enjoyed the visit. Great live Irish music and plenty of pint choices. Opened in 1905. Friendly efficient service.

Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere with traditional Irish music at 6pm and 930pm nightly. Bartenders were all friendly and efficient. Musicians were very good and played a long time. Enjoyed ‘refreshments’ with locals and other people visiting from out of town.

We started our day here and ended the night here as well. Bartenders were amazing well handled with a sense of humor. Not sure how they accomplish us all. Music "trad" spot on with some vocals and the demand for "quiet in the house" with respect for the singer. An entire pub quiet listening. Wish I could have the same in my classroom but my voice not as wonderful. Lovely.

It is one of the few pubs in Galway city that serves large bottles of Guinness off the shelf or from the cooler. I was with a party of 12 construction workers. The Craig was great, day and night. Tradional music begins at 6 30pm, superb local musicians. The lads said the price of drinks was reasonable.

Best ever pub! Beautiful atmosphere. The traditional Irish music is heart warming. Loved it here, it’s a must! Highly recommend trying the Murphy stout and red breast whiskey 👌🏽

I loved the musicians sessions here. The place was packed so we couldn't get a spot to sit but we still got served and everyone was friendly.

Great pint and some live traditional music even for the early birds. Crowded though so can’t be shy about where you sit/stand.

Quite possibly the best pint of Guinness I've ever had in my life (and I've had plenty in Ireland). It was delectably sweet and perfectly poured.
