Joli petit musée. Tarif bas.

The Clemenceau museum is very intimate with pieces intact since his death in 1929. A great character in the history of FRANCE 🇫🇷 Thank you to the two young women present during my visit for their kindness. 👏🏻😸 I highly recommend !!!

This is a museum where Georges Clemenceau, the French Prime Minister during World War I, lived in an actual apartment from 1896 to his death. On the first floor there are records about him (newspapers, paintings, letters etc), and on the ground floor you can see the dining room, bedroom, bureau and garden. He is known for his distinctive mustaches and photographs of tigers and Clemenceau's words below the museum paintings stand out. Et quand on le dit, il faut avoir le courage de le faire.>> (You have to know what you want. When you know it, you have to have the courage to say it. And when we say, you have to have the courage to do it.) It is not large, so it takes about 20 minutes to look around, and it is recommended to check the website in advance as the museum is often closed depending on circumstances.

As a Parisian, I was born and lived here, and I know Paris very well. I can say that the apartment of General le Tigre Clemenceau, even if it seems small from the outside, is one of the most beautiful heritage apartments in Paris. . I love the smell of history there, its unique bathroom, its rare and unique office, everything. The details are very beautiful, the woodwork, the garden, it is the jewel of the Passy district, a stone's throw from the house of my favorite writer Honoré de Balzac, I advise you to visit this magnificent apartment. I hope that the books in the Tiger's private library will be maintained and cataloged, as some of them are outdated. I thank the two ladies (guides) very much, they are wonderful, very polite and I talked to them well.

A little jewel of a museum. Well kept with lots of interesting news about Clémenceau: anti-colonialist arduous defender of Dreyfus, Minister of War during WWI. One can see his bedroom where nothing has changed since his death. Well worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) Thanks to its very well-designed scenography and numerous supporting objects, the museum retraces the life of Clemenceau. We then find ourselves immersed in his apartment where nothing seems to have moved. It is an exceptional place! Thanks to the staff for their hospitality.

The Musée Clemenceau is a house museum located in the 16th arrondissement at 8, rue Benjamin Franklin, Paris, France. It is open in the afternoons of Tuesday through Saturday, except in August; an admission fee is charged. The closest métro stations are Passy and Trocadéro. The museum preserves the apartment and garden of Georges Clemenceau (1841–1929), French statesman and writer, who lived there from 1895 until his death. The museum opened to the public in 1931, and preserves the apartment as it was on the day of his death. Its first floor exhibits many objects reflecting Clemenceau's life and work, including the famous coat and gaiters he wore during his visits to the front in World War I, as well as portraits, photos, books, newspapers, and manuscripts.

Small museum but no crowds at all. You start the visit with second floor, which is very much text and photo based. Then you go to first floor which is where Clemenceau used to live, and I think this is the interesting part of the museum. It is a very subjective museum though, it doesn't portray Clemenceau with both his positives and negatives but pretty much only positives. This must be because the museum is found and run by the Clemenceau foundation.

Very nice visit! A warm and efficient welcome, an attractive synthetic, multimedia exhibition gallery upstairs and on the ground floor, the heritage apartment in very good state of conservation! All this around a key character in our history, who covered all the major subjects, colonization, secularism, public order, technical progress and social transformation, the arts, etc. We know Clemenceau's words, implacable, sharp, chiseled, to the point that the man appears austere and intimidating. The place recalls all of this but also reveals the sensitivity of the hidden man, his taste for Japan, the garden, reading. He had enemies but he was able to attract excellent friends and behave with infinite loyalty himself. We owe him a lot in preserving the work of Claude Monet for example. I wrote a complete article aimed primarily at history-geography teachers: https://www.clionautes.org/le-musee-clemenceau.html

(Translated by Google) Impressive to enter the apartment where lived, almost 33 years this great man that was Mr. Georges Clémenceau, to see his office, his bed, his small objects and his garden !!! The Clemenceau museum is located at 8 rue Benjamin-Franklin, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Installed in the apartment on the ground floor where Georges Clemenceau lived from 1896 until his death in 1929, it is devoted to the life and work of the latter !!! An entire room, the largest, overlooking the garden, was devoted to work. Clemenceau had a Parisian cabinetmaker made a very large horseshoe desk. All around the room, books testify to the eclecticism of his readings, objects reveal strong artistic tastes and friendships, and recall the many trips he made. That was a real prime minister !!!
