Giant tiger often has decent selection and decent flyer deals. My biggest problems are the quality of the clothing is often subpar, but for the price it's hard to go wrong. My biggest problem is now they're moving to self checkout and their self checkout is not friendly to people with sensory issues. The machines are very loud at every item. I can't do it. I probably won't be back. Edit: if you use the hand scanner, it's much quieter and makes it mostly tolerable if there aren't too many people around you. Plus the employee complaining about how "nobody wants to work as a cashier" was pretty obnoxious. Nobody wants to work as a cashier for minimum wage. People can't live on minimum wage anymore. I understand that self checkout is better value for a company than employees, especially paying employees a living wage, but I sure as heck don't want to hear employees complaining about the fact that there aren't enough employees when they're the ones acting as wage scabs.

Usefull selection of products however there are always long lines/slow cashiers. Also employees are never around when you need them. Might want to consider a self checkout line or 2 to speed things up.

There is a good selection of food. A good selection of clothes. And I know the staff that works there as lots of them live in the neighborhood. I can walk to this store. I appreciate this store especially these days with Covid19, I know I can count on this store if I need almost anything, they have it. From a toothbrush to cat food and chocolate bars and milk to a new jacket or drapes for our windows.

I love GT! They have some amazing stuff at good prices. Plus, I always pay significantly less than at the grocery store when I buy my groceries there. And the staff are always super friendly.

Great place, always clean. Most things on sale are in stock when I go to check them out. Love the sales. The only thing that is lacking is the customer service at the front of the store. Lately, I've been coming in here and noticing a massive negative attitude from the cashiers, over everything and everyone. I asked a simple request and got told, "I dun WANNA" from a cashier. Ok then. When I go somewhere and never make a mess, never cause a fuss, and am always polite and you treat me like I'm some primary school child over a simple request you are capable of doing, I'm going to start wanting to shop elsewhere. How you can hire and keep people on staff with such an attitude and miserable outlook, is beyond me. Maybe pay them more, they seem really miserable working here. But I don't want to just whine about their attitude if their labour is being under-represented on their paycheques, because, that isn't fair to them. Maybe their attitude towards customers reflects how they feel the company is treating them. Because a genuinely polite customer who hasn't caused an issue, shouldn't be made to feel like they should shop somewhere else. You aren't a freaking Whole Foods, why you have the attitude of one?

Great store with a "littke bit of everything". Sales sell out fast on the first two or three days of sale - - especially groceries.if you cant get there then you are better off waiting until the following Monday afternoon/Tuesday morning in my experience. Friendly, helpful staff. Store takes Covid 19 seriously and has cleaning systems in place.

We shop here regularly and haven't had one issue with staff. A polite question and we get the staff checking whether they have it or not. In the food department, pricing is their greatest asset since the food selection is limited when comparing to a full size grocery store, but it is worth stopping by to check out anything on their flyers. If one staff member has a bad day and isn't responsive, don't group everyone into the same boat. Never an issue with us and I frequently joke with them, whether I know the person or not. Glad they have a store in Aylmer sector of Gatineau.

Terrible the ones stacking the shelves could have scored 5 stars for Tiger Giant. But once walking through the slaughter lane to the cash the stars dropped. There was no choice between using the machine and a cashier as there was none on site. So despite wanting to use cash I needed to use a card. When a cashier did get to the scene. She was seemingly bubbly but awful. I had a sprained wrapped hand and she offered no help. She directed me like I worked there to take the clips off the towels I was purchasing and put my cart away. I was clearly in pain. She was like me, over 40. She offered no positive customer experience. And really without a positive human experience what is the point of going to an actual store. There are other stores that use the robot cashiers and people still shop there because there are thoughtful humans to elevate the experience. There really is no reason to shop at Tiger Giant in Aylmer. I can buy that stuff online or anywhere else. Maybe this particular person should be relocated to a different job in the store and someone helpful moved to the front. Currently the changes to the Tiger Giant is making them and their staff obsolete.
