This is a very nice location that I stumbled on. I was in the area and looking for a nice place for having a meal. I was attracted by the photos on Google maps... and I was not disappointed. Because the restaurant area was fully booked in advance the hostess, Lisa that was very helpful and nice, suggested to have a sit in the bar area and it was a very good suggestion. Although, she said that the only downside of the bar was the fact that there are no waiters and I will have to order at the bar, I did not feel like a very big difference because I had access at the same menu available as in the restaurant area, so after ordering at the bar and sat at the table. The starters came in good time and they were very good. We had Crispy Salt & Pepper Squid and Korean BBQ Chicken Strips, they were delicious. And after we finished the starters, although it was a busy evening, short time after the starters finish the staff brought the mains, we had Sea Bass & Seared Scallops and 28-Day-aged Prime Sirloin 8oz with Garlic & Mushroom Cream Sauce (V), again we were not disappointed they were delicious, the stake was perfectly cooked to the medium rare, as I requested, and the Sea Bass & Seared Scallops was delicious as far as I understood. I wood recommend this establishment to anyone that is in the area looking for a nice place to have a good meal, nice event or a meeting because far as I could see is a perfect location for any kind of event. Even if you don't have a reservation the hostess will offer the best sit available in the bar area and the atmosphere is perfect for a nice meal or even a meeting between a small party at the music is at the best volume to be heard and not interrupt any conversation that might happen. Also seams dog friendly as I saw a sign that said there were dogs ice-cream available on demand. All in all is a very good location, nice and friendly staff and good food.

Lovely building, staff and food. Service was so quick! We booked for 5:15pm via the website, we arrived at 5 and were seated early. Was so impressed with the minimal time between courses and it was a pleasure to be seen to so quickly, staff were really on the ball. Sharing starter was our favourite part of the meal, that salt and pepper squid was lovely! pictures: Sharing starter platter Lamb cutlets (weekly special) Mandarin cake with raspberry sorbet(weekly special) Apple and blackberry crumble Will be going back for sure, price is on the higher-midrange, but certainly worth it. **update** We went again, and it was just as great as last time πŸ™Œ

Went there for Christmas Dinner. Confirmed the specific seats 6 weeks prior and again the day before only be told we were stuck in the back with no fire by the kitchen with nothing they could do about it despite us having confirmed twice that we were to be in the main toasty warm atmospheric main room. Service was rude and slow. When we stated our issue the staff were completely unapologetic and unbothered "computer say no". We asked for other fire to be put on, which they did and then let go out within 10 minutes. Food was nice even if we did have to see the chef come out and throw a strop and things about at the servers. Service slow (but it was a busy Christmas day that could of been overlooked if we were seated in the warm) drinks requests needed to be reminded. All in all kinda ruined Christmas day. Won't doing that again. Edit: amazing customer service to make up for this. Makes me think is was a blip rather than the norm. So edited my review

Delicious Sunday roast. Decided to go for the trio roast with Beef, turkey and pork. All were equally as nice. Plate comes with roast potatoes, brocoli, peas and swede, parsnips, carrot, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. Also ordered a side of pigs in blankets which were amazing. For pudding it was the bakewell tart ( See pictures) Will definitely be back.

Absolutely beautiful meal. The seafood grill was lovely and the raspberry sorbet and chocolate ice cream were fantastic. Add in what I believe was a homemade cookie and you get a wonderful meal. The staff were polite and attentive. Will definitely return.

A beautiful restaurant with mouth watering food. I had and recommend the hand battered Atlantic cod and chips. The batter was crispy, the fish was hot and almost melted in the mouth. I sat on a table with my partner near a real fire which kept us lovely and warm. To drink (non alcoholic) I recommend the elderflower no-jito

Great place to come for a relaxing bite to eat. Choice is wide enough to hopefully cater for everyone. They have a lot of seating indoors and out. I'd personally suggest not sitting in the tables near the kitchen though as can be a little cold. There may be a real log fire nearby, but is still drafty and a little uncomfortable. In terms of the food, it was great quality, and can't fault it.

We have had recently visited this place.sundy roast was delicious. I had beef, which was pink and was perfectly cooked, accompanied by perfect rosted potato's crispy outside and melting inside, very nice vegetables coming with it and horseradish sos. My Mrs had turkey and in her opinion was great aswell. Deserts This in other story... I had salted caramel desert which in my opinion was OK. I would replace heavy cream with light version. Other then that great place very nice service. Definitely recommend. Thank you.

Great food and environment. The old building is a lovely setting, and we were seated in a nice little nook that felt quite private. The food was excellent - clean plates all round! Crisp chips, rich gravy, and delicious desserts - perfect. Service was good and friendly, but some of the staff seemed quite new and unsure of themselves, and so there were some delays and slight mistakes (milk instead of cream for coffee, custard instead of cream for dessert) but nothing that really detracted too much from the meal.

First time visiting this was because there was a get together in the car park for 10th Anniversary of The Paintman This pub does not accept cash, card payment only This is to save the staff time woth regards to cashing up etc to spend more time serving. We ordered 2 meals for lunch Salmon, crushed potatoes, poached egg and Fried Halloumi Ciabatta with Fries and small side salad Both very nice and tasty, served with mayo which of course got to mix in mustard Ladies toilets was a bit slippery mentioned to staff who went to deal

Really lovely, tasty, hot meal. The chicken and leek pie was delicious and nicely presented. Creamy mash and selection of vegetables. Gravy served in a jug. Lovely warm atmosphere. Good selection of different gins. Staff very friendly. Special mention to Georgia, who was lovely and attentive. Very helpful and chatty, gave the impression that she genuinely wanted us to have a pleasant experience. She should train other waitresses in other restaurants, who are not so professional. Would definitely recommend The Hut.

This was a lovely place, the staff were friendly and welcoming and found us a space. The food was delicious and a good size so we were very happy with that. The building itself was very nice and had a very relaxed atmosphere, which was perfect after a long walk. All in all I would say this place is a great place to visit and would suggest it to everyone.

This was the β€œno leaf salad” main course costing approximately Β£11.50 (as pictured). The waiting staff stated that the edamame humous was not available and I agreed to rocket and cucumber salad instead. However this felt like a plate of boiled cauliflower and broccoli with a few spicy chick peas thrown over. Luckily I had also ordered the salmon to add to this, which was okay but bumped the total up to Β£16.49 - quite expensive for a mediocre salmon β€˜salad’ outside of the London area. My husband had the fish and chips with mushy peas (Β£14.79) - he said the fish was quite fresh but the batter was all soggy - the wetness was visible (he thought it had been cooked some time ago) the chips were previously frozen and the peas amounted to approximately 1 tablespoon. On reflection we felt it was more of a management issue and that the staff were dealing with poor resources, rather than an issue caused by poor staff, and to reflect this opinion we still left a tip.

Nice food, not a bad price, lovely. Sat outside, but the road is a bit noisy.
