It's a nice pub in the center of Gent. There are a lot of types of beer and you may have a little trouble deciding which one to order, because they're all very good! They also serve you some food (like cheese and salame), really salty, but it goes absolutely well with the beer. The staff is nice, but someone is a bit rude, anyway the place is really rustic and I liked it a lot! (I went twice to Gent and I must drink something in this pub when I go there!)

Absolute highlight of our trip to Belgium (Brüssels, Brügge, Ghent and Antwerp) We basically had the time of our lives. A place to drink, meet people, get to know the staff and laugh and make merry. If we would live here then this would be our favourite watering hole🥳🤗

Dirty toilets, loud music, smelly place and the cups are dirty when the beer was served

This place has such an incredible vibe! I felt like I was living in the medieval era, I loved how cozy it was with the cold outside but a fireplace keeping us warm inside.

Nice atmosphere, authentic medieval building, decent selection of Belgium beer, terrible service and food, stay away from the toilets, very dirty!

I loved the building - definitely go upstairs if you visit as you feel like you're in game of thrones. Great beer menu and a nice cosy vibe. The only reason it isn't a 5 is that the service was better in some of the other pubs we visited.

Great beer and the ambience is very good. Also, you can get your own food and enjoy it with a beer here.

Went with friends for coffee as it was freezing outside. It was an amazing surprise to find such cozy place in Ghent and it is quite old and the ambiance will give a 1800’s vibe (sit on the top floor).

Always stopping here for a belgian beer everytime we come to Gent. You can also bring food from outside, the staff is very friendly and you feel like home. They also have a terrace at water level on the back, so just check it on summer time!

Crowded, loud and on the second floor, a support beam of the ceiling is being held up very flimsy, it looks like it might collapse.

I came here on my first time in Ghent. This place is witness of my little love story. Bartenders are nice and caring. Love the playlist hands down. The menu is impressive and they have the best beer on the world. Cozy and warm i always come here at least 3 times a week (I don’t have a problem).

Delicious Irish coffee and jeniver. Such a great little speakeasy style Dutch tavern. Great prices considering its in the center of the touristy section. We booked a boat tour waited here had Irish coffee did our tour and returned once back on land. Such a lovely place and the staff were very friendly. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching them pour and serve the drinks. The nachos looked great too.

Amazing place! Amazing beers!

Hard workers, nice people, beautiful bar and nice ambiance. People from different agegroups come here, but mostly youngsters. This place is nice to visit in both day and night and in cold weathers where you can warm up inside and in summertimes where you can really enjoy the beauty of everything sitting outside. They also give small concerts (I think every weekend). You also have the back where you can sit by the tables like in the front. The back is recommended for sunny days, there you are next to the water (the Leie)

My wife and I came in here after walking out of Het Spijker next door due to the poor service. Very friendly barmaid behind the bar. Nice atmosphere, with good music played at appropriate level. Nice little terrace overlooking the cancel. Recommended!

It could have been better with some minor changes. The music was too loud and heavy (I love that stuff, but I don't feel like it suits a bar). The lights were too bright. Yes, seeing the card is good, but it felt like stagelights more than ambient lighting. Chairs were a little uncomfortable due to how tiny they are (though this is standard in many bars). Last problem for me was the beer selection. Options are quite limited for a bar like this. Location is good and the staff is super friendly though :)

Perfect place for a bier in Gent! Recommended!

It's an OK bar. There is a weekly expat drinks night on Fridays which is very nice to have. Beers are very reasonably priced, toilets are clean, service is always very fast and friendly. You can pay by card anytime. The only negative I would say is that the tables are very often very very sticky. Like the kind that makes you think this was not washed for at least a week. They also have an open air terrace so that you can have a smoke sitting down in the winter or enjoy the fresh air in the summer.

Super nice staff. She helped me pick out a good beer and I really enjoyed it.

It's a cosy little place. Small but varied selection of drinks.
