The reception stuf is super nice, helpful and friendly. We weren't able to find a storage room or box for our bags at the train station and we tried to ask a couple of hotels. We were very welcome to leave our bags by the reception and a very beautiful, tall and blond lady offered us also a map to visit Gent and a book. All for free. I wish all hotels would have such a lovely employees as her!

Lovely boutique hotel just a few minutes walk from the Gent train station. Large, comfortable and quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Many options. Fresh OJ, cappuccino, omelettes, fresh fruit, yogurt and much more. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

This is a very nice hotel with one of the largest rooms i’ve ever seen in Europe. Very cute amenities, a thoughtful workout/yoga mat in the room and minimal decor. The front desk is almost always empty which throws you off a lil but staff are nice. The location is bang next to the Ghent central sint pieters station but kinda far from the main attractions (but the tram only 10mins). Overall, it’s a nice budget friendly option but has tremendous potential to improve the service if the owners wanted to. Would recommend for all business travelers.

Had it not been for a security incident, I’d recommend the Hotel Carlton Gent to other explorers. That issue keeps me from making this a perfect 5-star stay. I returned from exploring one day to find housekeeping had left my room unlocked. The hotel uses actual room keys, and the doors do not automatically lock when closed. I immediately reported this to the manager, who apologized repeatedly. However, her rationale that the room was only unlocked for “two minutes” while the busy housekeeper went to grab more supplies did not sit well with me. It only takes one-minute for a determined thief to grab and dash. Offering me a coffee, which is provided complimentary in the room, doesn’t solve the major problem with leaving guests’ rooms unsecure. Saying you’d “remind” her to check the doors means this is a repeat problem that is not being probably handled. That said, the 3-star Hotel Carlton Gent is a modern hotel a quick 3-minute walk from Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station. I selected this hotel for my three-night stay because of its distance to the train station and the spacious rooms. Location was perfect for me to explore the city. Customer service was excellent and check in was smooth. My standard twin room was a spacious 28 square meters, complete with a bathtub. The room did have noticeable wear and tear, but was cleaned and homely. Complementary water was provided and refreshed daily. Wi-Fi was strong and the hotel was quiet. Breakfast was amazing and the food was delicious.

We chose this hotel for the proximity to the train station, but this neighborhood isn’t the most attractive of Ghent. Our room was standard, clean and very spacious (bigger than the reception lobby), but there’s nothing “boutique” about it.

Location is perfect. The staff very nice, helpful and professional. The rooms are fresh, pleasant and clean. All you need is there! A very pleasant stay! I strongly recommend. Close to everything, the train station, center, attractions. Perfect! Thank you foraking our stay so nice!

AMAZING service - when we couldn’t get a taxi ordered, the man at the front desk walked us personally to the tram stop and helped us buy tickets so we could make it to our location on time. Great room, complimentary water and bath products, very clean. We had a lovely stay and wish we were stayed longer.

Genius hotel choice - not extremely pricy, rooms with a ton of space and well equipped bathrooms, cool parking space next to the hotel entrance as well as smart and humorous team at the reception. A bunch of delicatessen and food shops nearby, which is still important at those weird times. A true win for the visit at Gent - recommended!

The hotel is a 5 min walk from the station, next to a park, and 30 min to the center of Gent. So great location. Everything corona proof. Beautiful breakfast served in the room. At the desk, the staff is super friendly. They take the time to explain everything to you and even give you tips what and where you can visit or get a bite to eat. We stayed at the top floor where, on a sunny day, you can take up the view from the large terras.

Hotel owners very friendly. Unexpectedly spacious room. Outstanding breakfastbuffet, best we have had in a long time. As other reviewers posted, very trammable to the city center. We preferred to take the tram to the 30 minute walk to city center. Trams run frequent~isch (at least once per 18 minutes, more frequent during rush hour). Good value for quality provided. Don't hesitate to book here when arriving by train, the 3 minute walk to and from Sint-Pieters station is very doable.

Excellent hotel with superb staff. They provided us proactively with tips and routes. Eg nice running route, or a nice walking route to the city center. The location of the hotel is near to the train station and you can get easily to the city center with public transport. We like to walk so we went walking and it took us 15-20 mins. Breakfast is outstanding. There are many options and it is of super high quality. Truly fresh and local food. I really enjoyed the homemade marmalade, bread and croissants. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. A plus was that there are chargers for electric cars in their garage. We charged it for a very fair price (below the price of a Tesla Supercharger). It's rated as a 3 star hotel but it performs better than a 4 star. Overall, this is really a lot of value for your money. Looking forward to my next stay!

Outstanding stay! The Carlton hotel is a very cute hotel located close of the train station and to the Citadelle park. All the employees were extremely friendly and available whenever we had a request. They go above and beyond to make your stay the best they can and you really feel cozy and cared for (almost as if you were staying with family). Breakfast was delicious and with a lot of choices available (both for food and for drinks). The room was very clean and tidy, and the bed comfortable. We adored the big terrace and the claw-foot bathtub of the deluxe room, but what made our stay absolutely amazing, is that dogs are welcome at the hotel (provided they behave of course), and we never felt like our fluff was an inconvenience. @Carlton hotel, thank you for everything. We will send you all our friends visiting Ghent and will gladly come back to stay at your hotel.

Great experience! Very close to the station yet quiet. Nice, big and clean room and first of all, outstanding hospitality. I was here at the beginning of the Corona quarantine and my work day suddenly got cancelled. The management immediately offered me to keep my room for the entire day until my train leaves. Thank you so much!!!

3 minutes walk from station, spacious and clean. Hotel staff are very attentive, cheerful and helpful. She gave us suggestions of where/what to eat (which is reasonable yet nice restaurant ). Also share the Info about what time is last tram, where to get taxi. Thank you for your kind assistance.

From the first second we got excellent help from the staff, we came before check in but could store the luggage so we could take the tram to the city center. Walking takes around 25min. With tram 7-8min, 7,50 euro for a 24 hour pass och 2,50 euro single trip. The room 204 was very spacious, good size desk, minibar, tv, nespresso machine. Ok size bathroom. Everything nice and clean. Double bed but an extra duvet for single in the room, perfect because I don't like to share 😂 We did not eat breakfast. But I will surely come back to Carlton's next time I visit Gent. And off course give friends and family the tip 😃

Stayed here for 2 nights and everything was perfect. The room is very spacious and clean, and it's about 100-200 Meters from the Central Station. Miss Ieva at the front desk took care everything, so more bonus and special thanks to make us feel very welcomed at this hotel. Highly highly recommend for a Gent hotel near the Central Station.

We loved our stay at Hotel Carlton. The room was perfect for our stay, the staff were very helpful, and the location was ideal. We liked the daily still and fizzy water "on tap" and in our room. We would happily stay here if visiting Ghent again.
