📍Arati Vilas, Tjg. Bungah, Penang The perfect way to have a hearty breakfast. Hailed by many locals as the best South Indian Cuisine in Tanjung Bungah, this store of over 20 years is home to the hearts for many. I brought Michelle here together with the best of friends, and all of us enjoyed the freshly-prepared cuisine. Vadir served piping hot and crispy at the surface with a soft texture inside, Samosa & Poori, just delicious. I particularly loved the Apom with Coconut milk - not too sweet, fluffy and perfectly done. Paper Dosai with Ghee… oooh…. Couple it with Masala Chai or Fresh Cow's Milk, the meal is complete. Their Banana Leaf set rice is also a favourite to many. One of Tanjung Bungah's finest restaurants, don't give this a miss!

Great Indian food. Casual dining environment. Good to have a drink and hang out. Grilled fish on order is especially good.

Nice neighborhood restaurant for food. The thosai was excellent although it was as crispy as we'd expected but that might just be a regional preference. The garlic in the thosai was in pieces larger than we'd expected also. The teh tarik ais was good and not too sweet.

Came for a meal, left with new found family. We tried the grilled chicken, fish curry etc. Staff constantly checked on us, offered entertainment space, gave us chocolate and muruku in between our dishes, offered us fresh cut fruit at the end of our meal. Quality of the food was amazing, treatment from staff made us feel right at home. Just ask the staff for dish recommendations and they will make sure you have your fill and enjoy every bit of it. Could not recommend this restaurant enough. Would definitely be back if we return to Penang.

Just like eating at home. Great ambience. Very friendly service and affordable comfort food. Food made fresh and constantly topped up with new batches also freshly cooked. Very reasonable prices. This is a well kept secret in Penang, and many regulars rave about it.

We found this on our last night , wish it had been sooner. The food was fantastic, and the owner gave us recommendations and explained all the dishes. Enjoyed every bite, my partner even ordered seconds of the tandoori and roti . Truly authentic Indian cuisine.

Laid back and casual cafe set up, you have the option to sit in the open air area or if you prefer, they have an ac section. They serve rice with dishes, Indian style. The chicken was suitably tasty but the fish curry was truly scrumptious. Their roti jala was very soft (as it should be) and went well with the curry. Drinks are not too bad. Service was very friendly and welcoming.

Tea ais so watery, ghee Tosai is RM 4.50, it is over cook and brown my kids doesn't like it bc bitter . There no much choices compare to before. Something is different, the owner say still same, the soul is missing. Really disappointed ☹️.

So so so good! Don’t even know what I ate - but it all was super good both times I went there. Rice with curries and veggies and some flatbread - YUM! Friendly, english speaking staff.

Good Indian food. Service needs to be improved. Public holidays like CNY the place is crowded and slow. Public Parking available but limited.

I was brought here for lunch by a local, and I fell in love with the food. Most people who came here have been patronizing this place for decades. This authentic Indian restaurant serves good home cooked style food. The mutton curry was very good, mutton is very tender and flavourful. The dishes are labelled with names and price are stated too. I find a few dishes quite expensive. You have the option to sit either in open air or air conditioned space. Parking is just by the road side... Overall, food is good, ambiance is nice too. Will revisit

Locals and expat alike, both recommended this restaurant. Dishes on offer change between breakfast and lunch. 10 RM for most plates. Though not a vegetarian, I enjoyed many of the vegetable dishes.

Pretty standard Indian food...really liked the fish curry. It was delicious. The price for each dish is properly displayed so you know how much you are paying for the food you take.

Good simple food. A bit warm sitting out in the open area. Service is average. Cleanliness is average. Price reasonable.
