Try to write a good and just review. The service crew need a supervisor. I was standing waiting for someone to take my order and it looked like I was invisible for over 10 minutes. They served someone else who came later. Until I raised my voice, they served me. It was not packed. Food was good. I don't mind a bit pricey. But be professional. None had their masks worn properly. What's the point. I received a bad reply 13th July. Calling me an idiot. What a management. I changed the rating. Sorry, can't afford your place.

the owner should really take some initiative in presenting their restaurant, especially with their service, cleanliness, the mannerism of their staff and also most importantly their plates, cups and other utensils. The plates especially are so much similar to a dog plate. Poor presentation. Everyone hates a business that only aims at making money instead of providing a classy service.

Update: Please read the reviews made by customers and the threatening and sarcastic responses from the owner of this business. Not just for my comment but others' too... Please choose to eat at other better places. The food is not just subpar, the restaurant is not clean and the price is not at all reflective of the food being sold at this premise. If you mind your health, do get yourself healthier and better tasting food elsewhere. There is no adequate itemised billing as well. The owner is arrogantly replying to customers comments because he is most probably making a lot of money unethically. Please choose better restaurants. #RejectSriAnandaBahwanFood&Restaurants My initial comment : Extremely pricy for mediocre food.

What a terrible restaurant. Food is too expensive, rude cashier and subpar food for its price. My friend brought me to this place, raving about it, but there's nothing special about this place. Instead, it's just awful. Saw the owner comments after. Goodness! Such distasteful replies!

Absolutely horrendous experience. This is a restaurant that NEEDS to shut down for good. Rude, ignorant, clueless and arrogant staff who make you feel worthless and humiliated. I don't want to waste a minute more on these people. Please read the comments of others regarding the quality of service and derive your conclusions. It's all absolutely true.

Cultural diversity brings meaningful believe, way of life, understanding, sharing and trust. That's what brings Penang multicultural in the same roof. Sharing authentic cuisines among us, brings us more vibrant. We talk about, we share views, we get alongside, we keep as one family. This what beautiful was! In the same roof. Same appetite. Same reason. Same meaning of life. As usual, morning walk in the heart of Penang. Heritage buildings standings proudly throughout the years. Some dismayed, hopefully the council will brings back it glory times. Each and every building has it history. As we seek, we told, we learned and we understood. Early I was, walk along Penang Street. Before there was an old fig tree standing gigantic opposite the restaurant. Apparently it has been cut down. The Indian restaurant had been makeshift, interior had a makeover. It's looks vibrant! Fond of memories, our regular spot. Among all my favorite prawn briyani, saag paneer, butter tikka masala and garlic cheese naan! Out of this moment onwards. My concentration basically on the meal I ordered. It's priceless! Each taste had it way of expression. It's nice. It's good. It's delicious. It's tasty. It has it own way! Just had a smile. Smile of satisfaction! They gave a smile. Smile of welcoming. Smile of appreciation. Thank you! Grateful for providing tasty and delicious throughout years. A place you ought to visit whenever you have time ❤

The food is not like those days, the service is getting insanely worst.. I ask the waiter to add some lady's finger, half serving from the normal one... Instead of it that guy filled half of my plate with his half cooked lady's finger...😞😇😳

For breakfast not much variety of foods, asked for vege bihun, they said got but then said finished so ordered uppuma as the picture attached full with green chillies, dhall n dried chilli, I'm not sure it's uppuma/fried rice, roti canai very hard n salty, vadai dry, apple juice asked for less ice but they give without ice cubes, cashier changed to foreign worker, boneless fried chicken got bone, at least they can preheat the curry for rice in the evening, if management ignore this it will become issues, hand soap no quality still oily after wash also. V r not eating for free/discount. V r paying with tax.

Rude owner,Cut Throat Pricey,Overcharged And Disrespectful Service. Most often than not, customers are willing to pay a more significant sum of money for a nice meal. But when the dish is pricey, and the quality isn’t what they expected, they will feel like they’ve been taken for a ride. Also the owner on the social media were respond to the review so bad and he still getting his daily customers. This kind of people should deserve a hit up in a way of not having visit to their shop.I believe this review can make an awarness to all the customers to stop giving them business and make them to learn a lesson. This kind of people are making a stereotype to other customer to look bad at other good indian restaurants. There is many good indian restaurants serving their best. Please dont spoil their name.

Sit down Restaurent where they first ask you to order and eat and then take the payment . Large variety of food but I found the sweets and coffee to be good. The main course and snacks were below average esp the Dosa which had an overdose of oil Quick service and large dining hall seem to be the only positive

Had banana leaf rice for lunch here. Variety of dishes to choose from. Both veg and non-veg. My favourite of course is the chicken varuval, tauwka sambal, gobi 65 and hot sambar😋. So good! Definitely visit here to have your Indian food cravings satisfied. Clean restaurant, fast service, may be packed during bfast or lunch hours. Our fav Indian restaurant. Highly recommend.

Went here for dinner! Got seated by a lovely gent who took our order and answered all our questions about what was what! We ordered A LOT of food and it all arrived very quickly! They were out of something we wanted but he came with a replacement for us to try instead which was amazing! We had rice, vadai, onion pakora, butter masala, mutton kurma and garlic naan! Really impressed and the price was decent too for what we got!!!

This is in penang and this is the non-vege. There's another by the same name but it's vege only. Loved the bizi bustling atmosphere. The food is fantastic. The service - it can be improved.

stopped by around 5pm for teatime. Drinks and sweets were good. Service was bad since the workers were just standing while talking and we had to go to the counter to order ( which was fine ) but watching people wait for tables to be cleaned but staff not being bothered wasn’t a nice feeling.

Bad experience on my latest visit. The chicken dish i order was raw in the middle. I complained, and they just pretended like nothing was wrong. Not going back. Used to love this place. They have become a shadow of their former self

The same chain restaurant from Madras. Sri Ananda Bahwan was one of my favorite Indian restaurant in Chennai. The food quality is good and up to the original taste like what they have in India. This branch in Little India provides good service. We visited off the peak hour and the waiter was very helpful in recommending their signature food. This branch offer the very original filtered coffee, or they called it Madras Coffee here. Very good, strongly recommended. Price is on the high side but worth the quality they provided.

Staff here are pretty nice if you just go to the counter and ask for what you want and be patient. I have never had a bad experience with their service. Food quality is what it is, not the best but okay for the price you are paying. Yes there are better places but it's fast and convenient that's why it's always busy. If you expect 5 star table service then please go to a place that does it. This is a place you come to for a fast and simple meal. But hats off to the staff for always being nice and polite, especially the uncle at the rice counter. He always helps everyone and is so nice.

Not bad for Indian food. Tosai and condiments such as fried bitterguord, ladies fingers are palatable. Place well patronised on a Sunday morning. Probably favourite with locals. No harm making a stop here. Enjoy!

Absolutely amazing the best the most delicious Indian food I've ever had in my life. You can't even beat this in my own home country. This is seriously the best Indian food. A highly recommend you do this. Everyone go here, just go. Don't let yourself down. It's a mustard. As soon as you get to Penang. Eat as much as you can and enjoy it. Cheap, cheap and awesome. Excellent stuff. Excellent facility excellent hospitality

I went there for snacks twice recntly. The entrance is quite narrow with stalls locate on both sides. Watch out the heat from stove when bringing kids. A lot of sweets and dishes available. First time there, I order tea masala, tosai and iddli. Quite satisfied with food and drink. Second time, I came for donut masalavadai and teh tarik susu lembu. No complaint about the food.

Although this restaurant has been here for many years it's Very much a local eatery but I'm sure a few tourists do venture into here.

As always enjoyed our visit here. This restaurant has changed since last we visited. The exterior has been tidied up and painted a beige colour. The interior had been opened up and there is wifi available. Seems to me the menu has expanded dramatically as well. I had my old favourite vegetarian banana leaf meal with briyani rice. My wife had Dahl and naan. The food was as good as ever-so tasty. Staff were friendly and patient with a couple of old foreigners :-). All were wearing masks and hair nets. By the way I used to find Sri Ananda Bahwan by looking for the old fig tree opposite but it has been cut down now so please be aware. We would gladly come back again. Cheers

Can't get over the tosai rawa (not in the photos), roti planta and the apom. 💕 More expensive than other places though. They're severely understaffed (but they work very hard). The place is usually packed and it's hard to get parking. That's the only downside.

They were celebrating ponggal and we asked if it’s okay for us to dine in but no answer was given by the staff. It could most probably be language issue but overall the food was decent. Plain thosai was a bit salty(i am not sure if it should be salty) but ghee thosai was delicious! Teh Tarik and Nescafe ordered in Kurang Kurang Kurang manis were great for Chinese tastebud who prefer less sweet. Overall it’s a great experience.

We just found this place randomly and I asked for some recommendations. The waiter in the white shirt welcomed me very friendly and gave advices and took time for excellent service! I haven't eaten Indian food often, but this one was good to mee. I liked all the flavours and to be honest, waiter made my experience at this place uniquely. At the end, I wanted to buy one if those sweet, milky dessert and he just gave it to me for free!! This one goes to you my friend. All the best for you in life!
