I begin the review with great prompts to the customer service and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Rustic decor and live music complemented the evening. Much less can be said about the Tomahawk steak however. We ordered the pork pizza and flame ribs. Which were divine, could not fault it. Cocktails were just as impressive. Along with our order, we requested two of the house Tomahawk steaks. The staff had advice the wait time would be quite a while. Which we happily accepted. After the other mains have been served and our drinks were slowly getting warmer. It took 2 hours for the first tomahawk to arrive. Which was disappointingly undercooked (we requested medium rare). We had to return both of the tomahawks and overall it was a big let down with the steaks. Other than that, can't fault the other dishes. The staff were quick to assist in the shortfalls and compensated the 'end bill' for it. Would recommend else where for a Tomahawk, until they are able to perfect it .

The environment is very good. Nice songs and comfy. The cocktails here really good. We just inform our preference and they will provide special cocktails for us which is not in their menu. Their waiter is very friendly and attentive especially Nehru & G. We definitely come again on our next Penang trip.

First, it's much more enjoyable since gurney replaced the fan and cleaned up the retractable awning. Looks more inviting and psychologically makes the meal more enjoyable. The new fans are also more powerful, giving a better breeze and a cooling experience especially in the warm afternoons. The beer is well chilled and the draught taste refresh and thirst quenching especially on those hot afternoons. I have always enjoyed their food. This time is no exception. Their aglio olio has just enough oil and spice to make it delicious without being overwhelming. The spaghetti cooked perfectly without being hard or squishy. Pizza crust is thin for you to appreciate the topping without excessive carbs. They have different desserts daily and today was their lava cake. Well cooked and came with a yummy crust and lovely flowing chocolate interior. Vanilla ice cream is fairly standard. Tasty and fortunately controlled sweetness. I dislike desserts that kills your taste bud with sweetness. This cake is perfectly balanced and should be tried.

Generally, it is a relaxing place for couple, friends and even family. On Saturday, there is live band (a plus point). Food - There were dishes above average such as fried lotus flower (with shrimp), cheesy pizza with truffle oil, fried fish baits. Service - Average. A lady waitress isn't that friendly...while others are on average/acceptable. However, there is a bartender had electronic smoking while working and this is not good.

A pub serving 5 mugs of Guinness for RM75.00 during Happy Hour is the best you can get. The afternoon air was filled with the cackle of hens on their monthly outing displaying their Tai Tai paraphernalia. Service friendly but a little slow by two Pinoy ladies. Open air seating allowed some puffing on the side.

Overall customer service was excellence, they patiently take the order and adjust the air condition as we requested due to rainy day and with kids together. Environment was cozy. We liked the food but probably not the best taste we had tried.

Located in the food complex of Gurney Plaza, the Barn offers you both indoor and outdoor seats. The most attractive dish to me is sauteed sausage with onions. It’s a little bit spicy but very tasteful. Fish n Chips is just normal, not really impressive. The soup is not bad. On that day, we should not order Oyster Omelette because it’s too big and the flavor is not good.

The Barn is absolutely fantastic. Amazing service and wonderful atmosphere. Food tastes great and the beer deals are awesome. It's definitely my new go to spot in Penang. Also for those who are still young like myself great place to cuci mata while enjoy a super cold pint 🍻 Salute guys, keep up the great work. A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service by Ms.Lenny, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you. No word to say that it was awesome. The service always with a smile and very patient with us.Conclusion, if you have the opportunity to go eat there, do not hesitate !

Love the ambiance, the relaxing mood and the service. Server was so friendly and helped us take pictures. We will definitely come back here.

Had the iberico pork burger and the serving is very generous. Still fairly empty when I visited on weekday lunch. Most menu items are beef and plenty of alcoholic drinks.

Cozy restaurant and suitable for happy hour gathering. Food taste is ok except the pork ribs is very porky. Service can be improved as the waiter is not attentive.

Good food. Nice environment with live music on a Friday night. The meat platter is a must try, delicious and big enough for 3 to 4 person. They do have quite some selection of wine to pair with your food too. Too bad my table was set right below the aircond blower which makes us a bit uncomfortable. Hopefully service team can take note of this and improve in the future.

Very nice place to have some beers with fam or friends，The staff is friendly, especially HASAN.

Food taste good, and the portions are big. Reasonable price. The only drawback is limited food choices. Great selection of drinks.

Great place to unwind with a glass of wine or a beer while catching up with friends. Hasan was attentive and friendly… a great staff to attend to us.

A nice place to enjoy their happy hour till 2130 and relax your sore legs after shopping in Gurney.

Great atmosphere, great food, great live band 👍🏻👍🏻 definitely a place to chill with friends and family, while enjoying delicious American cuisine. My personal favourite is the Roast pork Aglio olio pasta and the sausage platter. Will surely come again !!!

I just want to share my experience with this bar. I didn’t have enough money because I forgot to include the service charge with my computation with my total order. The staff let me go but I can’t manage to do that so I decided to come back and return the change. For food, I ordered this fried noodle that had some twist on it. 4 out of 5 for me, taste amazing! The nachos are decent. Just like other nachos you can eat but the serving is good for more than 2-3 people. I went there by Thursday night so the crowd was not that much but they had a live singer inside the restaurant which had a great vibes towards the whole ambiance. The place looks so modern and aesthetically pleasing.

This place is a go to place for good, drinks and just having a laid back time. Overall the food is good. Enjoyed my meal and the service provided by the crew. Liked the music choices played by the live band. It’s a duo but pretty nice - was some tracks from the 80s. I personally liked it. So the food is good - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Parking - 5/5 Would come back again but this time I wish the pork chop - the skin of the pork would be crispier and not too hard.

First time here, good vibes and music. Friendly staff, the food was amazing, the portion is big, tasted great, the “fins and feather” wasn’t oily and the sauce was nice. Will definitely come back

Had order crispy pork pizza and pork ribs. Overall the food is excellent. Just some down side which is they will pour whisky on top of the pork ribs and light it up. The fries beside will soak some of the whisky and will taste weird (my opinion).

We love The Barn and pre-covid we came here all the time. It was our 'go to' place for a lovely late lunch with a tasty bottle of wine. One of our indulgences during retirement. It was the first place we wanted to return to when things began to open up. We were not disappointed. From the friendly greeting at the door as we were seated at our favorite table by the fantastic staff, to the mouth watering lunch placed before us. It was so nice to be back. Sheila, our very attentive server offered us a lovely recommendation for a delightful bottle of Favoritos Sauvignon Blanc to pair with the Meat Lovers Platter. Tomato, pork with vegetable soup and tossed salads to start were just what we needed while we waited for our main course. While we waited we enjoyed some of the new art deco on the walls and the lively pop music playing. All SOPs were followed and enforced making for a very safe and enjoyable lunch.

Should be fake review. Been waited infront entrance so long. Then Ordered 2 bottle of wine. But need call and order 3 times for 2 glasses of ice water to be served. All the so called "Friendly" Waiter/Waitress busy entertain thier friends/regular customers and ignore new customers. Like i have Invisible Ability Superpower. Totally huge disappointment as i am Fans on The Barn in KL. But not in Penang. 👎👎👎

Thank you for the special atmosphere and hospitality. The choice of food and drinks is excellent. We had dinner here several times and were very satisfied each time. The waiters are very helpful and always fulfill the wishes of the order. Separately, I want to mention our favorite Lenny & Aidan & Raiwon. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the girl who served us also. But I really want the management to notice such wonderful employees! We will definitely come back to Penang and visit Barn again ❤️❤️❤️

Nice place for Western food and beer/wine. Outdoor space in a shopping mall and usually it's windy sitting out there in the late afternoon. They usually have happy hours for beer and wine. Recommended for weekend catch up or relaxing time after busy shopping.

If you want the best burger, order the Angus beef burger- to die for! Then the French fries, hot, crispy- deliciousness. Service? Awesome, attentive and incredibly friendly. You can see the smile in their eyes in this day and age of masks required. Highly recommended!

The flaming baby back ribs is soft and tender, Vnod is a great waiter, good service, friendly and helpful, will definitely visit again

Cosy place inside restaurant. Also have open air table for those who prefer fresh air.
