We ordered Lychee High Tea, Kean Kee Milk Punch, Milo O’ld Kao and Umbra-Lah. All were pretty good and interesting. Milo O’ld Kao Kao stood out to us because it tasted just like Milo except there was no Milo in it. The Umbra-Lah was spicy umbra juice which is unique. We also had 2 cocktails off the menu. Both were good. On a side note, it was a little bit hard for us to get the bartender’s attention despite sitting at the bar. It's small and intimate, serving a lot of Malaysian inspired drinks, including a cocktail inspired by asam laksa? I had a chocolate/whiskey-based drink that came with a Parmesan cracker - it was a really enjoyable pairing. My partner had the syrup limau ais (gin-based) - it was refreshing! Prices are roughly RM35-RM50 a drink, and it's definitely worth it. As far as bar snacks go - for a Malaysian bar, it serves Tam Tams (or something that tastes like Tam Tams) - I appreciate this touch a lot.

Knock on the door, and a server will show you to your seat. An extensive instructional drink menu is given along with bottomless snacks. Server was helpful as we were new and gave recommendations on drinks to try. Loved the John Lemon, a nice sour-ish citrus taste and smooth at the end. Can't remember the other drink name, it had a stronger after taste which some may not prefer.

Hidden bar but super cute! John lemon was pretty good. 9/10 Pineapple Express 7/10 Elderflower gin sour (custom by the bar tender ? ) it was 5/10 the after taste was just noooooo. Overall definitely should drop by. Price slightly on the higher side

Interesting menu but some of the drinks were not well balanced. We waited really long for our drinks even though it wasn't full. Crowd was mostly local gen z/ millennials if that's the vibes you're looking for.

It’s quite the experience, as they only have locally inspired drinks here. Came here on a Thursday night and it was full by 9:45pm. Upon arriving, they will offer a glass of water and snack, which is great as the drinks do take awhile to arrive. Drinks are on the pricier side (about RM 40-45), but the alcohol content is also on the higher side. Rum Lola Rum - 8.5/10 (loved this drink! The chai and sourness somehow work really well) Rum & Raisin - 8/10 (I have no idea how they captured the raisin taste, as there’s no raisin, buts the taste is definitely there) However, the alcohol taste in this is strong, so if you don’t like the alcohol taste, skip this.

For RM80 (2 drinks) I got less than a glass of cocktail, two enormous chunks of ice and a bag of crisps. Pretty poor value. In fairness this place has a lot going for it: the taste of the cocktails are very good. The ambiance is pretty good too. Music is low enough to talk, the speakeasy vibe is fun, service on a Monday night was swift. They could take the time to clean it - there's brick dust everywhere, my wobbly 'pipe' table was propped up with a dirty napkin and the toilets (shared with the Hin Bus depot) are the usual horror...

Nice cozy place with unique cocktails. They will even customize the cocktails to your liking! Price is 3X to 4X. Pretty small place though, so not recommended for big group, or at least book in advance. Cant recall what we had, what i remembered: passion fruit whiskey sour, jackfruit cocktail, some elderflower cocktail and a darn good time!

Amazing bar to go in Penang and highly recommended! Kudos to the great service and drinks by Kelvin, Jensen and a few service staff and bartenders. It definitely lives up by its name - just where good friends meet! It should make it to the top few cocktails bar in Malaysia!

We were lucky to visit the bar on a not so busy night & had a great sharing session with Kelvin. We are very impressed with his knowledge in liquor & cocktail! It is very nice to meet someone who has so much passion in what he/she do, respect the time & efforts he spent in learning about everything :) Kelvin is also very sharp in capturing our taste bud, we ordered 3 underground menu (which is what Kelvin prepared based on what he thinks we will like) + 9394 from the menu. I have to say the perfect martini he made for me with gin base changes my perception of Gin! He also offered me to try a sip of a rare whisky in his collection after he found out about my love for whisky! Overall experience was very good & hope to visit again in the near future! Btw, their pricing is quite okay comparing to others bar in the area.

Very friendly cocktail menu for cocktail newbie who is not sure what to get at the bar. The menu literally showed me and my friends what to order based on our preference. The team at Good Friends Club was very nice and friendly too. They gave us suggestion about cocktails as well as customisation or off menu cocktail based on our preferences. Very good hospitality from the team!

My most favourite cocktail bar in Town. Love the drinks. It's so amazing and awesome. Especially the bartender is very nice person. He knows my taste well. Staffs are friendly and very helpful and efficient too. I like to lepak there with friends.

Very nice speakeasy behind a metal garage-style door. They have some pretty good selection of cocktails, or you can order classics if you want something else. If you are curious you can try a cocktail with anchovies taste, although I didn’t enjoyed it it was an interesting experience. Very nice staff.

We walked on on new years eve at 8pm so managed to get a table but it got crowded after! Better to book if you're coming later on a weekend. Great service and innovative menu. My favorite was the "pulut hitam"/purple rice inspired cocktail. Great bar to check out in Penang!

Cocktail made inspired by the local dishes, went a little brave trying the Assam laksa. It was alright but a little pretentious for me, will I return? It’s a 50/50 but good experience though.

Ambiance and drinks were extremely good! We had off-drinks menu and some on the menu too. The bartenders were thoughtful and listened to our requests and needs, and made us customised drinks. The bartenders and owner were very friendly and approachable. My friends and I had a really good time here, highly recommend!

If you're looking for a spot with local-vibe to get yo drink on, this is the place. The staffs were friendly and seemed like "good friends", which was great considering the name of the place. If you're into wacky (cool + vulgar) designs, you might dig the photo frames on the wall. I tried their signature georgetown9394 cocktail which was ok overall, but if you're not into sour plums then i advise you to try other drinks. I'd like to go back again so I can try other drinks as well. Highly recommend if you're visiting Penang. Keep it up guys!

Good stuff. Place to go for a nice cocktail and chat. Price is reasonable. Ambient is quite good. Leaning more to the dark theme. Nice bar music with decent volume so you can talk normally without the need to shout.

The boss and the staffs were awesome! It will definitely make you feel like a neighbourhood bar! Way better than I expected~! Please visit this place as the music and the ambience is just perfect to be!

18 June 2022 - Came here in 2021 and 2022. They have one of the best drinks in Penang. I would say its also better than some in KL. The choices of flavour felt very local and authentic. Had the umbra, mint chocolate and the chilli 👍

Out of three nights in Penang we went to this bat twice. The cocktails are very creative and delicious. They also prepared amazing off the menu cocktails (we just told them what we liked and they created something for us). Good atmosphere. These bartenders (super young) will go places. So talented!

Loved it! Great cocktails & good vibes! Only marked down because we watched one of the barmen not pour the whole cocktail into the customer's glass & take a shot glass worth for himself/his friends at the bar. I'm used to a bartenders checking that cocktails taste as they should by adding a straw & putting their finger over the end to then taste....maybe that's just me! Oh & ladies, make sure you take your own toilet roll!

First time going to a hidden bar to be honest, best choice was to pick this place to start out. The service here is incomparable to most service line. Their staff is the next level polite and professional. Cocktails all have their own unique names and combinations with the local ingredients. Unlimited refills for a childhood favourite snack as well.

Try 2 of their bitter cocktails and both are so good. It’s not for everyone, but if you are bored with fruity or sour or sweet cocktails. Try their 50 Red Dates. Sit at the bar so you can have a friendly chat with their mixologist. Come early to avoid the crowd. One of a must try speakeasy in Penang.

It was a hidden bar that provides cocktail and their service is absolutely fantastic. The taste of the cocktail is so significant. You may also seek their opinions based on your needs. Limited seat and for sure to make reservations avoid disappointed.

As a traveler going back and forth in Asia and a local bar enjoyer, this place is a must visit bar in Penang. It's underrated that it deserve a Top 100 Bar in Asia award. The bar has a hidden bar concept so all you do is push that door full of stickers. The drinks are so perfectly crafted to every condiments that give you this fusion Malaysian culture and classic cocktails, also the crazy kerupuk(crackers) as snacks. The staffs are friendly and showed you the promos/collaborations available at the time. The atmosphere is undoubtedly the best since it feels like an old kopitiam with a dash of neon lights at the back. Note: 1. Please reserve for a bar seat to get the outmost experience of this bar 2. Staffs speaks both English and Chinese 3. E-Cigs are allowed inside but not regular cigs

S.O recommended this place because of the milo drink he tried few years back but was severely disappointed by the 360 change in taste now. Staff asked for feedback yet didn't know how to react to less-than-ideal feedback. Truffle fries was good though. Pricey experience. Place is small.

Kelvin the bartender and part owner is so funny and engaging. Drinks were amazing and all had a unique twist making it a special place to visit with a welcoming atmosphere. We got great local food recommendations on the side. Highly recommend a visit!
