The place is situated in a shoplot near the main tourist attractions in Penang. Parking is a bit harder especially during peak hours. They observe certain SOP during COVID 19 pandemic. Ticket for Malaysian adults is RM25 and for kids RM15. The place has 2 levels. Make sure your handphone/camera is fully charged because for sure you'll be taking a lot of photos. The place is fully air-conditioned. Among the amenities are clean toilets and free drink thru water dispenser. You have to remove your shoes for upstairs tour. What is a bit inconvenience is once you finish taking photos and before exit, you have to go back to the shoe rack to take your shoes back. At the end of the tour there's a small shop selling souvenirs. Bonus point: There's a popular Nasi Kandar restaurant in front of this place called Nasi Kandar Merlin. Do try it out!

oh my god. This place was one of my FAVORITE activities that we did on our entire trip to Malaysia. If you’re down to get silly THIS IS A MUST. The upside down museum was cool too…but what makes this one special is that YOU get to use your imagination and choose what you do with the backgrounds. My mom end I had an absolute blast here. Big highlight of our time here. Thank you to the staff for bringing back a chance to play!

Don’t bother going. I was underwhelmed with my visit to the 3D museum in Penang. It is simply a bunch of not too great 2D paintings with shadows that are supposed to make your photos 3D (not true). It costs RM25 per person. There is a person who would help you take a few photos on your phone in the first area of this museum. (First two exhibits). They help you because they want to take a few photos so they can sell you copies at the end, which is fine but honestly, their photography skills is questionable. The room that I really wanted to take photos has a Van Gogh replica (starry night) in it and makes a tall person shorter than a short person. But that room was closed. I would not want to visit the 2nd time. Really not worth the money. I would highly recommend Upside Down Museum instead. As for Covid precautions, they asked us to show our MySerjahtera to make sure we are ‘Low Risk’ before we could buy tickets (that’s good) but there were a lot of people inside. It was a weekday when we visited, I would dread it if it was a weekend.

The museum look alike 2 story coffee shop. It's good for kids having fun n learn how 3D was made. 2nd story we have to took off our shoes n continue our tour. I pretty sure it's crowded on weekends n not good for photography bcs we need space for photoshoot. The museum was awesome for me.. tickets price is RM18 for local n RM28 for foreign..

Spent about 1 hour here. It can be abit chaotic when it’s crowded because others may block or obstruct your photo taking view/angle. The instructions to manage one’s shoe at level 1 can be clearer. Waiting time to enter is about 15 mins.

Not expecting much from this place because it's small and cramped. It's challenging to take pictures when it's crowded. Footprints in some spots indicate where we should stand for a nice photo angle. It has two levels, and there are souvenir stalls as well. Suitable for tourists.

This Museum is a little walk away from the Peranakan Mansion and a bit pricier than the other Museums. At RM28, you better be ready to take at least 28 photos. The good news is though, there are ample photo taking spots (little illusions, or just pretending to be in a scene with the art) so if you’re a little more creative, this place is a good stop. My friend and I spent about an hour here, and went home with MANY photos. Being able to laugh and pose and brainstorm was delightful, and watching other ppl for ideas was also nice. There are also some cooler props for photos, which we took full advantage of. If you’re out of ideas, there are always photos outside each set to spark some. I can see how this museum might not be everyone’s cup of tea though, considering how self guided it is (much like the other museums in Penang) and the emphasis on static sets.

A fun place to go with your family and kids. Photographers and Instagram enthusiast would love this place. The 3D paintings you find here are surreal. MyKad holders get a special entrance discount too.

This is my second visit to this museum. Still having the same old 3D Trick Art and yet still enjoying different kind of style of taking pictures. Every art have their own style of posing even though we can refer to the recommended picture on the wall. Hopefully they will have more tricks to show and love to come again

The Penang 3D Trick Art Museum is a fun museum for the whole family. The murals here are definitely not deceiving. Move your body boldly and strike fun poses to capture vibrant photos wherever you are. Each painting contains a different story, and quiet viewing can feel the artist's intentions. Not only that, but you can also relive your childhood stories and play traditional country games. History, adventure and excitement come to life at this museum.

The place is definitely good. Not amazing and not the most creative/ wonderful 3D art I have seen. There are 20+ pieces of art to take pictures with but we got through them in around 1hr with a few being a bit difficult to find the right angles for. Overall, worth checking out. There were also useful and welcoming staff with a lot of things to do around the area too.

The photos I took were of myself which I don't want to upload. I want to appreciate the staff who is NOT the official photographer but offered to take photo for me anyway. The service and care for another fellow human is so amazing, and I really appreciate him (in photo).

Wife and I arrived here at 4.45pm, giving us more than an hour to check out the art. Art is OK, some good photo ops and quite fun. Very little guidance on how to get the best photos - staff member was more focused on his phone, until it got to 5.20pm. He then told us that they were closing soon (closing time is advertised as 6pm), and then began offering to take photos for us, rushing us from point to point in an effort get us out the door quickly. This really ruined our experience and killed any fun we were having, so we skipped the last part and left. I explained to the counter staff on the way out that this had negatively impacted our experience, and she offered no apology or solution. Given the high price tag and our treatment I certainly do not recommend.

Great place to spend time with your family and kids. The only thing I dont like is that people are staring at you like they cant wait.. hey.. cant you guys wait? some people want to take the best pics from instagram here 😅 the management should let people in bit by bit.. so that people can spend time at each attraction without pressure. Else than that we had a great time here.

This museum is a fun concept. A few of the exhibits are showing signs of age, which eliminates the illusion due to scratches and marks on the wall or paint wearing away. However, there were several new scenes under construction - so hopefully once these are added, the existing exhibits can have a touch up. Friendly staff at the front desk. *Quick Tip - booking your ticket on KLOOK saves you atleast %10. Just show barcode at the front counter.

If you are expecting some level of grandeur (if you had visited other similar places in other countries), dun expect too much. The place is built into a 2 storey conserved building but have really good "tricks" for ya to take interesting poses. We thoroughly enjoyed the time there but as it will show pics of persons. I will only post one for fun. Do make it in your bucket list to be there. No regrets, i assure you Have fun "tricking" !!

Not for those who wants to spend a lot for taking their own pictures themselves. Prefect for NOOB people like us (sibling) since we are terrible at photo taking. The staffs will guide you through on what positions and how to pose. Do not feel shy to ask for other styles and take slightly more poses. If you never open your mouth, then the staff will automatically lead you to the next scene. Which will make you feel like you were rush through the rooms.

The Penang 3D Trick Art Museum is an absolute blast! The museum features a wide range of 3D art installations that allow visitors to step inside and become a part of the artwork. The paintings are incredibly realistic, and it's amazing how they create the illusion of depth and movement. Nice attempt but a disappointment compared to upside down museum. We just try to make the best of it as seen to still get in some decent pictures. Most of the backdrops are too close to each other and very difficult to squeeze nice shots in without capturing a different backdrop. Maybe they try to put too many settings in limited space. I do understand that they need to preserve the settings by not allowing shoes. But maybe that should be managed before entry and not after. Seems there aren’t enough attendants to help with guiding and taking pictures. Also most of the backdrops are not very “trick art” but more 3D. If you really have time to kill, visit this. But if you only have time for one, IMO to check out the upside down museum instead. Instagram @iambruisedlee
