Other than butterflies, there are different types of flora and fauna that could be found here, so I recommended for those who travel with kids and elderly. However, as a butterfly garden, I actually expect to be surrounded by the butterfly when entering the garden. Somehow, the butterflies are kept in a small room inside the garden. Staff is friendly and helpful, and service is fast even during the weekend. In terms of the concept and layout, it is great but lacking of maintenance as the glasses of the exhibit were quite mouldy that affected visitors sight.

A beautiful, interesting and educational place to visit. Right next door to the Escape park, it is a pretty and fun way to spend a few hours. Lots of butterflies, different types of insects and creepy crawlies with more than six legs. Well worth a visit.

I would consider this visit with my kids a rather educational and enriching experience. You have to visit this place with a positive view that it is not so much for adults but for the kids, that’s some experience for them. The silkworms educational experience in the silk boutique is a must to experience for your kids. Souvenir is kinda pricey. The management should consider make your items affordable to bring some home for memories. Overall is a yay for the kids.

Brought my family there recently and we went pretty early but sad to say it was raining heavily when we arrived. The staff told us it was no point going in during rain as it will be like open air also inside. So we waited and thankfully there is a cafe and we ordered some hot drinks and snacks while waiting for the rain to stop. Thankfully rain stopped after 1 hour! We went inside and overall it was a pretty fun experience for my kids. Even though it is supposed to be a butterfly farm, there are a lot of other exhibits as well such as various insects and also reptiles. We slowly walk and enjoy all the exhibits and also there is an open area inside where you can see the butterflies flying around. Due to rain we did not manage to see much butterflies but still manage to view a few close ups. There are quite a lot of things to enjoy inside and I think it is worth the visit. At least my kids told me they really enjoyed the trip. It took us about 2 hours to fully complete the whole walkabout. I think it is a good idea to go early in the morning because you get more available parking slots and the weather is not too hot yet. When we left after or around lunch time, the parking spaces already all taken up. Personally I have visited this place a few times since my childhood and I have seen good progress and how they continue to revamp and make it nicer. Good job!

Such a beautiful place to visit, very educational & if you are there at the right time, they have a new butterfly release experience that lets you learn all about the life cycle of butterflies. There are so many butterflies, lizards, ducks, geckos, fish, soldier flies, silk worms, frogs, etc for the whole family to enjoy 😄

Very nice, the butterflies were everywhere and it was a relatively large place. The nature was beautiful and it was also nice that there were two sections- the outdoor garden and indoor discovery center. Would be very good for kids. Inside, there were a couple popcorn stalls and a cafe at the entrance/exit.

Very beautiful and educational place. It seems small at the sight but from the inside it has all different educational places. Worth the trip definitely. You have to pay 150 RM for 2 adults. Also great place for kids.

A really cool experience coming here! I think it’s very suitable for children to come and enjoy this place. It’s really big and it took about 3 hours to walk through the whole thing. There were snakes, spiders, all kinds of frogs and lizards along with the many many butterflies! They seem really well taken care of and it was an educational experience going through the many rooms. It does get quite hot in the butterfly farm though, so be prepared with your fans to help you get through those few sections - especially if you have younger ones. But the second half of the farm would be all air conditioned! The price is quite expensive in my opinion (RM59) but the place is kept very well so it’s up to your discretion on whether to visit! Enjoy! :)

Recommend to get the ticket online (I choose Pelago with 10% more discount) There is indoor and outdoor area. The outdoor area can see the butterflies 🦋 around the beautiful park. Love that there are many insects and other animals in the park with proper QR code to introduce them. It is quite humid and warm at the outdoor. Indoor area there is air conditional. There is more exhibitions about the life cycle of butterflies and there are a wide collection of specimen of butterflies and insects. Very interesting!

If you like butterflies you are bound to enjoy this place. If you like other creepy crawlies aka spiders and snakes you will love it more. If you like science and want to know more about how these wondrous creations breed, survive and thrive then your day will surely be made. Well worth the drive up north in Penang and the cost of the ticket. Note to the management: please clean your loos and keep the floors dry. They are a disgrace.

A fantastic way to spend a few hours with the children. The trip may be marred by the traffic jam but the entire experience is good. The entire excursion was educational and entertaining for all ages. A must do when visiting Penang.

Great place for young & old . Beautiful butterfly area with lots of plants and even a waterfall and pond . At 3 pm they let you set free a new butterfly into the the place. Also have other live animal / insect/ reptile exhibits to see. Has a cafe serving coffee, cold drinks and fast food . A shop at the end. Informative , educational and interactive. A brilliant place to come for 2-3 hours ! Highly recommended!

The ticket os toooo way expansive not worth it 75 RM/person. To reach here by bus you have to drop off at scape but stop because the bus doesn’t go until the farm You will take around 1 hour to go all around it there are 3 main areas: for butterflies, underground and bugs

Enjoyable + educational experience for adults and children alike. Loved the petting part. Some of the displays are too high for many kids - get a small platform? The staff was nice and informative. Shop was OK and nice items for sale. Some of the displays, waterfall, etc. need fixing.

Enjoyed my time here very much! There were not too many different types of butterfly species that we saw, but the ones we did see were very beautiful. It’s a huge area and you don’t only get to see butterflies, you see other interesting things like fire snails and many types of frogs, beetles, giant millipedes, etc. Suitable for all ages.

The ticket price is a bit high ,but the visit is worth the price. A great place to visit especially with kids. You can see types of butterflies, insects and amphibians in the centre. It is comfortable to walk in flats because the centre is quite big, and recommended to spend at least 2 hours to walk around.

This is the coolest butterfly atrium I have ever been to, and I am a museum nerd. Their exhibits were exceptional and the all of the animals were happy and healthy. There were countless educational boards explaining the area, and so much to see! I recommend spending a couple hours here at least. Totally worth the visit!

It's very great experience to visit here. Much better than the zoo negara. Haha The price for MY card holder RM49. Got parking lot and no need to pay for parking. A lot of staff will be there to guide and assist to follow the SOP. They have a lot of butterfly, a lot of amphibians species, spider,. Very beautiful scenery and activities can be done. They have slot for many information. It's very pretty. I cant get enough with this place. A good place to bring children and explore. After exit they have cafe, the ice cream was so delicious, you should try. Only RM2.

Really neat place to visit. The amount of butterflies isn't as impressive as some others I've been to in the world but they do a great job of showcasing the lifecycle of a butterfly and their role in the broader ecosystem. It was cool how they explained the process of becoming a supplier for other butterfly conservatories. If you have a severe phobia of insects I don't recommend visiting as they have a lot of insects in enclosures.

Went on an excursion here so only had an hour. But it was perfect for us, got to see some lovely colourful butterflies, which landed on us at times, got some great pictures. Had trouble finding the way out, we were told to follow the paw prints, but they seemed to be everywhere.

After visiting Entopia, the price tickets were worth it. We visited the Kagoshima City Aquarium in Japan last year, and we can see some resemblance. The display of exhibitions were of the same standards - the difference are over here they're about butterflies and insects. There are interesting interactive displays, some hand-ons (digging for the dung beetle which i did not dare to try), mini cinema room, legends about butterflies from other parts of the world were some of the attractions. Nice dining area and super clean toilets! Souvenir shop - i think they should add a selection of metal fridge magnets. The current selection of fridge magnets - should add more of the ones that shows the building of Entopia. I mean, there are more than one butterfly farms in Malaysia, and most of the fridge magnets there are of the image of butterflies as well. Oh yes, don't forget to try the delicious Butterfly Pea Flower Vanilla flavoured ice cream near the exit before you leave. i had two helpings! ❤️

Educational indoor park for insects and small reptiles. Lots of information is given about butterflies but other animals are neglected. It is not a huge area to visit, and you can easily finish the experience in about an hour. Large parts of the exhibits are not maintained well and a few sections of exhibits are fake and a big waste of time. Not worth the RM49 per adult normal ticket price.

There are many different kinds of animals other than butterflies here. I would say that the main attraction here would be the main butterfly enclosure where you would see the life style of a butterfly from the pupae to butterfly. My complaint would be that the place is not well maintained and cleaned but it is still a decent place to visit

Nice place to visit, somehow it reminded me of Singapore 😂 Tickets can be bought online, we bought it from Klook app. Hassle free, no line ups, straight through the gates. There were many species of butterflies, turtles, insects etc. Well kept place. To my surprise it was that hot indoors. Very informative place.

Place is quite lovely and fun for those nature lovers and inquisitive. Kids would love this place. Its all A-Z about butterfly, and some other small animals too. Parking readily available. The garden where all the butterflies are in an open space garden, if it rains, it would've spoilt that leg of the trail.. toilet's clean too

Bought my tickets via Klook. Although the tickets counter and checking is fast. I would say 50% outdoor & 50% indoor. The place is being maintained just accordingly. So many types of insects here especially. And several reptiles. My son enjoyed the visit mostly. There are several interactive elements although i did not try them out fully. I would say it was a mediocre place, yet it is still worth the time & money.

This is a pleasant way to spend some time observing not only butterflies but all variety of creepy, crawly creatures! The park is well laid out and creative in its presentation. It seems quite popular for adults and children alike. That being said, don't be surprised to find a number of school tours occurring during the weekdays during your visit. There is something there for everyone to enjoy!

Nice place. We bought the ticket in Shopee. It is Hybrid of indoor and outdoor park. We arrived about 330pm and each of our kid get a baby butterfly in bottle from the farm and kid release the butterfly from the bottle. There are many insects and different butterfly in the farm. There is also cafeteria inside the park.

Very good in introducing various type of valuable exotic and rare reptiles and insects with interesting presentations and digital explanation. Very glad to see that our nation able to build and manage such an outstanding park! Spacious and high quality landscaping design; but less feeding spots and flowering plants to attract butterflies come down compare to old park. Hope will see more different species of butterflies in future.

Great place to take the kids for a few hours. Lots of insects, spiders, scopions and of course butterflies. Our children are aged 8, 5 and 2 and they had a lot of fun running around looking at all this. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. The entrance fee is quite high for a family but it was definitely worth it. A few of the displays were closed /under renovation. Also the cafe is spacious and the food is good, but a little pricey: RM24 for a chicken sandwich with fries was a bit much. But overall it was a really good day out. We were there for about 3 hours excluding lunch and the kids loved it the whole time. Recommended.

Our experience with Entopia starts from the front gate. On weekdays, there is more than plenty of parkings and you should have no trouble with it. Once at the main entrance, the staffs will greet you and direct you to the ticket booth. Once payment has been made, you will be give wrist band as the entrance ticket. Once you are in, you will be in the reptiles area. From there, you will move to the butterfly sanctuary itself. It feels and look like outdoor, but you are still within the facility. You will immediately be greeted with butterflies flying here and there. Food stations are placed everywhere for the butterflies to enjoy their food and we could take a closer look at them or take a pic or two. At the end of the whole journey, you will be back indoor where more scientific approach of the butterflies are shown. Before exiting, you will reach the merchandise store to bring home some momentous. At the time, some section or exhibits are not operational. Some animals are not there as well. The whole experience is wonderful and tiring (it gets really hot in there. So please stay hydrated.) But with the current price, it might be a bit expensive. It is good for one time experience but that's it. You wont go for a second round. However, it is a wonderful place to bring your kids. They will totally love it!!

The entire enclosure is huge and very similar to the setting as Singapore Cloud Forest. However those expecting to see butterfly flying around the entire park will be surprise as the butterfly enclosure is nothing more than a small enclosure in such a huge area. The rest of the building occupied by manmade waterfalls, reptiles, amphibians and etc. Ee can't even spot any Rajah Brooke there😅

A very informative place on insects and some terrestrial animals. The way entopia places information is very creative (it may be childish to some of you but its made for all walks and professions of life). But some people may not appreciate this (just my opinion). You get to touch real larvae/ insects and release a butterfly! Unfortunately, they were a few take backs such as some places were under maintenance and the number of insects available for a species was reduced (it looked like more in their promo video). Entopia should provide alternative route to skip certain section for people who is afraid of certain insects or want to end the tour earlier (a full enjoyed appreciative tour takes about 3 hours). It's worth a trip and the price paid for. If you're a biologist or people with similar background its a good option for you to pay a visit here when you're in penang!

The last time I was here was nearly 10 years ago. The place has been upgraded then and it was more engaging and more organised then before. I bought my ticket from wonderfly and got a discount of rm10 per ticket. I think the entrance fee was worth it as I had so much fun in the place. I love how they compartmentalise the sections and how it flows from one place to another. I love the way they landscape the place. I love reading about a lot of the insects and other animals they have there. It was so very educational. They have dedicated a portion of their area for educational purposes where kids and adults alike could play interactive games while learning more about insects! The cockroach section was great! And the area where you go in to find the hidden insects was really good! Will come again, insyaAllah if I swing by this way again😍😍😍!

We had the best ticket price because we are Penangites plus the government rate. Under four enters for free. At first we thought the exhibition is limited to the open air area but that is just the first part of many parts more indoors. The indoor parts are more interactive however a few areas are not well maintained. Otherwise it was fun and educational. Recommended for family with kids.

Insect and nature lovers are recommended to visit this is place and it's affordable. It's a beautiful paradise and definitely knowledgeable to learn about insects and other animals in there. Although one part of the section was closed, but the rest were amazing. Cafes are available for lunch grabs. You may find many affable butterfly species fluttering around you.

The place that suitable to bring kids exploring and experiencing natures with small creatures. Time to spend around a hour and may be more if we look details one on one for every creature. The place is maintaining well, even the toilet inside there very clean too. There are many spot to take a nice shoot for photography. This time during promotion time is good to bring kids there.

A magical place for hands on releasing of butterflies 'Vita Nova' and their life cycle. Nature trail is short and simple, guided by friendly and charming staff. Bugs exploration is explosive, it is getting to know about bugs and petting them and photo moments with them. And be amazed by the friendly fluttering butterflies, geckoes and stick insects. Absolutely good parking space.

I liked visiting this Butterfly farm, it's very spacious and has a limited amount of animals and insects than those around Cameron Highlands and KL. I saw most of the animals here but the rest of the animals are gone or hiding. The escalator to the Pandora Forest, Lumino City, and Breeding Ground was closed because of COVID 19 after it's reopened. Anyways, it has friendly staff and I also got a chance to hold a leopard gecko in a bug exploration room.

Do you love butterflies? Want to learn about butterflies? Want to interact with them? And you are in Penang. Then set your navigation destination to Entopia. It is one of the largest butterfly garden in Malaysia housing about 15000 butterflies belonging to some 60 species. There are other reptiles and about 200 species of plants. One can experience the birth of a baby butterfly from cocoon. In fact one can also adopt some. It is one of the best live gardens serving as a class room for the nature loving students with some interesting interactive activities to engage. All nature related stuff deserve 5 Stars. Visit these places and show your support for the preservation of nature.

It was one of the finest butterfly sanctuaries. Staffs are very helpful too.. The place also has restraunt and washrooms. Not only home to butterflies it also houses insects and bugs. Great experience. One thing I would advice the management would be please keep staffs to watch kids behaviours. Because i saw kids rough handling the butterflies. So although the place clearly stated do not touch the insects but parents fails to watch their kids. They are many rare species and irresponsible behaviours can cause damage. This is a go to place for family. The kids will love it...

Worth to visit it while I brought the kids to a short gateway to Penang. I personally like the environment but the cafeteria options were limited. A one hour is just enough to finish the whole tour.

This place is magical. There were a garden full of butterflies and informative exhibits about butterflies. For someone who’s passionate about butterflies, you can spend one whole day here to learn everything about this little magical creature. Have fun! 🦋

This a perfect opportunity for the children to be educated about the life cycle of the butterflies. Meanwhile they can see a lots of interesting insects and bugs. And of course beautiful butterflies in the garden. I would say even adults would enjoy the farm and the museum. It is a long drive from George Town but very close to the resorts on the shore Batu Ferringhi. Must see if you are there.

Great place especially for kids. Child friendly environment, for those who loves butterflies, and huge indoor area for kids to play around. Do watch out for weather forecast before u go, as there will be no butterfly during rain. Consider buying ticket online will be cheaper.

I bought my ticket via Klook, it costs cheaper and is easy to use. The butterfly farm is worth visiting although it's located quite far from the city centre. Parking is free but shadeless. Could easily spend 2 hours. There's a lot of dead butterflies and it's quite humid, remember to bring a bottle of water for hydration.

For me personally I love it! Been here when it just opened and now here I am again with my baby 🥰 They have a lot of activities like butterfly release session, touch a bug experience and many more interactive activities. The landscape is also beautiful and well maintained. There are a lot of butterflies species too! Bring your kids here they’ll love it ❤️ They have surau and nursing room too. For me, the price is on a bit high side but so worth it!!

Beautiful place. Enjoyed looking at the butterflies in the outdoor enclosure, which also had reptiles and ducks as well. I do wish some of the other bigger animals (ducks and tortoises) had bigger or separate enclosures. Felt really bad for the butterfly that was trying to fly out of the pond, maybe a big stone would be nice for the insects to climb? Indoor was air conditioned and had other insects, reptiles, and amphibians. Spent a few hours walking around, make sure to bring water, it's pretty humid in the outdoor enclosure

We had two pleasant visits to Entopia butterfly farm in Penang. One each before and after Covid. A great place for the kids to enjoy the outdoor wildlife in the city. There are quite a variety of insect species in the farm other than the butterflies.

Came here on a holiday. Was fortunate that we came at 9.30am when the place was still pretty empty and less crowded. Overall the place is well maintained and there are plenty of butterflies along with other little animals. The layout of the butterfly farm is brilliant. The place felt a lot bigger than expected. Also there's an indoor gallery area where you can enjoy the air conditioning after being in the outdoors (it can get pretty humid and hot). Got my ticket from klook which saves us a few more Ringgits per person. Definitely a place to visit if you have extra time in Penang.

Very nice display and presentation. Large areas with plenty of butterflies and other related exhibitions such as insects, frogs, .... the display guides you through the entire place so you don't miss anything. Beware if you are old or can't walk the distance because once you're in, you walk! Allow for 1-2 hours if you go fast, longer if you truly are interested in entomology etc.

Mid sized place, beautifully landscaped with reasonable collection of butterflies, beetles and other small animals. The place is well maintained and clean. Butterflies flying around you whilst you walk through park

The park is divided into an indoor area and an outdoor area. When we arrived, it was drizzling on and off so the indoor area (being smaller as compared to outdoor area) is quite crowded and cramped. The outdoor area is a bit humid (possibly due to the rainy weather) but has more lanes and alleyways to disperse the crowd about so its more bearable than the indoor area. There is a slightly enclosed area where there are more eggs, caterpillars and butterflies, hence the butterflies would readily just land on any parts of your body and clothes, which is quite a novel experience! Do note the outdoor area is only netted on top so if the rain was any bigger, its quite impossible to explore around. After exiting the outdoor area, there are a few more indoor parts of the park to explore, mainly above the travelators where one can learn more about butterflies and such. And an area below where when we visited, there was a booth setup to provide (different designs, colors will cost differently) spray painted temporary tattoos of a variety of designs which was very appealing to little kids. In general, its a place recommended if you have inquisitive kids.

Beautiful and educational. The wide variety of plants and beautiful butterfly are wonderful to experience. There are all sorts of creepy crawlies to look at in addition to the butterflies which was great for a bug lover like me. Bring water as it gets hot, but bonus the butterflies will land on you if you are sweating as it provides them much needed minerals.

Great place to visit especially with kids. They will be having fun. Educational, lots of nice place to capture, many animals insects and bugs. We bought tickets earlier through Klook, RM 53.10 for adult, RM 35.40 for kids and senior citizen 60yo+. Kids below 4yo enter for free.

Great place to visit with kids, can easily spend half a day here. Loads of butterflies but there's a giant indoor section after it with lots of other animals and insects. Getting a grab to go here is easy but getting one to return could be an issue. Be prepared to wait or pay extra to non grab taxis

It is a great place to visit when you're in Penang. We are a family of 5, with a baby and two small kids. They had fun and really enjoyed exploring the place. We learn a lot about butterfly, insects and plants. The place has outdoor and indoor areas which make it worthy it to visit.

What a great farm. A breathtaking walk through the farm. My little kid enjoyed the beautiful scenery and interacted with the beautiful butterflies. I also enjoyed the scientific part of the farm. I trust this place is great for families with kids.

It was a wonderful experience to enjoy the beautiful butterflies flying around you in a giant ecosystem. One would probably need 3-4 hours to really take in the scenery and knowledge of these magnificent creatures.
