Stayed here in April with a group of 4 people, including a friend from the UK. Was looking forward to relaxing by the pool but it was closed for renovation. The hotel did not post the closure of the pool on its website, unlike the usual practice of other hotels. So we were very disappointed. The staff were apologetic. We nevertheless advised the hotel to quickly post a message on their website as it was a matter of public courtesy and might be even legally required to inform potential customers of facilities closures before they book. The rooms were quite dated and there were damaged wall papers in the one I stayed in. The breakfast was ok, although the spread could be better. The location of the hotel was incredibly good and the staff were really wonderful people.

ล”oom = great. Good bed however the pillows are way too soft for me & not good for my neck. Sadly the hotel could not provide me other pillow option. I had to request extra towels to place over my pillowMaintenence Service = superb. Room Service = excellent. Restaurant = super fine. Great people. Love their vibes & hospitality. Easy breakfast feels like a feast for commoners.

Location is very good. Walking distance to interesting places. While clean and modern I wish the room would be a little bit more spacious. When we ordered a two person meal one of us had to eat on the bed ๐Ÿ˜‚

Good location. Good customer service. Basic hotel for basic stay esp if youโ€™re going to be out exploring Penang. Old but clean looking interiors and furnishing. Hotel next door has a sky bar that plays music/open mic sessions extremely EXTREMELY loud until past midnight (starts from around 8:30pm) so it can be a little bit hard to sleep at night depending where your room is facing. Walls are not soundproof, we can hear the room telephone ringing next door. Room cleaning service only on 3rd day of stay. Mini bar is not stocked.

As a tourist, the best part about staying at Wembley is the location! Many famous local hawkers stalls are just walks away and it's hard not to have 5 meals a day. There's also mall just opposite should you need to shop for amenities or other items. The hotel and rooms are also very clean, comfortable and comes with good facilities, Staff are also welcoming and friendly too. I enjoyed my stay here.

Without a doubt, this is my go-to hotel whenever I travel to Penang. Have been a repeat customer since 2018 and have yet to be disappointed ๐Ÿ‘ Rooms are clean, staff service is great and breakfast is a wonder โค๏ธ Definitely would be great to see some future-proofing done to the rooms and facilities provided. Some of my suggestions include:- - Entertainment center for people to enjoy recreation activities (mahjong, kids space, game room, etc) - USB ports in rooms - Upgraded TVs with mirror casting function (Sunway Hotel has this feature, such a bliss) - Jacuzzi or Sauna - Better quality shower amenities. The current body wash and shampoo is not that great. - Swap out disposable water bottles and go with water dispensers. As a hotel that advocates environmental saving efforts, shouldn't this be a Must-Do? For anyone who's looking for a place to spend their holidays in comfort while exploring Penang, Wembley is definitely a choice you have to consider! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Great hotel for the price point. Take note that room service is once every other day. The only downer for me is the lack of TV channels and perhaps could do with a new and better TV. Theres nothing much we could do at night so a lot of time are spent in the hotel especially at night.

A hotel which you cant really complaint anything. Room with good size, nice interior and superb view! Had buffet lunch at wembley cafe, food is nice! Didn't expect this food standard from a hotel. Maintenance is good too, clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

I was there for attending seminar and not staying at the hotel. I love the location as the hotel is situated on the main road. There are many car parks for people staying in the hotel or people attending seminars...And I don't know about their service as I did not meet anyone or ask for help. But their hotel is clean n hygienic.

Staff front desk Adam is helpful and totally amazing for he is so polite and knowledgeable. I am also thankful to Amirul the maintenance staff who assisted me throughout my problem. I have stayed many times in St Giles Wembley and the bed is so comfy that no hotel in Penang can give such comfy and I have stayed 10 times in a year for almost 7 years. Donโ€™t lose your good staffs , they are superb.

Excellent location right in the middle of heritage city center with many good eateries, landmarks and shopping options. Parking is free for guests and valet parking is available for a fee. The hotel was extremely busy when we tried to check in around 4pm, so there was a long wait but the staff that handled my check in is quick and professional as long as you are reasonable and prepared. The room smelled musky when we entered but got better when the air con kicked in. Parts of the room felt worn and dated but still looks really good to me. Pretty sure it's mostly personal taste. Very pleased with the shower, volume wise great and quick to get to the desired temperature. The bed is of good enough quality to have a restful sleep. Breakfast provided has decent choices and are okay in terms of quality. Replenishment was a bit slow and lacking at times and it gets really crowded due to the narrow space for guests to get food but I imagine it to be a great experience when they are not as busy / crowded. We went at around 9am. It depends on my travel circumstances and the rate/price but I wouldn't mind coming back to this hotel. If only it had some special factor that would really make me want to return, like an amazing breakfast or a global loyalty program. Overall, I've been very pleased with my stay albeit I had a much higher expectations due to the location, good branding and image. There were certainly many flashes of brilliance in my experience in an otherwise serviceable stay that was at times hampered by the peak season crowd.

The hotel is new and nice with beautiful lobby and rooms. However, my issues are with the intangible things that cannot be captured on photo. Sound Insulation in the room is horrible . I can hear cars on the streets , and other guests opening and closing their doors is as loud as it is though Iโ€™m opening and closing my own door. Also the Wifi is almost non existent. House keeping is only on alternate days. I asked for some water one night and it did not arrive at all. Had to call them again next morning to remind them for water. When we checked in, there was also nobody at the concierge to help us with our luggage. Even though there was a concierge counter. We had to pull 5 pieces of luggage by ourselves after a long and tiring drive. Hotel Staff are very polite and helpful , but the management needs to improve on all other aspects of the hotel. And hire more staff as I feel this hotel is severely short of manpower.

Hotel was located in the centre of Penang, George Town City. Convenient for shopping, searching for food & art. Walking distance to the opposite was the iconic Komtar, 1st Avenue & Prangin Mall. 2 - 3 min drive to (UNESCO) Goddess Mercy Temple, Street Art. 3 min drive to Cecil St. Market, Chulia St. & Kimberley St. which you can find a lot of International/Penang famous local delicacy like: - Asam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Pie Tee, Oyster Omelette, Prawn Mee, Nasi Kandar, Pasembur, White Curry Mee, Lor Bak & etc. The 2 night stay at the superior twin bed room was clean & neat. The room view & pool view was direct facing to the iconic Komtar Tower & partial of sea view. However there's some up sad because the room we book doesn't come with the refrigerator, so we doesn't have place keep our food & drinks we bought from this food of heaven. Staff was accommodating, the kettle in our room was leaking & we made call for exchange. In few minutes later, the staff replace a new one for us. Parking space here was spaces but you need to be careful when you enter or exit the hotel especially the turning up or down the corner. Overall, we enjoyed & have a pleasant stay. Will plan to come back soon.

A but tired hotel but still Rock! Very good breakfast, big enough rooms, gorgeous location! Pool is in the shadow area most of the time. You should visit it before 10.30 if you want to sunbathe while in water. Water is a bit cold anyway.

Best location in the middle of George Town. We can see Top Penang in front of us. We can see a outdoor dinosaurs Park inside Komtar Building from our room. The Room was clean and tidy. We were staying 4 days 3 nights. Surprisingly, we were told the room will be clean only alternate days by the hotel officer. We call the manager and she was very helpful to clean our room everyday.

Room was comfortable and clean, although can tell that the quality of furnishings around the room isnโ€™t one of the highest quality since most of it started to have scuffs and rough edges. Some of the lighting around the room was not functioning as wel. Free wifi is provided although I have to say it felt sluggish a lot of times. TV quality was quite poor also at most channels. Our room was facing Jen Hotel and they have live performances on rooftop until past midnight which wasnโ€™t very pleasant. Housekeeping services provided only on 3rd day (we stayed 4 days 3 nights) - surprised this was the case considering that some hotels provided morning housekeeping and evening turn down services. As an overall, I appreciated the convenience of the location and the free parking however felt that they can improve a lot more in the areas highlighted above.

Stayed for five days. Overall a great experience. Receptions are super polite and accommodating for all of my needs, housekeeping doing a good job. Breakfast and in-dining are delicious. Loves their omelette and salmon. Pool with city view, relaxing. Superb location. Recommended and would stay here again.

Room is okay, good service from the staff especially the security at main entrance. Very helpful. Strategic location where you can easily get Grab whenever you want. Very near to tourist spot, food place and mall. Great facilities, got infinity pool, however the view from pool not really great. Housekeeping service can be improved. The do not clean room everyday due to alternate day housekeeping. Even when you requested to clean everyday.

Right in the heart of Penang, walking distance to the mall. Well appointed and great location. Most of all, super duper excellent service. Was honestly a little irritated because of the heavy traffic, but stepping into the lobby and meeting the friendly top notch service of the front desk folks really made the experience exceptional. Really really deeply appreciate the connecting rooms and the wedding anniversary set up. Super sweet and delightful service. Loving everything about this hotel and they are really all the good things I have heard about this hotel and more. Definitely will come back.

The hotel is very nice. Sure, the room we stay in is not the latest state of the art. But the bathrooms are clean, aircon is working, in the room there is a kettle, a small fridge, TV and daily water -refill,... All in all very good for a longer stay. The biggest plus is the hotel staff. Very welcoming, all the time helpful and trying to fulfill all of the guest's wishes. Thanks for making the best effort during these difficult times!

It was absolutely delightful to find my room decorated with such charm for my birthday! The elephant was adorable, and the delicious chocolate cake was a truly thoughtful touch. Moreover, we were impressed by the attentiveness and professionalism of Mr Saran, Guest Service Agent who assisted me at the front desk. He was incredibly helpful in answering my questions and accommodating my requests, all with a warm and polite demeanor.

I would say 10/10. Worth every penny. Highly recommended for who wished to stay in penangโ€™s hotel. All of the staff friendly too. Iโ€™ve checked in during non public holiday which not so crowded. Not sure what weekends/PH looks like. Also i can add on super comfort baby cot for my 9months old baby for free. However you guys wont regret to stay here. Wished can stay longer๐Ÿฅน

Stayed here since 2015- been my favourite hotel every time i came back to penang. The bed and pillow is so comfy. Literally the best mattress you could ever experience. And the overall hotel layout is tip top. Will repeat staying here again.

First time staying at the hotel due to Malcom event. The room i stayed was spacious and the bed was firm. Only gripes I had is the soft pillows which I hate. Lucky they gave 4 pillows and after stacking 3 of them, it was nice. Service is good nothing to complain. Breakfast spread was good to except I would prefer if the spread is the same for the executive lounge. I was sent there at their cafe was full. WIFI need to be upgraded. Kinda slow and spotty. Overall, good hotel to stay.

Re visit after a long time for a buffet dinner with family, food were just ok nothing to shout about, more frustration when paying for car park, 2nd floor machine is out of order, the signage said can pay at 3rd floor machine BUT there is no where to be found, with the narrow parking, we were forced to wait at the side while I need to take lift to G floor to pay, since both parking down they have not allocated emergency parking station for guest convenient, we need queue and pay at reception, complain to the reception staff they give me a โ€œnot my problemโ€ face, waste of time for this dinner and RM8 per entry for dinner like this? NOT Going to visit this hotel anymore where there are tones of good hotel out there.

The hotel is a large tourist hotel. The room was satisfactory and clean. Pros: - location to Georgetown tourist spots, - Great views, - free parking, - cafe and restaurant Cons: - Not enough bandwidth for internet and movie channels after 9pm. Both become unusable. Internet less than 1mbs, movie channels freezing. - very busy - same product in the shampoo and body wash dispensers. Suggest bringing your own shampoo - expensive laundry

Had company dinner here. The menu tastes good. The server was attentive to empty glass and empty plate. The room was neither hot nor cold. Looking for the hotel from the parking lot can be a bit confusing since its joined with another hotel

Nice and clean hotel at convenient location. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Blackout curtains. Very clean and modern, well kept. Quiet. No traffic sound from the main road all day. We were on the 19th floor and facing the main road. Highly recommended.

Stayed for just one night to break up a bigger trip so a limited experience. Room clean and reasonably comfortable with a great view. Was a bit on the small side for an extended stay. Did not have breakfast so canโ€™t comment and preferred to eat at one of the many places nearby. Wasnโ€™t impressed by the pool as we prefer to swim and sunbathe in the sun. Half the pool and all the lounges were in the shade most of the day in late October. The pool at the hotel opposite looked more inviting. The sky bar was shut when we were there.

The food was very nice and delicious. The service was good and the staff were friendly. We organized an event there. The ballroom is gracious and grand. Love the ambiance. Parking lot also a lot. Very convenient to access the hotel since it's situated in the heart of Georgetown and near to KOMTAR.

Comfortable stay and I loved the decor in their bathrooms as well! They had a false ceiling light which gave a very cosy feeling. Staff was friendly and helpful! They have free parking even for rented cars, do note that the car park lift is separate from the hotel lobby lift. Convenient location as well! It's on the left side of the road and quite near the traffic so you gotta cut lanes quite quickly.

Stayed here for two nights recently. Location is great and central. Staff was very courteous and they gave us an early check in without much bother about official checkin timings etc. This was a great relief with kids, especially after a long journey from down south. Pool was nice and sheltered with sufficient wading area for kids. Didnโ€™t try breakfast as Georgetown is a food haven. They have a policy of alternate day housekeeping which is not really ideal as we stayed for 2 nights only, so there was no housekeeping done. Would definitely consider again as i feel it is the best value for the price point.

For events, this hotel has superb facilities and can accommodate a large audience with refurbished rooms & halls, advanced equipments, multi purpose rooms and a good kitchen. Not many places in Penang has all these great facilities at a single venue. Very accommodating management especially for event coordination. Great client relationship management and event coordination is professional. Overall a great experience, will come back for future events and will recommend to others.

Horrible housekeeping service, arguably the worst. Rooms not made, no new amenities provided. Had to call front desk four times to ask for new towels and refill of toilet rolls. Requested for room cleaning in the morning, came back to an unmade room. We chose this hotel due to the great reviews but nah even a 3 star hotel could do better. Totally unacceptable. Understand its not exactly the front desk's fault - but imagine spending the whole day out and coming back to a dirty room. And when you call for amenities refills it doesn't come. You paid for a four star experience that failed to deliver. Not worth the monies. Ruined the whole hotel experience for me. Extremely unimpressed and would not recommend if things do not improve. Side note - great location for grabs, malls, quick bites and convenience stores.

Occupancy of the hotel was pretty low the night I stayed due to the pandemic, but they still provided excellent service. Plenty of parking (free validation for hotel guests) and clean rooms. Requested for late check out and was granted, very flexible overall during this period.

Nice comfy rooms, although the TV reception could use some improvements (a bit fuzzy, not sharp even though cable stations). Friendly and professional cafe staff. Breakfast quality and food range is satisfactory. Overall a nice and memorable stay.

I did a proposal there and thankful for the hotel staff to allow set-up. We did cleaned up the set-up on the day we checked out by the way. However, my gf's friend tried to send her a cake and she mentioned that Miss Ng from front desk wasn't helpful and showed her attitude. Some other pointers to share:- 1. It's located in strategic location which First Avenue is just opposite and it is not too far away from other eateries (short driving distance). 2. We opted for breakfast and the food was exactly the same for our 2-day stay. Will recommend to dine out since Penang is a food heaven. 3. You can exchange your parking ticket with the front desk for a FOC parking. Just return it back upon your check out will do. 4. The room & toilet was tidy & clean but due to Covid, they only clean alternate day or upon request. The room sound blocking is bad. Can hear the other guests opening / closing the doors and talking loudly in the middle of the night. Can also hear the live band performing but we are not complaining as we get to enjoy from the comfort of our room. 5. There is also a RM3 service tax per night for hotel of 4-5 stars and above. The hotel is quite traditional and as they only accept cash or credit card (not supported by Samsung Pay / e-Wallet) In conclusion, it was an OK stay if you are not picky.

Room is clean and contains all the basics needed like shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, shower cap, toothpaste n brush, coffee tea .Stayed at superior room with breakfast. BREAKFAST SPREAD IS AMAZING. Worth every penny paid for the stay. Vast selection and fresh ingredients at the Wembley Cafe.

One of a premier hotel in Georgetown.. They have a gym and a pool at 11th floor, cafe at 2nd.. why do I hold another 1 star? Coz I spesifically request a room makeover but was denied and said alternate day, I only stayed for 2 nights and I need that room makeover..

Stayed 3 nights for leisure trip. Great location, easily walkable to main food and attraction spots nearby. Hotel staff was very pleasant and allowed us to check-in earlier. Room was clean. A minor sore point was nearby karaoke or some performance that takes off every evening around 9pm onwards. Suggest to get a quiet room if you are easily bothered by noises. Overall top notch hotel!

Rooms are dated but very clean and well maintained. Breakfast variety is fabulous, and lots of it. Good coffee also. Sky bar is really friendly, good selection to choose from. No hot water, or water at all on friday night and sunday night. No one cares. It happens here. Had to fight to get a room change so we could prepare for a wedding. Place is a joke. Pay more and get modern facilities

The room is getting age with wall paper torn and toilet wall on edges are molded. The hotel management is cost cutting even try to inform us no housekeeping if you stay 2 nights, alternate day only do the cleaning but we need to check out already. I book this hotel thought it will be newer compared to other hotel. Interior are not good quality. I reach late around 11pm no one helping on luggage anymore and lounge table are dirty.
