We stayed only for one night and we booked only for the room, without breakfast. All were fine. Room was clean, bathroom was clean. We asked for an extra bed. It was quickly done. My child went to the pool with husband. I wasn't there but according to them, the pool was fine. It was just there were lots of birds and they had to chase out the birds multiple times.

We are currently staying at this hotel. The moment we went in the room, we had to call housekeeping as the sheets were not clean. I do not understand all the reviews about the breakfast, as after traveling 2 weeks through Malaysia, this has so far been the worst breakfast. No ham, no cheese, only one kind of white bread, no variety of fruits, a lot of empty plates, no coffee machine, only sunny side up eggs (?), broken toaster, no variety of sweet stuff. Just terrible! We are going to look for some place to have a decent breakfast now.

Great location and one of the best night markets in that part of Georgetown. Rooms are clean and bathrooms are reasonable sized. Staff in the lobby were helpful and very accommodating. Large screen in the lobby lounge that also serves meals.

First time staying at Sunway hotel Georgetown and was very pleased with it's location where it is within walking distance to grab food. The hotel also provide free parking. The daily housekeeping of the hotel room was great and the room is very comfortable to stay.

Location is good. However i don't understand the point of giving free parking pass when parking always full. when asked where should we park, they said either park at the back of the hotel which very dark, stranded, narrow and NEED TO REVERSE FOR NEARLY 200M FOR PARKING or we have to pay for parking outside the hotel. second, the breakfast so bad, no taste and when malaysia gov allow to dine in for those with 2 doses vaccine, they maintain to pack their food. cost effective for them i guess?

One of the best hotels to stay. Located in center of the town and easy to find. I stayed 2 nights with my family. Parking is free for guests. It was covered and secure parking. Check in-out was very quick and convenient. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Beds and pillows are so comfy and so the room. There is a pool and gym on 3rd floor. Very near to all the tourist places,malls and restaurants within walkable distance. Staff and service was also very good Over all this place is strongly recommedned for stay.

VERY BAD MANAGEMENT... yes u can ask.. wht is purpose customer come.. but u have no rites to insulting the customer.. by asking customer to show the prove.. not trusted..and laugh at us. even i show the report.. really terrible management.. a big hotel react like a cheap... than the small hotel. No star should b given to this hotel. if really u need such stupid rules...u have to ask agoda or booking .com...to mentioned in ur terms and condition in the policies.. tht also dun hv. than how i as customer have to knw..

Great hotel for a few nights! Good location, near Komtar and on the doorstep of street food on some nights. Rooms were clean, all classic amenities are available. There is an equipped gym and a nice swimming pool with a jacuzzi (although it wasn't hot on our visit). Our bed wasn't that comfortable, it was a combination of two single beds, to make is a king size. The breakfast was alright, choice is limited, the staff operating the breakfast were pretty lazy, they let items run out and were slow to refill them. Otherwise other staff were friendly and helpful.

Location of Sunway hotel was simply impeccable. If not for the adverse weather conditions, every important attraction (food) in Penang Georgetown is effectively walkable. - Rooms were big enough for 2 grown men to navigate and share even with 2 beds - toilets were clean and spacious - gym was surprisingly sufficient for a hotel around the area - Down the road, you had plenty of food options. - Dont skip on the food option just opposite the hotel which was simply impeccable

Mit dem Zimmer war alles in Ordnung. Der Empfang war ziemlich unhöflich. Bei der Abreise war anderes Personal anwesend, die bewiesen haben, dass es auch freundlicher geht. Das Hotel ist direkt an der Foodstreet, Geschäften, Restaurants und Banken.

A good hotel with clean facilities and good services. Friendly and helpful personnel. Room I had was clean and had a good dose of sunlight coming through the windows. A well thought out layout. Sufficient sockets and plug-in internet to be used. Bathroom was clean and the shower door works! Hot and cold water system works too. The hotel is conveniently located close to New Lane street hawkers area. Not too far to walk into town -- for those who love to walk and put eyeballs here and there. There are many Grab cars and even taxis if you want that. The hotel also provides free shuttle service to fixed popular touristy spots. The rate of room-- reasonable by Penang standards.

Room size is ok. Gym equipment are minimal. No guard/attendant by the pool. Guests played with the life buoyant, washed their slippers in the pool. Apart from maintaining a high standard of service, a good hotel should also try to manage guest expectations (ergo behaviour). Apart from the good service and good location. This is a place for you to sleep after a hearty meal.

Good, spacious and clean hotel. Location is good , walking distance to many eatery. After five , many night stall setting up along the road on the left side of the hotel, you can find plenty Penang street food here . Was there first night which is a Wednesday , stalls was closed, I think they were off on Wednesday. The next , all businesses resumed .

The stay was comfortable and relatively clean but I was shocked that a hotel tax was charged even though I am a Malaysian. Went to other hotels and they did not charge any at all. Not really sure if they are just following the SOP but it would be great if the management could look into this.

Spacious room with Komtar tower view, Breakfast not included, cost RM31.8 each but very limited food variety so we went once only and went to Dim Sim restaurant nearby. Hotel provides free-ride to several famous tourist spots, however, we didn’t know it until the last day that we found there was a sign board at the corner of main entrance. Too pity, make sure you utilize it if you stay in this hotel.

Lovely hotel that is clean and quiet. Great location too. Has good quality products for showering and hand wash which was a great touch. The only negative is the lack of a restaurant so you need to go out for your meals.

This is my 3rd stay. Previously was great and that is why i choose this hotel for my stay this time. Came during public holiday - deepavali. Stayed for 2 nights. The restaurant was still closed for dine in. No buffet breakfast. Daily breakfast was packed in advance with 1 choice of cuisine + fruits + bread + your choice of coffee or tea. U hv to come downstairs and collect. Queue for half an hour to get my breakfast. Staff said they start open restaurant for buffet on 15 nov. The hotel was clearly short of staff. Even bellman, front office staff and security came to help distribute breakfast to guest. Room was spacious. Waited 2 hrs for my room key as i arrive earlier than check in time. Dissappointed to see dust in the toilet. Amenities also limited. Last time i came there was sewing kit and shoe polish and cotton buds etc. Now only soap and toothbrush. My room comes with a complementary late check out but the hotel refuse to give me as they are at high occupancy rate during my stay. the hotel was clearly short of staff which make your stay less satisfaction. but their staff are well trained and experienced and very polite and tried their best to provide a pleasant stay for their guest.

Check-in – Hassle free and fast. Lobby was impressive and huge. There is contactless check-in and out available. . Location - Well located with New Lane Night street food just next to hotel. However not impressed with the food. Walking distance to Penang Times Square though we missed it. It took us about 30 minutes from hotel to Penang International Airport. ‘ Room – Stayed at Family Room with breakfast for 3. A single bed and king bed configuration. Basic but clean. The guy from housekeeping had done a good job. Toilet paper was replenished. Towels were changed. . Bathroom – Clean and functional facilities. Very strong water pressure with easy flow of hot water. Pool and gym - A very small pool and gym. . Breakfast - Very simple spread. Noticed ants in the carrot bowl. Informed and it was immediately changed.

Overall great experience and comfortable stay! Convenient location with hawker food downstairs and nearby the hotel at night, with some cafe and eateries around. Securities and hotel staff fast in assisting requests. Family room is spacious, the only downside is probably just no fridge in the room other than that, nothing more to feedback about!

The hotel service staffs are friendly and helpful. The room is clean. But the view from my room is gorgeous. This particular room gives you the views of the gorgeous hills, the beautiful Georgetown's skyline is tastefully blend of old and new architecture. Thank for the pleasant experiences.

Room was clean and comfortable with full amenities. The service of the staff was excellent. Even the female guard taking care of the parking was so friendly and helpful. But the buffet breakfast was so so. Needs a lot of improvement in terms of variety and flavor. The street food in Lorong Baru was just beside the hotel. If we go back, we would definitely skip eating in the hotel. Other than the buffet, the hotel was a great place.

Stayed 3 nights in here, good location with many food just downstairs of the hotel. The room we stayed in was very clean and pleasant. We were given a 14th room with great view. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, when we gave our feedback to a lady from the hotel on the aircon as there was sound generating from the fan coil, it was immediately rectified on the same day. Excellent service! Very thumbs up for them. Will definitely same here again the next time in Penang.

Good location, clean and comfortable room. Lobby staffs is helpful but when we reach after 3pm, our room is still not ready. Parking is free and it is near a row of night food market with a famous fried flat noodle

Just had 2 nights stay from 25 to 27/11/23. Thanks for the little decoration for our annivesary. The location is super convenient because so many food selection nearby and short distance to Komtar Penang. No shuttle bus provided due to breakdown of vehicle. Provide the breakdown in invoice

Hotel room and toilet was large. Toilet bowl had some black line which could not come out. But generally clean. Took the buffet breakfast, had quite a number of flies. Taste wise was ok. Conveniently located near food streets. There's a mart round the corner, and ban heang across the street to buy souvenirs.

The hotel is 3 star... The staff are really friendly and helpful, the room was adequate. Breakfast was not that good. Ok I get it I am European but a household toaster, instant coffee were just not enough. The location alone warrants a mention right next to the food / restaurant area...

Nice clean hotel with decent facilities! Room is clean and everything is provided for. It’s also near to a night market which provides easy food access. Gym is well equipped with towels and water cooler. Only thing that disappointed was the pool…

Strategic location and clean room but unfortunately our room can open and access without access card. Informed reception immediately when we noticed during the time want go out for dinner. Even though the engineer come immediately for repairing but need us keep waiting for long time with hungry stomach without advise need to wait how long or can change to proper room or any complimentary.

Great hotel. Kind staff. Very clean hotel. The room and corridor carpets are getting old. But no complaint about the cleanliness. There is a breakfast buffet which costs around 50RM plus. The hotel has a free shuttle service to some of the tourist spots. You can prebook.

Good clean hotel. Very convenient with street foods nearby. Walking distance to Domino Pizza and 24 hrs McDonalds. Nevertheless, the self check-in kiosk need improvement. Check in around 6pm and message shown the room not ready. Still need to go to the frontdesk for check-in.

Disappointing hotel. We expected better. Cons: swimming pool is small (unable to do laps, dirty with pigeons bathing in it every morning and it smells really bad deep fried fish food, horrible). Rooms had ants everywhere including bathroom. Restaurant over priced. Checking completed by unhappy and moody staff with poor English. Pros: rooms are large, good black out curtains, good location with plenty of food choices. Nice gym.

Cozy room environment with adequate gym equipment in the fitness center. Hopefully those nearby hawker stalls can survive this pandemic and looking forward to enjoy Penang food again.

The hotel rooms were good and clean. We were quite happy with the facilities. On a normal day, the location of the hotel to all the food stalls would be ideal but we went during lockdown and the choices were still quite abundant.

Just return from our 4th stay in this hotel. We enjoy the location of the hotel which near to New Lane hawker food street. We like the room design, room size not too big but just cozy and nice. Only 1 thing to comment is the bed not as comfortable as 4 star hotel. Want to compliment most of the staff are friendly especially the Indian lady security guard. Staff not many compare before MCO and we can understand short of staff to pick up call in front desk especially checkout time.

Had a peaceful stay here. Very clean and tidy place well maintained, very helpful and polite staff. Reasonable rates. Good gym. Pool is kind of ok. But only drawback is their cafe/restaurant is closed nor they provide and plates to spoons if you need to kids. And parking gets full by evening. So you need to hurry up or use paid parking opposite to the hotel.

Smooth check in and check out. Great service from the staff handling luggage storage, friendly and helpful. The bedroom is clean and cozy, although the mattress was hard, awake with a stiff back. Surprisingly, the breakfast was packed in meal box and outsource. We collect from the hotel restaurant and have it in the room as the restaurant was closed. The food was nice. Hotel location was right next to the restaurants and shops. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Will come again, but opt out the breakfast.

Decent, but not the best. The open car park space had a lot of bird poop as there were a lot of birds. So, beware for your car. The facilities were poor as the pool was much smaller than advertised and most of the gym facilities were not functioning. The cafe downstairs was also not open for breakfast and meals. Although the stay was somewhat disappointing, it was a great location to travel around nearby to get great local foods.

First time here but would probably not be back for a long time. The service is great but the room leaves a lot to be desired. While the bed and space is clean and spacious, there were a lot of issues. No 1 , the lock to the room was malfunctioning constantly. Didn’t need a room key card to enter, just had to simply turn the door knob. No 2 the fridge was spoiled, many of my food items especially desserts that I bought, went bad overnight. Truly a let down, if you do not have the needed appliance for the room, just say so, don’t put a broken one in and give someone false hope. Lastly the toilet stinks, the shower is fine but the bathroom is horrible. Smells like sewage water everytime you flush. Overall a decent experience but for those planning a staycation, stay away from here.

The Sunway is a good hotel located at the border of the historical centre of Georgetown, A few minutes walk from the Komtar tower and very near to a night market. We had two rooms (deluxe king and deluxe twin). The rooms were a bit small but it was ok. Neither of the two fridges were working. The swimming pool was really small (the picture is a bit misleading). Anyway, the value for money is good and we enjoyed our stay there.

I have been coming to this hotel since birth. It is the best hotel in Penang. Service has an always been excellent. I'm hard to please so this is amazing. Great rooms, beautiful views from room. Pools are perfect with a nice jacuzzi by the side. Highly recommend it. 😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Thanks to the reception,to let us check in early. As We inform them ,we have been driving since 3am. We were surprised with the clean room. The location is good. Don't need to worry about food . Shopping mall just 10min walk. All the staff are really good and polite.

Very good customer service at front desk. Was greeted and serve by Christ.. 👍 Hotel staff n hotel stays was excellent. But the cafe cannot make it. We had early dinner at 5+ pm at cafe. No other customers accepts us 11pax. Food served 1hr + later with some food came with wrong order.
