Very nice assam laksa & spring rolls!!! The laska was relatively spicy but otherwise light and refreshing with bits of mint and pineapple as garnishes. The spring rolls were freshly fried.

"Life changing" asam laksa ... to us anyway! Our favourite asam laksa cafe, run by a lovely family and 2 sleepy cats :). The asam laksa has just the right tang, fishiness and spiciness. We had 2 bowls each and even contemplated sharing bowl number 3.

Near to the Penang Art Street Murals. Went there for lunch. Ordered the laksa, popiah and apple/orange juice. Was told to dip the popiah in the laksa gravy to get the gorgeous taste. Saw the family cat who looks unperturbed by the customers. A lovely painting on the wall of the elderly owner.

Lemak laksa and iced white coffee were great. Their signature is the Assam laksa but I went with the Lemak laksa because it is cooked with coconut milk and I am a sucker for coconut milk. It was delicious with creamy tangy soup and fresh ingredients. Noodles were balanced with vegetables, pineapple and fish. Great portion size for price (1 bowl 7rm). Large iced white coffee for 4rm. Everything here is well priced. Very friendly service with some adorable and friendly neighborhood cats too. English friendly. Also great location next to many tourist sites.

Now this is a place that will be close to my family's heart and stomach. We first came about 7-8 years ago during our first visit to Penang as tourists. We had quite accidently stepped in while doing the tourist rounds in the area and needing a bite. We then had our first bowl of laksa. Fast forward to 2023, we are Penang residents now. And after hits, and mostly misses, we came back to this lovely little place. We even met a new, albeit sleepy, family member that we hadn't met last time. There are even fewer entries on the menu than on our first visit. Assam laksa and spring rolls were on the list today. Oh boy was it worth the return! Good portion sizes, the right amount of tanginess (could have been a bit spicier) and the spring rolls ready for a decent dunking. The apple and orange juices were fresh and the cold white coffee was brilliant. Note to self - when in the mood for laksa just find your way here. The family will welcome you and feed you well.

Very nice & friendly people here! The young boss spend time to recommend food as my husband keep asking questions. The Laksa is special and authentic, I like it ! Will recommend friends to eat the Asam Laksa !

Their laksa lemak is one of the most unique laksas you can find in the entire country, and their iced white coffee was just the best. Friendly staff, very centrally located, a must if you’re in Oldtown walking around

Chanced upon this cafe while hunting for murals in the Art Street. This is truly a hidden gem—one of, if not the best bowl of Asam Laksa I've tasted in Penang. As a plus, the owners are very friendly and welcoming, engaging in warm conversation while we were waiting for our food. To top it off, they own 2 adorable cats which can keep you entertained while dining. Recommended for those who love cats and Asam Laksa!

Shiok. Came by accident as looking a short stop before finding art wall. Ordered laksa, fish ball and white coffee. Suits my tasting overall. Unsure what's consider best but fair enough for me to say I will be back again

Very nice people here. Love the asam laksa!!!! I'd visit everytime I come penang. The taste remains the same even after so many years. Some drinks menu were gone as they have a new ice kacang stall.

The Assam laksa here is delicious and deserving of its Michelin bib gourmand! The soup is tastefully balanced, just the right amount of sweet and sour. Durian coffee was also delicious. I couldn't believe how quiet it was the two times I've visited, come give this place a visit!

Owner and family are all very warm people😍 They saw me and greeted me😄 This cafe is an old school cafe at a shophouse. Place is very clean and with retro decor. A small bowl of Assam laksa but was very filling for me already- and such divine taste! 😍😍😍 The owner’s son told me to try dip the spring roll into the Assam soup and that was such a great suggestion! Yummy!!! 😋😋😋

The service and food was great. The owner and the people at this place were friendly. The laksa was delicious. But i love their spring rolls. Recommend coming here 👍

Everyone here is so warm and friendly. We tried the Asam Laksa and Lemak Laksa here. Both dishes are covered with lots of fish bits and they're generous with the ingredients as well. Definitely recommend trying the Lemak Laksa if you've never tried before 😍

The Assam Laksa here has been living in my head for 3 and a half years since last time I tried it. It was everything I remembered and more, There are 2 dishes on the menu (3 on a Friday), but when something is this good you don't need any more. The Laksa was so flavourful with a gentle lingering heat. The accompanying spring rolls were also delicious and as recommended awesome for dipping in the Laksa. If I wasn't so full I would have ordered a second dish to see me through to my next visit.

Great restaurant. Brought back a lot of nostalgic things. Really comfortable with people around here. Laksa, and KuewTiaw is really tasty, spicy a bit but totally satisfied with it. Loved it though. Beverages got nothing special. Normal. Service was pretty nice. Not too bad. Recommended.

Laska, spring rolls and one ice coffee, total 21RM. Back here after 5 years, the taste is still the same!! super love their Aasam Laska, my go-to!! Will be back ✨

Both types of laksa are very delicious. Price is slightly on the high side. The spring rolls are just average.

  • 4/5 Hannaziera A. 4 years ago on Google
Friendly and inviting staff. Food was good, fast and cheap! Same price as hawker, but nice to sit inside for a bit with fan and get a break from the sun. Had the Assam laksa, char kuey teow and fried rice. Great food and great place !! i very like it !!!

Laksa is nice. Can taste the fish broth. Sourness is just right. But a little bit too spicy. The apple juice is good. Really like drink from the the green apple. Iced white coffee is nice too. It has froth on top. Felt the owner really spend lots of time and love serving all their food.

Come here for the unique lemak Laksa which is only available on Fridays. Owner was very friendly to let us have a taste of it despite us ordering the assam laksa. If I knew that their speciality was the lemak laksa, I would have ordered it. The soup will grow into you. Initially thought it would taste like Katong Laksa (Singapore) but it’s not at all.

Throughout the Border Restrictions, Owner had been running delivery services, certain days delivering at certain areas on rotation through out Penang Island and we are lucky to enjoy it at our home. Same consistent great taste every time. Ingredients are fresh and broth is full of fish flakes. Assam Laksa or Lemak Laksa, they are both delicious in its way.

The food is too good that I didn't take the before picture. I geberally dislike spring rolls- but I ate 3 Laksa hits the spot and the juices are fresh. Highly recommended 🤩

Soooo good! Spring roll is nice and light and crispy. Asam laksa is what they specialise in - not too sour and very palatable. They have nonya laksa but only for delivery. Desserts are really good too

Cheap eats for sure! The Malaysian laksa was absolutely delicious but I’d probably pass on a side of fish balls again. These guys pump out food and you cannot fault the laksa - so rich and deep in flavour. Just turn a blind eye to the cat jumping in out of the cupboard where the crockery is stored 😅

Very good ambience, greeted by friendly owners. Asam laksa tasted absolutely delicious(we ordered more after a bowl), something that we can't get elsewhere especially in Singapore! Would highly recommend to order their popiah to pair with the laksa!

Major love for their assam laksa and don’t forget to order their popiah! Warm hospitality, good food. MUST COME❤️ there are two types of laksa but our favourite is always the assam laksa. Dip the popiah in the assam! YUMMY! Available for takeaway too

Dining at your parents house kinda feeling? Check. Tasty food that warms your heart? Check. A family run joint that only offers asam laksa, lemak laksa (only Fridays), and spring rolls. We had the lemak laksa and I slurped every drop clean. The spring rolls were flaky and light - delicious indeed when dipped into the laksa broth. No fuss, but cash only. Would be helpful if ewallet made available :)

Friendly and inviting staff. Food was good, fast and cheap! Same price as hawker, but nice to sit inside for a bit with fan and get a break from the sun. Had the Assam laksa, char kuey teow and fried rice. Try the Durian coffee!
