Whoever said that their food is good clearly have never had any proper western food. Had the blandest tasting western food in my life, mash potato was a disaster, strawberry milkshake is basically frothed Dutch Lady milk. Grilled chicken tasted like it was pan fried, mixed grilled is so bland, german sausage and the burger patty is pretty good tho. Burger buns tasted really weird.

Penang people is lucky to have James Foo here. Their signature Chicken Chop Is definitely best in Msia. Period. The Best of the best. Come and try it. You'll be hooked. Fish n Chip with amazing tartar sauce. Honey Oat Chicken tasted great too. Fantastic food. My annual treats and Everytime back to Penang must eat Chicken Chop and Fish n Chips. Keep up the tasty food. Reasonable price for the high quality food.

One of the better restaurants in Penang to indulge in western food. Cosy ambience with spacious surroundings, and seating arrangements were open and not cramped. We tried their Chicken Chop, Salmon Steak and Combo Meat (chicken and fish). All tasted pretty good. If i am not mistaken, the secret to their tasty dishes lies in the sauces. The sauce was an excellent addition to the meals served. Pricing was reasonable and ample parking space too.

We really like this place and have been here several times. It calls itself western food, but it is a bit different than what you would actually get in America or Europe. Never the less it is very good food, with very reasonable prices, good service and a very comfortable environment. Just a simple restaurant with simple foods. We quite like the pork chops, fish, chicken cordon blue and sausages here. Our favorite part however is how you order. They give you a menu, an order sheet and a pencil. You select by the order code and tell them when you are ready. Quite an easy process. I put a few example pics of the foods we have tried.

The space in beteween each seat quite peak, not really comfortable. The taste of their food just so so, their drinks quite okay. Their service crew quite friendly. Based to their environment and atmosphere, this is a place that suitable for a normal dinner but not really suitable for gathering or any celebration.

Food is delicious, recommended to porkchop lovers. Have parking lots, but you need to pay🤣

We went to this place as a family of 4 on the Christmas Day for lunch. There were celebrations and the atmosphere was fantastic (although it was a bit loud at times, but hey it's Christmas). The range to choose from was great, foods were great, and the staff were very friendly and apologetic about the not too long wait for our foods. It was also very easy for us to find a car park so that saved us a lot of hassle. I highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again in the future.

Western food that tastes good with a sizable portion at an affordable price. Tables/seats can be very limited, especially during peak hours.

The food was good, the hospitality was remarkable. just that I personally felt, the charge for SST was adequate.. a separate charge for Service Tax wasn't necessary.. But then, it's just my personal opinion.. Enjoy the joint peeps.. Cheers!

Food was delicious, environment was hygienic and comfortable and the service staff is top notch! They were extremely friendly and efficient. Great place to dine with your family or friends. Definitely will return for the great experience. Highly recommended!

I'm the first generation customer for this famous local Western food restaurant over 10 years. It's used to affordable and delicious menu provide to everyone. During my last visit, I feel shock the meal quality that serves by them are dramatically drop. Not fresh ingredients, the way they prepare the meal. Very disappointed. Overall bad experience, I would expect improvement in future. Think twice to visit here to avoid spoil your Precious moment with your love one.

Went for an evening meal no bookings, just got in. Very welcoming staff.Tables were busy, but we were offered a table. Great food, cooked from fresh and great portions. Enjoyed the food. It is not expensive, the price is worth the food. Food is very nice and environment is chill and calm. Enjoyed the stay there. It's like a cafe too. Can sit there for hours to chat while order some food. Love this place.

Tasty meal with affordable price, but im surprised that the menu says set lunch comes with free flow drink and yet they didnt bother to refill it!!

They were 10 of us & all of us enjoyed our food! I love the honey oats chicken chop. Affordable considering the portion & food quality! Just one tiny feedback, the fries could have be a bit more seasoned. Was quite bland. Other than, we loved it!

Good quality meats - was such an enjoyable meal. We tried their mixed grill (lamb shoulder, ribeye, chicken) and it exceeded our expectations . The brown sauce was average and the chicken was a little small though . However the ribeye and lamb were cooked very well and to the right doneness . Pleasantly surprised by the quality and portion of lamb and ribeye .

the food was amaaaaazing, big portion, reasonable prices, very flavorful and very clean surroundings. Staff were not very active but service was still alright, the drinks were all great too! James Foo lives up to its name for being one of the classiest restaurants to still be operating today, good job!

We went to James Foo at a Saturday night, the restaurant is full of customers. Unfortunately after our ordered, the accidentally missed out my order. So the manager apologized and jump our order to front, afterwards they gave a free mushrooms soup for apologize. This is the customer service lacking in alot of Penang restaurants regardless of price. BTW, the food there was delicious, their grill fish, grill chicken, salad, and ox tail soup is fabulous and fantastic 😊.

Really love the place. The price for a meat platter (incl. a ribeye, a lamb chop and a german sausage) + a topping of choice (black pepper/smokey bbq) + a sidedish of choice (coleslaw/french fries) is about 45RM (!!!). The overall beef quality could be better, but for that price, c'mon! 😁 So the place is definitely your place of choice, if you have to get some meat and you want it fast (yeah, the service is really quick)

Visited this place with family. Exceptional service and outstanding food quality. The owner is a superlady down to earth and takes real pleasure in putting her guests at ease. Very well enjoyed our dinner at the James Foo restaurant

We went for a quick dinner as it was next to our Air Bnb. Food was ok, nothing to shout home about. Service was alright except for the older gentleman who clearly has worked there for a while but not that friendly towards customers.

The worse Western Food in Penang, the taste of the food is worse than those kopitiam prepare chicken chop. The price you pay definitely not worth the food they serve. if you think the western food serve at Goodall cafe is so so, than you definitely don't want to visit here as the food here is even worse. Used to be good now is completely different, sad to say is getting worse for the quality & portion of food they served. The meat they serve is cold, even the sos also cold, I don't know whether they still use 🔥/electric stove to cook food ! They do confuse me whether am I eating Sushi or chicken chop ?? Kinda feel like eating food take out halfway warm from oven. The only good thing I would say about this place is the service they provide and environment is comfortable. Mind those good reviews here as you can see a lot of MALAY reviewer say "NICE" BUT THIS IS NOT A HALA RESTAURANT; seriously doubt the owner fake/Pay the reviews and rating here. Saw a lot of food poisoning reviews here, unfortunately my daughter also having stomach ache after taking the food, dam regret didn't read the review here beforehand. Advice for owner, you really should hire new chief if you still thinking of running the business for long term.. I won't come back again and definitely NOT recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Western Food !

Order vegetarian pasta- tasteless with only capsicum smell. Mushrooms very little and I had to add tomatoes sauce just to finish the pasta. Mushrooms taste like chicken stock, very thick broth ,maybe too much starch powder. Overall environment is nice, just the food not so satisfying
