Great place to hike, stunning view. Located inside island glades near SMJK Chung Hwa. Not too difficult to hike for me (amateur hiker). After 20 to 30 min hike without resting, finally reached the top with 2 stunning view of Penang. Got outdoor badminton court with net for people to play badminton. Suprisingly not much wind so it is still playable. There is also a small resting area at the top for people to sit down and relax with their food and beverages.

Heavy construction in the lower sections but the trail is still usable. Maintenance has dropped recently but the path is still safe and relatively easy to navigate. Excellent viewpoints of multiple angles of Penang Island. Could do with a little more signage, but overall a relaxing meditative and short hiking trail with an outdoor badminton court and several rest stops along the way. Bring insect repellant. Plenty of shade so not to hot though.

Views of Greenlane and Air Itam at the peak. Interesting to note how a washing machine and fridge end up at the area. Fish head shaped rock mid way plus other things to look out for make for an enjoyable hike. Park at Island Park housing area.

Entrance to the trail from Island Park is just a few minutes away from my apartment. Have been hiking off and on to the this trail but months back have found out there were other trails as well. Some are bit tough for 1st timers but all in all it was fun. On a clear day, Georgetown, PG bridge or Prai are very visible...

There few paths leading to different hills. But for Bukit Hijau, when goes up and back have to be same road, else, you will end up to different location, which you might have to take grab back to where you parked or economy way, walk back ๐Ÿ˜‚. For the trail, quite slippery, have to be more careful on your own steps though there is available of rope at some challenging points. ๐Ÿ˜ Enjoyed the hiking, as end with mesmerising view and precious group photos with the gang.

Quite an easy hike, can reach the peak within 30 minutes and you will be rewarded with nice sceneries from ~3 viewing spots. Bukit Hijau (directly translated as Green Hill) is also known as Fish Head Hill as you will pass by a big rock that shaped like a fish head from certain angle. At the middle and peak, there are also a flat space where you can play badminton. During certain time of the day, there could be so dogs at the peak but they are *usually* not aggressive.

From my experience, this trail is tougher than other trail such as Moongate, Youth park No 3. The path is rather uneven with lots of tree roots. But is worth it when u reach station 19. There is a breathtaking panaromic view of Georgetown and Penang Bridge on one side and Kek Lok Si temple & Air Itam on the other side.

Great place for hiking. Need to watch out as there are many possible entrance. Accidentally got into a challenging trail. Got a plantation in the middle of the forest guarded by dogs. Need to be really careful of the track or risk of getting lost is high. Locals are friendly and helpful. Better to go along with a partner for first timer.

(Visited on 16th Sept) Do mind that the ladder trail has been demolished due to the recent development. However, you are able to reach the hill top by another trail. Waterfall is not able to enter now and council people are always patrolling around (itโ€™s a good initiative because not safety)

Isolated and quiet hiking trail with nice view on the top. Not a hard trail and you will be rewarded with a nice hammock when you reach the top. Friendly uncles amd aunties will greet you along the way making you feel secured as you wander along the trail.

Moderate hike, an hour up and down at a leisurely pace. Doable by yourself, best in the morning if a newbie. Look out for the clearest path to know you're on the right way..point 6 can be misleading heading down .. Follow the water sounds.

Easy trail for hiking, with nice view on top. Recently there is construction on the road there, thus the old hiking entrance is changed. May walk further abit into the road and you shall able to found the "Bukit Hijau" road sign for the new hiking entrance. The hiking trail is abit slippery after rain, take note and be careful.

It took us around an hour to get up there and 45 mins to came down from the bukit because I brought kid with me. You may bring your kid here but only depend on their health condition. Normally for adult, you can climb up there around 30mins. On the way up, you will see the fish pond and some small temples. Besides, you are advice to bring your hiking pole if you have it because the condition of the road might be a little bit difficult. For car parking, you may park at the Lorong behind of the resident house.

You can climb up bukit hijau via changkat tembaga or via farlim block 4A. The farlim route is tougher. It goes to station 18. Going through several vegetable farms. From up top you have a great view of Green Lane and the Penang bridge. Walking over to the other side, you can see farlim Town.

  • 3/5 Andrew K. 3 years ago on Google
A nice easy hike up to Bukit Hijau from Changkat Tembaga. There is also another way up from Farlim. This is a more difficult hike up. The views from the top is fantastic. You can see Green Lane/Island Park housing estate, as well as the Penang bridge. On the other side of the hill you can see Farlim Town.

There are toilets and badminton courts made of diy. Trail not bad, many aunts and uncles are climbing this green hill. (Original) Bukit Hijau terletak dikawasan perumahan. This hiking trail is not so famous as bukit jambul. When we start the journey, i dint find so much people around. The trail is not that hard. It got starcase and also tracking trail. There no toilet around. Once u arive at the top, the view is nice and windy. You can walk around at the top to find a few different view of penang. It also got waterfall at the base of the hill. It's around 30 min to hike up and 20 min to go down.
