Merlene Suites is located in Mansion One. The building management is very poor. The maintenance of lifts is deplorable. The building walls are very thin and people walking and talking in the corridors can be heard indoors. There is no swimming pool. The gym has very old equipment and is quite creepy. For the price, there are many other places nearby (walking distance) that are better options. Car parking is atrocious. The basement is constantly flooded. This building is connected to Vouk hotel which is a COVID hotel. There have been raids on the premises due to drug parties being held without management knowledge. Please do not come here if you want peace of mind.

I stayed here with my group of friends for a night. Their service is really good. I like their self check in policy where they update us all the information through WhatsApp. I was checking in late night, they were so helpful to ensure I check in. Really good service with clean units. The view from the unit at night is so beautiful. I was lucky to get partial city and seaview. My friends also like the stay.

Place is strategic and convenient. Apartment unit is well equipment with your basic household requirements. Bed pillows can be improve, kitchen utensils needs more than just blunt kitchen knife. WiFi definitely needs to be fix, was not properly working during this period of stay. Iron for clothes has burnt marks, and it is not a steam type iron appliance. Apart from those items mention, it is a fair place to stay.

We booked a suite on the 21st floor. There are 2 bed in the suite but one of the mattress somehow it's time to change as it is less support already. Those sleep on it will have backache or feel sore on the whole body the next day. The light in the washroom is so dim. In term of amenities, only bath towel, shower gel and toilet tissue are provided. Living in the 21 floor with lifts not functioning on the next day. It won't stop at some floors. The day we check out we have to go down 21 floor with luggage. The worst experience I ever had.

Best apartment with fair price & good facilities, next to Gleneagles Hospital. Got 2 bedroom unit with 4 beds, very convenient with kitchen, washing machine, drying racks, bath soap, wash dish soap, bath water heater, drinking water heater, electric hob, an iron & hair dryer. The best part is the magnificent view to the sea from the balcony. Reception is good & helpful. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back.

4 star because there's still something to improve on the self check in procedure. Eventhough they provide a number of videos. They didn't say that we have to collect the key from the lobby. And have to pay additional deposit of RM300 even after I have paid full for the stay. Deposit will be refunded after 3 days of checked out. It's kind of hassle for me. However the staff is very helpful, patient and friendly. Solved my problem one by one. Room is nice and cozy though. Enjoyed my stay there. Plus there's Starbucks next to it..convenient for quick breakfast, lunch and dinner. Recommended but not highly 👍👍

Easy to find. Strategic location and units are quite clean. Very convenient also as there is MyNews and Starbucks and a pharmacy. It depends on the host you get. The previous stay with Moses as host is good.

Absolutely loved my homestay experience! The accommodations were cozy and comfortable. The location was ideal, with easy access to local attractions and transportation. I truly enjoyed the warm hospitality and would highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable experience.

We are so exciting before a day we arrive because it was recommended by my fren from her wonderful experience, however it’s was totally different thought from us! The room was small and totally different from the picture shows, the furniture was old, and the room was dim and not suitable for business purposes. I believe that picture just for viewing purposes , but for me it was like getting cheated. Hereby attached the picture from my real view as reference.

I would like to give a good remarks especially Miss Claressa for arranging the room though I called her from Kuala Lumpur. She is very prompt in her reply and efficient in her work. Really satisfied with her job.

Staffs were very helpful and understanding to accommodate early check-in and parking for disable. Room (studio type) clealiness is acceptable and spacing for 4 guest. Balcony is very spacious and have a partial sea view. The only downside about this suite is the defective lifts. We need to wait very long for it to arrive and witnessed other guests got trapped in the lift for half an hour. Only 2 out of 4 lifts are functioning well with very slow speed.

Staffs are super friendly and helpful. But the lifts are horrible, I was trapped inside for more than 35 minutes with a few other people. The pillows need to be replaced, too.

Very basic apartment. No extra facilities such as gym and swimming pool. However, it's a very cosy and quiet unit. I had a great time staying here. There is a Starbucks and mynews convenience store downstairs. By the way, it's near to housing area which is incredible. My partner and I went for a walk and stumbled upon a few amazing shop for brunch. Check out the cathay coffee shop (all the food are worth trying! Amazing!) and a shop that sells super delicious duck meat (it's a few shop from the cathay coffee shop). Not to forget, try the flavorful Chinese pancake from an uncle at the road side! (opposite the duck stall shop).

I always stayed at Mansion One apartment everytime I came to Penang, booked via airbnb. I needed to extend my stay this time but unfortunately could not get any unit from airbnb. So I booked one via Merlene Suite. First thing first, host/ officer / admin was not responsive at all, not replying to queries via Whatsapp promptly. The only time for prompt reply was only during payment. Receptionist at the office / lobby was quite rude and not friendly too. Unit was not clean. Floor felt sticky, towels full of brown stain, bedsheets was smelly. Toilet cleanliness was suprisingly decent BUT (very suprising!!!) no soap and shampoo provided. I asked the receptionist / host via Whatsapp, no reply. I had to come down to lobby to ask for it. The reply was "we never provide soap and shampoo unless requested". LOL. What kind of service apartment did not provide soap and shampoo? Anyway, requested for soap and shampoo and a bottle of shampoo came after a long wait. Please note that I booked 2 bedrooms 2 bathroom units, but only given 1 bottle of shampoo. No energy left to come down and asked again so I rest this case. Wifi was not working. The password provided was wrong. Again, I asked via Whatsapp, no reply. I had to come down again to lobby to ask about it. The guy at the lobby immediately gave me a temporary router. I got the impression that they knew the wifi problem, prepared a temporary router, but too lazy to deliver it to my unit. I took it to my unit and realized that the temporary router was using europe plug and not compatible with the plugs in the unit. Another LOL. I had to use my one and only adapter for the wifi router. I could not charge my phone while using the wifi because there was only 1 adaptor and it was mine :D However, in the end I did not use the wifi because it was VERY SLOW. I had to use my mobile data for good and stable connection. So BEWARE. I recommend to book a unit from a responsible and responsive host with good ratings and reputation via airbnb if you choose to stay at Mansion One. Location was good though but this is irrelevant to the poor service from Merlene Suite.

Staffs not that friendly, need to improves on the staffs attitude, wifi is very sucks. Common guys wifi is a must these days for traveler's, and wifi is so cheap these days, why you guys could not a good wifi? I am sure there are so many internet providers in Penang and they are good as i know. Location is very good , room is quite clean, but not enough blanket for the beds

Stayed for three nights. Overall were ok except for one or two flaws. Kitchen are well equipped except for one or two items missing. Service was great and efficient. On the other side, there's only one bathroom to be shared by many. No rail to hang washed clothes. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay while away from home.

Rented tis place for 2 nights stay while on working trip. Conveniently located in the Gurney area. Short driving distance to major attractions n eateries. The only shortfall was the parking area which is narrow and rundown. Overall a good place for short stays.

A nice place to stay overnight. It is located near the famous Gurney Drive and Padang Kota. Besides, the hotel has a Starbucks outlet and a convenience store at the Ground Level. Therefore,I would really recommend others to stay at this place.

This is a service apartment, studio room is pretty big, enough for 4 persons. Location is good. In terms of service, can observe that staff are trying their best, but do note that this is not a hotel. As for car park, one of the worst car park design. Suppose the designer never drive.

Very poor hygiene! The bedsheets are stained and dirty. The receptionist and security are not familiar with their own property details The car park planning is shocking - ramp and driveway are so narrow that you can hardly squeeze through.

Fast response from property owner. Easy arrangement to get the key SG well informed on this operation. Location good, nearby to favourite spots ie Gurney Drive, Esplanade, etc Cleanliness, ok, a little slump look at corridor and walkway but overall ok. Interior apartment and rooms clean. Parking a little challenging for big vehicle ie B segment SUV, MPV or 4x4 but still manageable. Starbuck at GF is good idea for hang out when stay here. A little set back, no compliment drinks ie tea or coffee sachet provided. Could consider to add in. As an overall worth the price.

The unit was very smelly. The floors slippery n didnt clean well. The blanket n bedsheet dirty n itchy. The mgmt shd investigate tis on low hygeine. It was a total nightmare.

Merlene had given us room that had a partial view of the sea and full view of Georgetown. Pretty good of them. Room was fresh and clean. Amenities such as fridge, aircond and washing machine are in working order. Yes, parking space was available but care be given when maneuvering from within, due to building design. My car is free from scratches, a little patience helps.

No daily cleaning service, bed condition very old. Be aware check out time, late maks 1 hour after 12:00 they will charge MYR 50. Late check out after 13:00 they charge 100% room rate directly from your deposit.

Really satisfied with the services and room. Helpful and good guide receptionists . Updating their SOP via WhatsApp from time to time. Sure will return here for our next Penang trip.

I had a comfortable stay at Mansion One for a bit over a week. Location: Excellent. Within 10mins drive to Pulau Tikus (for breakfast at the wet market), Gurney Plaza (large shopping mall), and the beach. Right next to GlenEagles Hospital so bonus points for those going there for treatment/check-up. 5-10mins drive to Island Hospital. Starbucks is just next to the lobby, so on a couple of occassions when I needed coffee I just came downstairs. Not a fan of Starbucks coffee, but oh well, better than nothing haha. 24/7 convenient store downstairs too. Plus another smaller shop selling snacks, instant noodles, etc. Very convenient! Room: We were in a studio apartment and it's a very good size room with 2 queen beds. Wifi was great and kitchen is well equipped. I wish the bathroom was better maintained. Feels 'dirty' as there's unpleasant smell from the dampness. Corners of showers are a bit mouldy (hence the smell). Note: I was stuck in one of the lifts for 35mins with 7 other people. It took the technician that long to come and get us out. Not happy! One girl was claustrophobic and crying!

Bed linen are very worn with many holes.. lifts are too small , always congested. Provide only 1 toilet roll for our 3 nights stay Toilet has a dripping noise from upstairs

Please choose this place if your are looking for a stay with most comfort and clean environment.. i would give 10/10. Located in the centre of everything if you are here for staycation.. Stayed here with my 5 months baby and 5 years kid.. simply superb... Salute to the management...!!!!!

A great stay with family. We stayed on the 23A floor and the view at night was remarkable. We had a good time here except for the lift. We had to use the stairs at the lift went out of order on the day we checked out. Overall we love the place.

The lift sucks. got 4 but only 2 lift can be used. management really need some improvement. my friends and I need to go down using stairs to carpark from level 30 until level 12. bringing along my luggage. used to wait around 2 hours just for the lift and then give up.

The owner Mr Kent was very helpful.The rooms were immaculate.Easy to access thru AIRBNB. Location just perfect .

0 star...totally 0 star. Please make sure your fire alarm and lift always in good condition and tell us which door is the emergency door!! Omg....the fire alarm make us run from 30th to ground floor twice...yes...total 60 floor ...I even get foot sprain.. at the ground floor ...all the door also lock...can you guys imagine how scared am I....no ..no one can imagine that situation...management even worst...take all the safety key go back home...I can't even imagine what would happen if something happen. Please ....yes...I am talking to you the black shirt black long pants management lady...dont take all the key...please...please think about the safety problem.. please understand that prevention is better than cure and please be polite!!!

First of all, the Chinese lady staff at the reception was so rude and don't even bother to check the booking number! The room booking clearly stated at Mansion One Suites, but according to that rude lady, the booking was not at Mansion One Suites, super weird and didn't allow us to go in to the counter too. Super weird, same address, same name building and suites, everything and she even shouted to me. I've never experienced with such a rude customer service.

Very Rude Morning Shift Security Guard, Not Recommended To Stay at this property,

Had an order at Star Bucks went there to get order to be delivered to customer at Hospital. Ask the guard nicely who is outside of the parking lot whether I can park my car and replied back rudely. After coming out on my way to my car guard still complaining about something which I can't hear cause of the distant but I just ignore. Had come across many guards in apartment and condos but never come across one that is rude as this one

Convenient studio suite for patient or relative at nearby hospital, but the route to lobby and car park is a bit confusing, its not accessible through parking in front vouk hotel, need made a round behind which don,t have any clear sign

Location is alright, suitable for small family. Housekeeping could be improved though as floor was not completly clean when we checked in. Some of the cups and plates in the pantry were broken. WiFi was not functioning too. Do note that units do not come with towels and toiletries. Nevertheless, it's a comfortable place for small group holiday makers.

Front Office Staff a mr.Bernard was very unprofessional. Did not honour room booked and paid, lied that he was unable to provide the correct suite that was booked due to fully booked situation gave a run down old dirty room instead. But when we made our point and refuse to accede, he gave in and gave us back the correct room. He was also impolite when we enquired why NO WIFI, he replied whole building does NOT have WIFI! But, the website says has(?) This is a TERRIBLE place to stay! 1st and LAST time for my family! I hope the management look into your staff specifically this man you hired to serve your guests!

Nearby Gleanegals Hospital just a walking distance . Spacious even for studio apartment. Good Price after MCO maybe due to lower demand. Good Security and in building parking spaces.

Beware of scam from this apartment bcs Ive got scammed last time! Make sure your agent is there during check in bcs there is no lobby here. They claim they got biggest pool but still closed and will reopen this december.

Loved it. I was new to Penang with my family. Really needed a big unit with kitchen utensils, washine machine and others. It had all of those things I needed in the unit. It was more of convenient and spacious unit for family vacation. I would really recommend for family stay. The staff manage to full fill all my requirements as I had elderly people. Thank you and great stay.

It was an awesome stay at Merlene Suite. If anyone was looking for a strategic location, Mansion One is great. There are many food court nearby the apartment and malls as well. Even the sea is si close to this place. I really love my stay here.

Love this stay. Room was spacious with seaview window. Location was good. Parking space provided only not in the building. Staff was helpful but not so friendly. The downside was the pool is under maintenance, but seems the pool is quite small for entire size of the building. Worth trying.

I stayed 3 days and 2 nights at this Merleme Suite at Mansion One. This Airbnb has its own reception withe helpful staff and attentive to their guest. I stayed in a unit with great view and excellent interior. It's good for big groups of people as fits about 6-10 people. It was also a good location near to gurney drive, komtar and little indian. Overall great place stay

the room advertised on the website does not matched the room offered. housekeeping services closed early for we were lacking in blankets and only one staff mend the reception after office hours. He was too busy to attend to guest requirements.

Don't stay here. They clam your car for parking at the correct spot. TV no signal most of the time,hv to reset every time you on it. Management & receptionist not helpful. Only 1young Chinese lady very helpful.

Location was great, walking distance to foodcourts and Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon. Nice seaview too. Clean 2 rooms apartment with kitchenette and washing machine. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed overall on the room. Pictures from website are so much different than actual. Lack of maintenance in room. Bad housekeeping. Lighting in room and especially toilet are so low & dim. Parking are horrendous, not suitable bigger car types as the corner & lane gaps are so narrow, not all using MyVi right? Lacking direction Signage. 2 of 4 lifts not working. I will not back for this booking if coming to Penang in near future.
