Expected many people to flock this beautifully located hotel with its own beach during school holidays then you will be less stressed. What's more, the hotel itself is big and able to occupy such many guests. The room is comfy and quite spacious. The cafe is large though you might see just a glimpse of its section from the front and it offers varieties of food from western food to basic breakfast for you to choose. The entertainment area is not too big (the pools for kids are not that big) yet you will feel safe especially with the life guards everywhere monitoring the safety of the guests. The beach is beautiful too and you can see tons of beach activities to enjoy. Do mind yourself that the parking is quite far and do expect some traffic when the guests arriving at the lobby.

Check-in took some time as the resort was busy, but the staff made us feel at ease. The service here is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The resort even prepared some snacks and welcome drinks for us while we wait for our room. The facility is nice. The pool area is huge with lots of activities, though it does seem like it’s mostly for kids. I didn’t use the pool at all as there’s always a lot of people there. There’s plenty of lounge chairs placed around the pool, some of them facing the beach, which is nice. The beach that the resort is connected to is nice with lots of activities, but there’s not a lot of space to sit and enjoy, which is a bummer. Breakfast at the hotel is standard hotel breakfast: nice enough, but not great. The resort is located right next to the Batu Ferringhi night market. Lots of shopping, food, etc, but the food in the area is quite expensive. There’s a bus stop right in front of the resort, so getting to George Town is quite easy. The buses are quite frequent and it takes about a half hour to get to town center. There’s no need to drive yourself to town. The room is nicely decorated, but it looks old and dated. Some of the furniture are damaged. There was a big blood stain on the bed sheet when we arrived, which was disturbing. The bathroom is quite small, but adequate. There’s a nice, big mini-fridge. The coffee and tea options are nice. We didn’t get any robes, so that was disappointing. Overall, I had a very nice time at the Golden Sands Resort. It’s a very nice resort that’s due for a major refurbishment.

I've stayed here many times since young and even till now that I have my own family. The service is excellent from the moment you check in untill the day you leave. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive. Buffet breakfast is always good and they open till 11am! Pool is the highlight of my stay and the beach is clean and safe to swim. The popular night market and Hard Rock is walking distance. They are many choice of eateries outside the hotel.

Stayed at the seaview rooms. The view was majestic. Tried the night buffet too, it was definitely worth it. The buffet breakfast was very good too, you barely need to wait for your food, so don't worry. Just make sure you're there early. If you're ordering the room service, try their traditional chicken chop. I love it. Really enjoyed the pool too, especially the overflowing bucket that my kids (read: me) loved to play at. The only flaw of the resort is the beach; it reeks of petrol because of the boats and the jet skis. I advise you to just stick to the pools instead. Other than that, love it! Would definitely visit this resort again next time I'm coming to Penang.

The hotel was booked for us through a travel agent and we were disappointed to see that it was more of a young family resort, which catered a lot of its facilities to young children. We are a couple in our early 30's so not exactly what we were looking for. We were definitely in the minority and the resort was mainly filled with young families and kids. The food is OK to average, and the prices were standard hotel prices with booze being very expensive. I felt there isn't lots to do at the resort, and the pool is filled with kids and families (which is fine but again not what we were looking for). The breakfast buffet had lots of variety and couldn't really complain bar the mess and food everywhere on the floor but mainly from kids. The room would of been more comfortable if bigger, and there is no where to eat if you do order room service and its a bit run down. Its probably a good hotel to stay at if you have a young family but if you don't I really wouldn't recommend it. It's very much kid orientated. The gym was good and the staff were friendly.

Have a stay on 17/7/2023. Checking on 3.30pm night mare room 618 and another room 628 are same. The hotel are 5 star the rooms worst than the motel, I door frame are all rotten toilet silicone all black mold bathtub yellowish, bed frame paint sticky. All the switches are painted and old school. Smelly storage. Seriously so sad to see this happening. 5 star luxury hotel well known international. And we checked out the same day 8pm. Guys think twice before booked

Amazing hotel: a. Well maintained yard and pool area. b. Sea view rooms are fantastic. c. Food is very good (except for 1/2 items). d. Staffs are friendly (specially Bengali staffs are very well behaved). e. First floor rooms are probably not that great, we stayed in one for a night. f. Advise to settle room charges the prior night before departure to reconcile. g. Cars provided by the hotel for airport transfer are top notch. h. Great location, private beach, near local shop areas and the city and many more.

The location of this hotel is near to night market and shops. If you are hungry, worry not because there are plenty of restaurants and stalls nearby where the foods are tasty with affordable price! Then the staffs are all friendly. The foods served for breakfast are mouth-watering and they have variety of foods ranging from traditional to western as well as oriental. They also serve fresh juice

This hotel is curved so 50% of the rooms have a seat view and 50% look over the road, town and hills. There is an extensive range of swimming pools ranging from children's paddling pools to an adult only pool. There's a water slide and splash zone. Definitely a great hotel for kids. The pools operate between specific times and there's life guards and other staff who arrange water volleyball. A large number of loungers and seating is present all served by food and beverage options. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and happy to help. To the front is a sandy public beach with various water sports available (but the hotel have their own as well). Plenty of car parking and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel (George Town was about 2.75 MYR one way. Have the correct fare as you don't get change).

A really lovely stay with my family for the weekend. Check in was smooth and easy - we had to wait a little bit for one of the rooms to be ready but it wasn't an issue for us. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. We loved the pool area and splash pad for our young children. The beach was ok - a bit small and cramped but that's nothing you can really change! The beds were super comfy and our rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms felt a little bit tired and dated and we had some issues with water escaping from the shower. Food at breakfast was great - brilliant selection and service was wonderful - especially from Jalita who was so kind and friendly!

Check in process was very smooth eventhough had to wait a little bit. Guests were served with lemonade while waiting to check in. Extra bed without extra charge in deluxe room for my daughter. Delicious breakfast. Great location. Easy to find restaurant. Mcd opposite hotel. Splash zone rather small, should expand as family oriented hotel. Staffs services were excellent. Wonderful experience for our family.

We booked this hotel for long holiday after MCO. We were so excited to see the swimming pools and water splash zone kids area and whirlpool. We really want our only daughter enjoy the holiday. However it took very long queue to register even we have membership in the Shangri-La group. The duty manager (Indian guy) who welcome us has threatened us that they will charge double the rate, and will reversed it back after our check out if everything OK. The manager and staff at check in counter was very rude. After registration we immediately went to swimming pool for kids. It was totally a big disappointment for us. The swimming pool area and splash zone and slide zone was very small and only limited area available for kids. Most of the swimming pool area was 3m meter deep. Most of the adults too not allowed because too deep. Don't understand why they built such a deep pool where most of the time it was closed. Secondly 2 days before check in we have emailed to the management to request for just a extra blanket. The management also revert my email that they noted on the request. However, nothing is prepared. We called the room service but told us to wait. Waited for hours but nobody turned up. We called again and again no one turned up. There is Chinese guy (bakery and pastry chef) who passes us racist comments on us. This is very upsetting us. We go through this for 4 days breakfast at hotel. It is a totally disappointing. Rude staffs, four star hotel but the services was up to 1 star hotel.

I gotta say the management could have made checking in much better. I understand the crowd but damn 2 hours wait for checking in? 1 hour queue just to be told no rooms available at the moment. We went to eat first after we were told no room available. Pros was breakfast food are great. Staff very polite. Rooms are considered good even when under heavy bookings. Keep up the good work. I suggested your hotel to friends even with the cons i just had experienced. I know you guys could do better.

Not a memorable stay. The moment we arrive, checking in was taking too long. The bell boy ask for tips. Never before that we've been asked for tips. Usually we gave it willingly. But this hotel staff did ask for it. The staff is not very helpful. Some even so rude. We accidentally left our hard disk and ask them to look for it. I am 100% sure it's there behind the TV. As we were celebrating our anniversary. I plug it in the TV to watch a slideshow of our wedding photos. It took 2 days to get a response. The result is that, they didn't find it. It's either the next guess or the house keeping staff who took it. But, I am sure that it's their house keeping staff who took it. Been to tons of hotels. Countless times we accidentally left stuff in our rooms. But they always get it back for us. But not this hotel. This hotel don't deserve a 5 star rating hotel. Up to their manager also is useless. It's a 5 star hotel with a 2 star staff.

Overall experience was good except for the delay during check in. My son arrived at hotel around 11 am & submitted details for registration as per requested. Actual check in time stated as 3.00 pm (some hotels allow to check in at 12 pm even though the policy stated 3 pm) but we waited from 11 am until 5 pm (after complained many times). Upon request.... The hotel compensate us with dinner/breakfast worth of RM50 per room. I like the setting by the hotel during the breakfast time which there are many food section served by special chef for each food prepared which never experienced this at other hotel before.

This is a very good hotel, with good location and fair beach. Several improvement needed especially during check in where huge crowd observed. I believe it simply because Shangri La policy during check in that cause massive crowded at the lobby. Some of staff especially at the restaurant is less friendly compared to my previous visit to Golden Sands. My room (166) is super spacious and I'm really happy with it. Worth every cents.

Was comparing between this and Hard Rock and chose this despite reading the not so great reviews about their subpar service room cleanliness and potential noise from the nearby mosque due to: 1. Adventure Zone indoor playground 2. Reviews about it being near to night market, street food and amenities 3. Good breakfast spread 4. Nicer beach front Was relieved we were not affected by any prayer noises from the mosque, we booked an executive sea view room. The night market was very dull though, almost non existent. According to a local, the night market has quietened down after Covid. It did have a decent breakfast spread, but the roti prata and waffles tasted like cardboard… It does have a decent beach and it was quite clean when we were there, with nice sunset views but the water at Penang beach is the murky, not clear sort. It helped to have others warning us about small pools, room cleanliness and subpar service, because it’s all true. The pools were small and dirty. The rooms were not well maintained… it was dusty, bedsheets and couch had stains… a few ants crawling around… We’d requested for an extra bed before arrival but had to call again to have the extra bed unlocked and pulled down. They didn’t communicate to us that housekeeping would only get it done after 7pm, until we asked. There was a lot of dust flying around after the housekeeping put the bedsheet over the extra bed. The toilet bowl even got clogged and we had to call several times (waited for 4 hours) to get it fixed. Thereafter, we had to call housekeeping again to get it cleaned. Sad, because you’d really expect more from a brand like Shangri La. Lastly, it took us awhile (around 15min) to book a grab to airport at noon on a Friday (supposedly peak hour), and another close to 1.5hr to get to the airport. So do buffer that kind of timing for your flight. PS. If you’re looking for good food around the hotel, check out Andrew’s Kampung and Restaurant Ferringhi Garden.

Me and my sister took some time to consider this hotel but once we reached there, we didn't regret out decision! The ambience was great. So peaceful and calm. Loved the variety of breakfast. The rooms were great. Except that there were bird poos on the balcony railings however the view took our breath awayyy! The boat services available there was convenient for my family. Walking distance location to the nearby restaurants. Restaurant Power Up near Golden Sands is a must visit! The food was amazing!! Reasonable prices for great food. Overall superb experience. Would Definitely visit again

Beautiful hotel with friendly staffs. Delicious and variety breakfast. Big pool size (prepare to bring swimwear). Hotel room is big for rooms facing road. Got super king bed & sofa bed. Can accommodate 2 adults with 3 kids below 7 years old. Only car park is a bit far from hotel lobby (car park 3). Got buggy to car park. But please expect long waiting time.

It’s about a one hour taxi ride from airport, but is a lovely family resort. Using Grab was a cheap way of getting to places from resort. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Dining in, competitively priced. Rooms clean, serviced daily, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We would be happy to return there any day, grandchildren also loved it.

I booked through the hotel website. The exec staff tried their best for my request. They emailed me twice and even made a phone call. I am glad they managed to fulfill my request on connecting room and placed all 3 rooms on the same floor. The check in flow was smooth and I was offered to check out at 1pm. If you want to enjoy the sea view then book for the deluxe room. The view was spectacular. The room deco was outdated a bit. The buffet breakfast was okay. Kids enjoyed swimming and playing at the adventure zone. All staff were nice and helpful. However the parking lot was limited. If lucky then you may got spot near with the lobby. 😅

We made a booking for a week before leaving Penang after having lived there for 5 years since our household stuff was shipped out. The booking was made a few weeks in advance. This was during the FMCO. 3 days before they cancelled our booking and said we couldn't stay there. No good explanation was given. Just afraid of something. It was no problem to make a booking at another place since we could show that were leaving the country. Very, very poor impression.

My first visit after the MCO. PROS: - The family combo room was awesome. Kids loved it so much and don't mind spending more time in the room. - Cleanliness was top notch CONS: - The check in time was really too long. I would appreciate if I have done the online booking, more details could have been taken prior. - I was very concerned with the reception desk taking photo of the vaccination certificate with her phone. These are unnecessary trails where data leakages happen. I insisted not to but was told there are no way for me to check in if I don't allow this - Breakfast line was very long, I literally had to queue up passing through every station just to get to the station that I wanted which is at the end of the line. Overall, I was a bit taken aback if this is the experience Shangri-la offers. The data privacy is a big concern which I'm gonna take this up with MCMC. Hopefully they keep fine tune their SOP to cater for the new norm

Been staying here for nearly a week and it has been a lovely stay so far. The location of the hotel has a beautiful view when looking out towards the sea, the food was great from a buffet style of food during both dinner and breakfast. However, if you are like me, wanting to eat lite then you can choose to order from the menu instead too. The service was great with very friendly and helpful staff members especially Wind providing assistance during our stay so far. The room is very spacious with plenty of room to move around and if that isn't enough a sea park for the kids to play or a long walk along the beach with plenty of sun depending on the season you come at. I would definitely come here again as the location is close to Gurney too, roughly 30 minutes by taxi, if you wish to go shopping or you can go to the local shops across the street as they have a wide variety of food selection too if you wish to try.

Beautiful resort on the beach. Pool areas are gorgeous. Caters well for young children. Room with garden view was nicely fitted out and had everything we needed. Shower in the bath tub was a bit tricky to get in and out of. Great buffet.

The breakfast buffet was superb. Always refill and got variety of food to choose from. The beach and the hotel is near. Got many activities too. There are 4 type of pool if im not mistaken. But the pool for kids and 1.2m depth for me needs more maintenance. A bit dirty. And be careful when hit the beach. There are jelly fish. My kids got stung by the jelly fish 🥲

Those who wish to spend time in the pool especially for children, this is a perfect place to spend your holiday. The guards and workers work tirelessly to make sure the surroundings are safe and secure. The clean environment, cheerful and welcoming atmosphere makes the trip a great one and of course the sumptuous breakfast.

Stayed in the balcony room with the pool and sea view. Excellent service. The on-site massages were very good too. The location is near enough local shops and food places too. You don’t need to eat every meal inside. If I could change anything it’s the pool. The pool is not as big as it looks in pictures. But overall very good experience

Pool view room is very nice. Big pool. Kids love the Splash Zone. A bit surprised with Adventure Zone have to pay because last time we stayed in 2016, it was free of charge. Was amazed with breakfast menu serving dim sum which is our favourites. Staffs were very friendly and i can say the most friendliest among all five star hotels. And most importantly, having a charging session for my plugged in electric vehicle is a must & hotel staff provided the extension cable, thank you!

This hotel is truly amazing. With its various deep swimming pools and spacious rooms, complete with balconies, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. The water pool slides are a great way to add some excitement to your day. The gym is well-equipped too, but I highly suggest to jog at the beach to be able enjoy the breeze. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a fantastic stay.

Great location, wonderful for kids, they lived the slides and the pool was spacious. Beach was nice although not many people in the water. Service was good however I have had much better especially as I had to request birthday. Ake for my daughter numerous times before it arrived.

I would give 4.5 star if available, Anyway came on night before CNY and checked in late (9pm) due to traffic. Check in was smooth and explained well by the staff. Took one family combo room and one superior King. My kids was loving their room which came with a tent. Other stuff was fine. Second nice thing was the pool. Great pool for kids and very large area. Love the fact that its connecting to the beach as well. Breakfast were nice too with a lot of verities.

This is second time I stayed in this shangri-La Golden sand hotel in Penang, and have been a good experience until today 17/6/23. Around 11:00am when I’m in the lift, the hotel guest next to me seems to taking my photo as his mobile phone camera is facing me and the flashing light is flashing. I was shocked and did not confronted him then. I went to the counter after the event to talked to the staff in regards to this incidents. Staff took down the information and I have mentioned about the hotel security camera which will show the incidents. The staff said the manager will contact me on my mobile. I waited until 6:30pm no one contacted me and I have then asked the same staff, he explained due to the busy day the manage unable to investigate. As I’m checking out tomorrow I wants the matter to be solved today. The staff then mentioned the manager will definitely give me a call today. Now is 10:11pm, I have not received any call and I don’t believe a manager will work for more than 12 hours per day. This is irresponsible and unacceptable by not putting the guest privacy and safety first. So be aware if you are staying in this hotel, you will NOT get any assistance from the hotel if you have any issue which is similar to my case.

Check in process was very long, and the staff was not friendly and quite rude. The bathroom smells awful, bathtub water stopper was spoiled but the staff refuse to replace, he said it cant be replace. we couldn't use the bathtub at all! The 2 bean bags in kids room was too weared off and doesnt served the purpose as chair anymore. Regarding room view, i got a room facing rubish center which was quite awful for family with kids. Lastly, the splash area which supposed to be our kid's highlight was on maintenance during our stay, we didnt get any notification about this prior to our stay. Also, the pool towel smells bad and it looks too old. overall my family is very disappointed with the experience staying in shangrila golden sands.

Love the hotel ambience. Booked two interconnecting room. 1 for the parents and 1 room for the kids with a bed in a hut and a tent. Also, we asked for a complimentary anniversary cake amd we got a cake, 2 packet of milk and a tortoise plushie. Awesome gifts from them! Their swimming pool is big. Have slides to play but need yur kids below 1.2m to swim once they have slided down. If yur kids dont know how to swim, either parent's have to assist them during the slides. And u have access to the beach too! And activities like parasailing, bumboat riding and many more. You must try! But not free yeah. Haha! Recommended to try this hotel. I would like to come to this hotel again for my next holiday in penang.

I would give it a 4 stars rating hadn't it being because of rude staff at the check out counter. Not friendly to local Malaysian guests especially Malay. Only put a nice smiles and courteous to foreigners as if our local Malaysian are not paying enough to stay there. The room is big though, but the location is too far away from foody places especially if you come to Penang for food. Not looking forward for another stay.

Rooms are rather small for the price paid (RM600+) Took deluxe king room with seaview. Cant imagine staying in other smaller rooms. Literally just a straight walkway for us to walk and the room door everything is just very very small and very squeeze. Toilet had 2 basins but quite small too (requested for no bathtub) Balconies are very very close to each other(you can climb next door easily) 😅 Very dangerous so please keep your glass door locked at all times. There are 2 slides and a few swimming pools. Nothing much. Check in service was very2 slow, but checkout was fast. Plus point is the view, location, and it is connected to the beach. Love the view at night especially and to hear the sea waves 🌊 is just very relaxing! It has food courts and restaurants right outside (walking distance) and a mini night market for you to kill time.

Excellent service, staff have great attitude and very polite. Rooms are spacious and clean. Everything works, except the tiles in the bathroom needs a bit of a scrub in some places. Kid friendly hotel for sure, but the Kiddy pool is rather small during peak periods and can get overcrowded. Breakfast buffet has a good spread and tastes great, but can also get overcrowded during peak holiday periods. Huge dining space, but still can be quite packed when occupancy rate is high. Location wise.. it's about 1 hour drive from the Penang International Airport. It's not that far, but the traffic in the island is terrible. Once you're at the hotel, there are shops just across the street for just about everything you need. The beach is rather disappointing. If beach is your primary reason for a vacation stay, I would not recommend this hotel.

Loved everything about Golden Sands. Lovely friendly people, excellent service. My second time coming here and loved everything and every minute. Buffet is abundant in all kinds of foods , breads, cakes , drinks and coffee. Would come back in a heartbeat. Taxi service at your door lots of attractions to see and do. Very friendly people wherever you go. Pool area very safe for children as lifeguard are everywhere.

Here for 3 days 2 nights, requested for an extra bed. The bed is super single? Great size paid around rm 180. My room has 2 super single beds . Pretty nice bed sizes for 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast spread is amazing a lot of selections. Really love the teh tarik. Breakfast place is open air. It was really breezy during the day. Staffs are all friendly and super efficient I think they deserve a raise/bonus. Water play is great for kids

I could say, so far this was one of the best 4 Stars rate Hotel that I've been staying for vacation. The services provided here was top notch and great ! All staff here were very friendly and helpful. Plus, they were so attentive and informative. Even though the location of this hotel is quite far from town/famous attraction, but this is the best location for a great stay ! This area also have new complex nearby called Feringghi Walk which have Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Family Mart, Zuss coffee. Even got Starbucks and McDonald as well. Also near to Hard Rock Cafe and got night market as well. Overall, I really enjoy spending time here. Thank you.

Due to large number of guests they have now, it seems they have neglect / lose their great customer services before, the friendliness, the care and understanding. Missing those nowadays. Hope they bring back their value which make them great all these years, which make many customers loyal to this hotel whenever they come to Penang. They lose their authenticity.

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights and we did enjoyed ourselves here with all the things that this hotel had provided to us. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. the check in was very quick. there are guards looking after the surrounding areas and pools as well. The room is very comfortable and clean. The food also delicious and many varities available. there is a surau very close to the hotel. Also there are many eateries such as KFC, Secret Recipe etc. just within the walking distance from the hotel as well. It's highly recommended to stay here for your holiday in Penang

Lovely Hotel overlooking the beach and swimming pool. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room service staff are so accomodating with my requests - fantastic job. I had an Executive Suite, which came with spacious balcony. Room was very comfortable with nice view. Hotel premises are very nice, with great pool area and private beach. Splash zone and adventure zone are the main attraction for kids. They loves it so much! Great place for kids to chill out. Good quality food and good staff/waiters.

Lovely place for a vacation with family. Kids will definitely love this place. The pools are clean and the depth is suitable for all ages. Weekends are quite packed, but it's big enough to cover the crowd. Breakfast is worth it. Good variety of delicious food. Beach side faces the hotel and the scenary is a beautiful. A perfect place to stay with family and kids.

Have good 4 days 3 nights stay here. Room not that spacious but OK. Pools are big and with splash pool make it great. Unfortunately now is covid time..so limited time to be in pool. Last day stay pool is super crowded due a lot of quest checked in here (was wonder what deal they have for 3 Apr). Breakfast just average - nothing great. Staff are super friendly and professional. Ample parking available with buggy service if u need to park at car park 2 and 3.

hard to get an elevator at the morning if you stay at the middle floor due to elevator always go upper and ground floor, when it reached to the middle floor it already in full capacity. no options you had to get a stairs, but believe me it will suprise you when you open the exit door at the ground floor because it will bring you to the random exit, ie you will find yourself appear at the parking area and at the kitchen back door, and you had to walk to go the lobby and breakfast lounge.. i would like to ask if hotel provide a valet parking? because the day i arrived, i asked the security about it because i would like to rent it for a 4d3n for me to stay there, but the guy said hotel did not provide it.. next couple of days i saw some of 'big car' already parked besides the lobby drop off with a cone in front of the car and it seems like a valet parking.. i am so confused, thumbs up for the housekeeping team 👍

We check in today 16/10/2021 at 3 pm , we are disappointed with the amenities that is provided by an established hotelier. Firstly the WC is leaking water into the toilet floor . I was lock in the toilet as the door couldn’t open ( the door drop to the timber frame causing it to be stuck) , my family was out and I did not have my mobile phone with me! I pounded the door but no one can hear or rescue me from the toilet! The stress that I had to endure . My family return an hour later to rescue me. Never had such experience ever anywhere in the world! Called the house keeping to repair what’s needed , took them almost 45 mins to come up to the room after 2 calls. We left him to repair it ard 6 pm. Came back at 9.45 after dinner - door is fixed great , found the WC is still leaking. Was looking forward to a nice hot shower , turn on the hand shower - got a shock when all the sudden found hot water spraying all over the place ( as the hose was torn ) this cause me to take a few steps back , slipped and twisted my wrist!!! Frustrating! We were promised to be given an extra bed at no charge by the receptionist, we were happy with the service but till 10 pm no bed to be seen. We called and they replied will sent to us , it is 10.24 - no bed is delivered. The housekeeping turn up at 10.24 - to repair the hose. We are tired and need sleep …… Dear GM, Please do improved on your amenities and the golden promise of the service that you have had provided! We would not recommend your hotel to any of our friends ! Room 763- Golden Sands

we got our rooms at 5:30pm due to covid19 registration forms and due to a long line. we were hungry, tired and needed to use the restroom. the line was on chairs and quite illogically was zigzag, made me dizzy, could have been snake like to make it easier. it just shows they didn't put any thought into this. I think a few things could be done to make it easy: Access to Toilets, Water, they could've done the checkin previously or via email/online. how long does it take to verify a vaccination certificate anyway.

Checked in on 17 Oct 2021. Check in @2pm.check in counter said to us to wait for awhile for a call because the room wasn't ready yet. I waited 5 hours no one called. Approached the key collection counter few times but the answer was to wait for a call. Not worth it at all. Request for a bathtub room also not unable to give. First and last for this hotel.

prior booking, was informed tat breakfast will be served as ala cart. After checked in, breakfast is by buffet and SOP was not strictly applied when lined up. Pool is way too crowded with ppl without mask on at surrounding. Run out of basic amenities in room, toilet is smelly. Generally staffs r friendly.. good for family with kids. Not recommend for ppl who wan a quiet staycation n concerned about covid safety. Personally i would not stay here again.

too crowded the hotel facilities especially the swimming pool, hotel management not strict on SOP ... Hotel room not clean, service is slow, bathroom drainage is blocked, water going super slow, flooded!! omg , the first time i been here n wil be the last time i visit , 4.0 star hotel not 4.0 star hotel , i think this building is too old .... due to this pandemic, i can see your guest r refilling their own water bottle during the breakfast hour in garden cafe

They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 1pm. So this was a big plus. Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help!(shout out to Jualita who made our bfast service a top notch!) would definitely come back again! 🌴🤍

Booked this hotel for my anniversary, and such a disappointment. It started with slow check in process, once we got a room, there are no towels in the room and water bottle seal was already broken. We requested for bath tub and was told that if we want to change to a room with bathtub we can request later. Unfortunately the room we initially got has a strong pee smell in the shower area (same smell like in public toilet). So we requested to change at the reception. The receptionist make a big fuss, saying we cannot change now. After arguing with the receptionist and they argued in front of me, the guy finally gave me a room with bathtub. The 2nd room we got was quite dirty, there were sand on the floor and on the locker. Not to mention the shower pressure is slow possibly due to the leaking hose.

This hotel is super packed during my visit. To the extend, you have trouble getting a parking eventhough you're a hotel guest. Pools are packed and the hotel did not do a good job in controlling the crowd in the pool area. Big disappointment. If you're thinking to book here so that your family could enjoy the pool facilities, think twice. Despite that, the hotel crews are very friendly which deserve praised. The rest of it, in terms of the room condition and comfort, it's as expected with what you've paid for. 3 lifts are available, but it is such a long wait. Check in was horrendous. Made to wait more than 45 minutes just to get our room. Am I going to return? Not for now.

Late check in. Waited for 2 hours to get the room ready. Many guests were stranded at the lobby waiting to check in. They can't guarantee how long it takes for the room to be ready. Breakfast was smooth.ample dining area. Great facilities and hospitality. Love the family pool and the beach. Check in process took so long due to screening procedure. Only thing that upsetted me was delayed during check in. They should improve this.

The hotel amenities was amazing. However, it was overly crowded. The sound proofing of the hotel is utterly dissatisfied. You could literally hear who is walking in the corridor. The bed was acceptable. However me and my family do have BED BUG sting on the first day. Overall, this resort does not deserve to be rated as 5star.

The best place to be in, especially for families with children. Love the many pools they have, primarily the splash pool. The Adventure Zone is brilliant for kids. Great breakfast choices and ambience. Excellent personalized services at Sigi's Bar and Grill for dinner (though I miss their Paella that they had in the past). Decent room service too and housekeeping ensures that the rooms are very clean. Only issue I had was during check in and check out with rate discrepancies, but these were quickly taken care of by the manager on duty. As a repeat customer, a 3 night stay is insufficient. The next time I'm back, it'll be for a week for certain.

Arrival - Good. Check in at lounge exclusive for Golden Circle Member. Great as usual but no welcome drinks were offered. Room - below expectations. Unreasonably small. Seaview was great. Pool - above expectations. Pool was very clean. Water park for children was amazing. My children really enjoyed it.

Good location. Staff very nice. Crowded. Pools not big enough to support guests. Beach is great with lots of water activities and food and drink nearby. Room is very good but neighbors can be loud. Lots of things for kids to do on-site. Wish the pool were bigger and the food was better quality.

Stayed in their Sea View Executive Suite. It was indeed a perfect view. A little bit outdated rooms but was kept clean. We enjoyed their pool ! Since their beach wasn't the best, we spent majority of the time in the pool. The breakfast spread was disappointing, was mostly tasteless. I'd recommend to go for the rooms without the breakfast option. Easy access to the fast food eateries right opposite the hotel and plenty of seafood selection about 1km away from the hotel.

There is noise from nearby generator or some laundry machine at night. Hair blower is hidden inside the drawer of the desk below the TV. The restaurant didn't refill the buffet breakfast after 10 so the choice is quite limited. Animal protein is mainly chicken and eggs. Fiber and minerals worth mentioning are cherry tomatoes and stir-fried mushrooms. Fruits don't look fresh after 10. No beef, pork or fish. There are beer cans, plastic bottles and rubbish everywhere on the public beach when we arrived but it was cleaned up the next day. Watch out for shards of glasses and wear a slipper.

A great resort for families. The pool is very kid friendly. My 8 year old enjoyed it very much. The food at the breakfast buffet was excellent. Room service was just as good. Staff were extremely warm and friendly. The gym has enough for a decent workout.

Great place for families with kids. The beach is easily accessible , not one of the best beaches but its clean. The kids pool area is a lot of fun with the slides and other activities. Besides having a lot of people , they managed to keep it clean and have lifeguards on alert all the time. We checked in during the long weekend and hence it was crowded but very well managed by the staff. We changed our booking after reaching from a mountain view to a sea view and they very swiftly arranged it for us. We were glad we splurged a little on the sea view room, it was totally worth it.

Drove 5 hours from KL to Penang for family holiday. Arrived Penang around 1230hrs. Register at the hotel, then went for lunch. At 1500hrs, went to the check in counter again. Booked 2 rooms, 1 is ready, another one is not. Had to wait until 1615hrs to get another room ready. World class hospitality!
