Good hotel for visitors working in the city. Breakfast had a good mix of local and Western foods, room was fine and service was prompt. My only complaint is my room was facing the highway and the glass was either thin or the seals were shot as the highway noises were louder than they should have been. My room didn't have a chest of drawers, which would have been nice as I stayed for a week, but not a deal breaker. One bonus was the power outlet worked for US plugs, so I didn't need to use a power adapter.

I recently stayed at the Eastin Hotel, and here’s what I found. The hotel is situated just off the main highway, which means it’s about 15-20 minutes away from Georgetown, where most tourist attractions are located. However, it’s just a short walk to Queensbay Mall, which is a nice convenience. The hotel has a small bar, but I found it to be on the pricey side. The silver lining is that they offer discounts to guests on non-alcoholic items. The rooms are on the smaller and more basic side, especially considering the hefty price tag. Nonetheless, the service provided is reasonable. In addition, the Eastin Hotel also offers spa treatments, which can be a nice way to relax during your stay. Now, let’s talk about breakfast. From a Malaysian perspective, it might not meet expectations. However, they do offer a variety of European options. Unfortunately, the coffee machine seems a bit stingy, with free access limited to just a few hours. It feels a bit frugal in that regard. The Eastin Hotel is conveniently located for shopping at Queensbay Mall and offers spa treatments, but it may not offer the best value for money, especially with the small rooms and limited coffee access. However, the service provided is decent, making it a reasonable choice for some travelers.

The hotel has a good location. It is close to a high-quality shopping mall, restaurants, and pubs and not far away from the industrial park. I had booked a queen bed but it was out when I check-in. So I am staying in a twin beds room. The room is a little tiny but for a single guest should be not a problem. It is clean and housekeeping did a good job every day even you leave the room on the afternoon. You always have a clean and comfortable room when you back. I will like to recommend it to everyone and stay again on my next trip here.

The room is small but functional. I like the idea of complimentary of the soft drinks & nuts, make you feel special. The breakfast buffet is value for money. It is accessible to many restaurants and shopping mall, just a walking distance.

Had a smooth online registration and the details captured were correct. Room was ready by 3pm according to their stated check in time. The reception team was attentive to my needs with the billing . The rooms were very clean, showers and aircon was working fine. Breakfast spread was good and had different specialty cooking on different days. Check out was smooth as well. location is just walking distance to shops, restaurants & Queens Bay Mall. It is also a short drive to eGate and SPICE arena.

The Staff were very helpful and Kind The rooms are nice, the bed is soft but not too soft good water pressure. but took a long time for the warm water to arrive. What needs improving: Room maintenance needs to improve. A number of times the toilet would not flush. requiring multiple repairs. The air-conditioning is not very effective. At the lowest setting, during the day the room got quite warm The bar fridge needed to be exchanges. the first one was not working

Overall, the location is good. There is shopping mall nearby. A lot of food and drink option nearby. Room wise, it is normal. A bit dated. I was told that I am given a king size bed but it was actually a Twin bed. Since I am only there for 2 Night, I do not bother to request to change. The hot water took a long time to heat up on Day 1. Next day, it was ok. 1 of the pillow has a bit of smell. I will continue to choose Eastin as a business hotel since this is most convenient. However, I will not return for personal trip.

Your front counter and housekeeping staff were excellent. I was there during weekdays, so I think they making a chance to deliver great service during the non-peak season. The check-in and check-out process was hassle-free. I clearly understand the use of the gym and pool is limited due to SOP, however, your staff still allow me to use extra time whenever the slot is available. and many more of their considerations and hospitality make me happy. 5 stars for the service. Facility wise, admit that it is a little bit outdated, but as long as the cleanliness is maintained ( no dust or fungus smell) it would be fine.

Good location with many F&B outlets nearby the hotel. Queensbay Mall is within walking distance from the hotel. Attended an event at the hotel Grand Ballroom. Driving into the hotel basement parking ramps between levels is extremely challenging due to the very narrow ramps .The parking fee rate is very expensive too.

My mom and I stayed here for a weekend. Honestly I am so happy with the high quality service. The staff was amazing; from the valet to the check-in to the room service - they were delightful and go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. My mom was unwell when we arrived and the manager on duty Mr. Muhammad Al-Fatah was incredibly helpful. He gave us a room to rest while waiting for our room to be readied. I love travelling and staying at hotels, and I must say that the staff here was the nicest staff i have ever encountered. Congrats Eastin Hotel - your staff deserves the heartiest appreciation.

I have a good stay at your place. I would like to give a shout-out to your staff name Nizam@Ejam for his kindness in helping me with the kids. He is one of the staff at the main door. And to your 2 staff in cleaning our room. I think they are not Malaysian but they are very helpful. Overall I have a nice stay and my kids love it. Definitely will stay again there for leisure purposes.

First visit. Booked the stay on the same day that I have an urgent travel need via phone. Booking is smooth, hassle-free and the lady (wish I can remember her name) is friendly. Reservation confirmation is also fast (within the hour). Place is clean and staff is friendly and welcoming with a smile. Did encounter some minor incidents with the room with regards to the bathroom door and mini fridge. Informed front desk and it is subsequently resolved. Overall, great choice despite no advance search and check done from my side due to urgent travel need.

Kind of disappointed with the room of a 5 stars hotel. 2 incidents,first is a water cooker with a leaking bottom, second was a tower rack fell on my head. Will this was taken care of within reasonable time frame. The towel rack was fixed onto the wall again and wobbled, but the technician said oh look! I put my bag and it wont fall. So, he is in a way quite smart. Well i should not complain because i have a towel rack again right? But the question is how could this happened??? Does thee standard of a 5 stars hotel allows a towel rack that wobbles??? 🤔

This is a really nice hotel. The staff were kind enough to upgrade us to a suite which was lovely. Staff are excellent. Club Lounge serves really nice food, snacks and drinks. Excellent location just a 5 minute walk from the huge Mall. We would definitely recommend a stay.

The services of the staffs here were very good, great attitude & very helpful. Rooms are quite nice & very comfortable beds. The food at the buffet was pretty good, as it offers many different cuisines, variety selection of healthy option food, drink & fruits & also the desserts are amazing as well.

Definitely a business hotel, we had a deluxe seaview room which was not exactly large and had limited storage. Ordered a burger at the bar which took 30 minutes to come, but was quite tasty. Lovely swimming pool but on 3 sun loungers and when we asked reception if towels were provided at the pool they said yes - but they weren't. Great location for shopping at Queen's bay Mall and plenty of restaurants in the area. Biggest gripe - we booked this in advance but found the price would have been 10% less if we had booked on arrival!

Check-in was smooth. Room was comfy and clean. Breakfast was nice, but not a lot of food choices. Overall experience was great. Definitely will consider returning here if I had another chance going to Penang.

I enjoyed staying at your hotel and will definitely continue staying here in future. However I would really hope that you could improve on check in process as the waiting time is too long for us. Your system is too slow and your front desks staffs were not fast enough to handle the guests. Also, your security are not that friendly and not being very helpful in giving the parking spaces for us who drove MPV cars. If they can't handle them, maybe you should provide more private parking spaces for us.

The stay in the hotel was every good. The hotel has a good location accessible to different food outlet if you decide not to eat in the hotel. I had a complain regarding a water leak in near my room toilet (RM 1110). Although the issue was experienced twice, the reception staff were kind enough to accommodate my request for a change in room.

Went for 3 day hotel stay; work meeting/conference in the hotel. Generally, the facilities are good. I just don't like the carpets in the room. Smelly a bit and to the naked eyes, like a bit dirty. I think it needs proper cleaning, i.e. thorough vacuuming with plenty of cleaning liquid. This hotel is narrow; one of the narrowest hotels I've been to...:)

The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Anything you needed including a bed topper to make the bed a little more comfortable was provided. You got two bottles of water a day, and whatever else you took out of the fridge. It was all complimentary, and it was always refilled each day. The breakfast was amazing, you would have to experience it to understand. The food that you could order for dinner was excellent as well, and you were given a discount if staying at the hotel. Stanley, Mukesh, and the entire staff went out of their way to make the entire stay just wonderful. I cannot say enough nice things. I praise God for such a wonderful stay.

A good hotel to stay for business purposes. Located conveniently next to a popular community mall, Queensbay Mall. But its quite a distance away from tourist spots. Lobby is big, clean and bright. Check in process is fast. Room is clean, and comfy. All drinks and snack in the room's bar counter is complimentary, which is a nice touch. Bathroom is quite small but clean and no water stain. Water pressure was good and hot shower was almost instantaneous. Overall, recommended for business traveller!

Definitely will use again. It was very clean and functional, which is exactly what we wanted. Excellent customer service, good location, and some rooms have a great view. One suggestion is to have option of a different pillow, they were quite high and gave me a neck ache.

i am long stay customer at eastin hotel and 1. notice room rate is high since we have project at intel until end of the year 2. front desk promise to change my room from single bed to king bed but it did not happen. 3. the car park is very narrow drive way

When we checked in, the counter staff didn't inform me about parking fee validation (witu special rate)for guests. A bad impression exhibited by so called 5 stars hotel, one star for this. When I exited the first time next morning from parking bay, my touch n go card was charged RM16 instead of RM3, immediately I brought the non communication about validation requirements with the on duty manager in charge (18.11.23 morning). She promised to refund me RM13 if I could provide proof of charge which I did so as told on the next day, sent to her WhatsApp and also provided my bank account information for refund purpose. As of today, not even a courtesy response from the duty manager, even though I called the hotel twice and even spoke to the finance department which promised to relay my message to the manager.Separately, few days ago, I went to the hotel website and emailed my predicaments to the customer service department and till now no response at all. I totally disappointed with this kind of low grade customer service by 5 star hotel. Hope my review will be helpful to those looking for a pleasant stay in this hotel.

My friends and I (a group of ten) had a wonderful experience in your hotel. Every staff we encountered were warm and friendly, starting from the door man, the front desk staff, the maintenance personnels, housekeepers and the F&B staff. Special mentions goes to Standley, the waiter who served us for a few mornings. He was extremely attentive and helpful. I also like to express my appreciation to Angie of front desk who kindly arranged for me to changed to another quieter room after knowing my issue with the noise from the air-conditioning and also allowing late checkout for our group. Kudos to the Team! Well done! Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Overall experience is just ok and not very pleasant. The check-in time took a long time. The staffs are not very friendly or welcoming. The hotel is a little old and the towels are grey and rough. Cleanliness is good. The breakfast spread is very small. We were not expecting this for the price we paid as we had a better experience in another hotel for a similar price.

Maybe the previous visitor didn't flush, n the cleaner isn't available at that time 😕 4. Wide variety of breakfast. Malaysian food, Western, Japanese, you name it! Requested twice but not fix on two stay: 1)USB charger not working. Feedback but not done when back frm outside. 2)earlier stay has Hotel recycle bag which useful but not for second stay. Requested but not done. Still consider minor to me. Major Wld be bed was very itchy on first stay. Second time=ok

We had our wedding dinner at Eastin Penang and we were impressed and satisfied with the overall experience! First, the food was good and we received positive comments from our guests! Second, the crew was amazing, always put on their smiley faces. My guests feel welcomed. Third, the overall ambience was clean and comfortable. So glad to choose Eastin for our wedding day! I absolutely love the staff. During my 3.5 month stay I got very well acquainted with a vast majority of them. They were very respectful and pleasant while simultaneously professional. I plan to go back for a vacation once the covid lockdown has ebbed and I will be staying at the Eastin just to be around the personnel.

This was my third stay at Eastin Penang. The warm and friendly environment and customer service are consistently second to none. We did have one major point of contention. I was travelling on business with a large group of people for this extended trip. We had arranged routine bus transportation to and from the hotel. Our transportation company requested to park the bus on hotel property overnight, but the hotel was unable to accommodate.

We had a very disappointing experience. I surprised My Wife for our Wedding Anniversary but it turned out to be a blunder. We were told when we were checking in that we have to make a reservation to use the pool and this was not communicated to me earlier when I made the booking because if I knew I would have reserved for the pool usage as well. I brought My Wife there so that she can have a relaxing stay and enjoy the hotel facilities mainly and didn’t plan for any outing because that’s what we were looking forward to. So it was very disappointing and I raised my concern to Mr Al Fatah the duty manager and demanded that he make it right for us and he kept saying that he can’t do much and only after demanding again and again he agreed to give us a late check out the following day and a reservation to use the pool from 3-4pm. However it was still disappointing because our Wedding Anniversary was on the day we checked in. I asked Mr Al Fatah that I would like to speak to someone that can make things happen for me but he kept saying that there was no one else around. I am really not happy with what happened and because I was not told earlier that a reservation for swimming pool usage was needed to be done earlier and because of that we couldn’t use the pool on our Anniversary and we were both very disappointed. The confirmation email of the room booking didn’t say that early reservation for the pool usage is needed. If I knew I would have made the reservation much earlier when I booked the room because My Wife’s happiness is very important for me and I always make sure that everything is in order whenever I surprise her, so because of your staffs carelessness of not stating the need of reserving for the pool in the email everything became a disappointment. So I demand Mr Chris Niuh your GM to be made know of this and I want a call from him in 2 days from now, if there’s no call in two days I will call in to speak to him. I really feel its unfair to us as guest to go through this and I am really very unhappy. Your hotel needs to make up to My Wife and I for the mistakes done because it’s really unacceptable for this to happen for a very renowned and famous 4star hotel like Eastin. Looking forward to a call back from your GM. Thank you.

Nice view & very good meal..

As Penang is still under CMCO, activities are limited with low occupancy as expected. Hotel practiced strict SOP, all guests are required to follow strict rules and sanitization. Housekeeping is good, room were clean. Did not dine-in or utilize the gym or swimming, not sure how it was like but reckoned the condition was equally well kept. I am overall happy with my stay on this occasion.

Nice place to stay, you need to booking first for pool usage and got the pool for private just our 1 family for 1 hour. Have gym here, cafe and bar and etc. Not bad place

Comfortable and relaxing. Apart from the bottled drinking water, the complimentary titbit and soft drinks in the fridge came as a pleasant surprise. The button of the overhead showerhead is defective in that it keeps bouncing back. We ended up using only the handheld showerhead. However, my sister and I enjoyed the stay.

The room is ok and nice..just that basement parking is scary for someone with big car..from one floor parking to another floor parking you need to go through small passage

The Eastin is a great choice of stay in Penang offering a high quality of accommodation, F&B, service, friendliness and experience. Highly recommended!

Room is fairly clean. Sheets are clean. Toilet is clean as well. However, I found a new hotel slipper under a bedsheet. Pretty weird. Kinda hard to find the room switches. At night, always can hear some sounds coming from the mechanical door lock from other rooms. Breakfast selection is good, but the waiter/waitress need to be more diligent in cleaning the tables as some parts of tables not wiped at all.

Friendly, helpful, informative and lovely staffs. Comfy beds and pillows. Nice city view (though i preferred sea view but city view was very nice too, i got the 14th floor). A clean hotel inside-out. Very strategically located. Surely will come again. Recommended!

The accommodations at Eastin were pleasant and enjoyable. The staff were very prompt whenever I requested extra items for the room, the facilities worked well and the bed was AMAZING. I enjoyed the breakfast every morning and the staff performance was excellent. Well done! I'd love to return to Eastin if I can.

The staffs are very friendly, but was very disappointed as my initial booking was for 2 single bed but only provided with 1 king bed. Good breakfast but should have add more variety. The location is perfect, as it's near to the bridge n airport.

Clean and cosy room. However water heater took 10-15 minutes to heat up. Gym room is spacious and well maintained. Reservation is required as only 4 person are allowed at the same time.

My family & 1 (3 people) stayed in the duplex suite. It was cosy and quiet. The room is clean and well prepared. The only thing that could be improved will be the blind that covers the window, the plastic rod kept knocking on the wall when we turn on the A.C (the breeze blew towards the blind), we managed to put a towel along the rod to cancel the noise. Beyond that, it was a great experience.

I stayed at Eastin hotel Penang for 2+weeks and it was amazing experience, staff was very cooperative, seamless services and most importantly the Chef and restaurant staff was very caring. Me and my family had some food reservations (vegetarian) and they prepared special dishes for us to make sure family get to eat something good and filling everyday Kudos to whole team.

I visited during covid, so experience does not reflect the full potential of the hotel. Staff cannot be faulted for their friendly helpfulness - especially arranging a quick wash for my travel clothes when arriving a day ahead of my suitcase.

All the staff we talked too are very friendly and helpful. The check in and check out also was very quick. The room was very neatly organized and all the room service / hosuekeeping was very good and fast to response to our needs. The setback was that the breakfast buffet options was abit less for the charged amount. Eastin management should consider providing few more additional variety of foods.

The Eastin is a very nicely appointed hotel, with excellent rooms and facilities. Great hotel gym and pool, and I loved watching the sun rise every morning over the Penang strait. The hotel's location next to the Queensbay Mall was so incredibly convenient, especially for a longer trip. What made the difference for my comfort was the care shown toward my stay by everyone on the staff. Truly every person I interacted with from the front desk, room service, and housekeeping staff were so professional, helpful, thoughtful, and kind. Will definitely look forward to future trips.

Briefly, combination of nicely put room, great foods, hospitable staffs (doorman, front office and waiters at breakfast restaurant deserves special mention) and the location is just great for spending the night after a tiring working trip. The close proximity to a huge mall is also a big plus for the wife/ spouse. Overall, would definitely recommend to others to choose Eastin when in Penang.

I would like to thank your manager Mr Imran (at the front desk) for attending to my request during my family's stay. He managed to secure a bath chair for my elderly dad to use. It relieved my mum and myself of a lot of stress over any potential fall inside the shower. He had also been helpful in attending to my parcel delivery.
