Kopi Hutan

Cafe

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ I recommend to walk the whole way from Upper Station to this cafe (+-1.9km). You will stop few times on cute things that you might miss if u took the buggy. But they also provide FREE Buggy to and from the cafe so... no need to spend 30RM on the normal buggy. People often mention coffee, cafe, walk, good, buggy, nice, free, enjoy, station, ride,

Kopi hutan or jungle coffee. It's a cafe in a jungle. What a nice concept. You can take the buggy or walk for 2km to get up here. To get back, you can get a free ride if you keep the receipt. The cafe is run by aunties and the service is slow. A little patience pays because the jungle vibe is quite awesome. Don't expect too much from the coffee.

The actual monkey cups were RM14 or 20 per person (I forgor). But the small tables had plants in them, and settings as well as the view was really nice. Food was average though. Walking up to the cafe was nice, but it's boring to walk back down the same path, so you'll have to get a shuttle back down (RM5 per person, free if you get one dish for one person, just have to show them the receipt)

its not the destination, but its the journey that makes it special. we were there during a torrential rain. since we are feeling kinda adventurous, we decided to walk to the cafe. it was an easy walk but due to the rain, my son was just annoyed the whole way. lucky for us, there were 1 available table when we reach there. if not for the rain, there are plenty of seats under the trees. after we finished our breakfast, we took the 4wd vehicle down. will come again during better weather.

I really think theyโ€™ve put a lot of effort on the decorations and itโ€™s really great ambient, so relaxing. You can get some desserts, sandwiches, tea and coffee. Remember to keep the receipt, you can take their shuttle back to the main area of Penang Hill.

Excellent cakes, the best I have had in Penang, Bangkok and Singapore. I ordered 3 different cakes but were too excited to take photos before sharing with my friends. 14 of us gave 5 stars after trying the cakes. They are Halal. Need to take a buggy ride at RM20 to get there if you don't want to walk. Buy a cake or drink and show the receipt to get a free pickup ride down the hill.

small coffee shop locate top of the mountain, need some distance by walking. from exist of habitat still take nearly 20 min walk to reach. Good for morning walk but not recommended for family with you g kids to walk free shutter bus available for up and down. food serving is fast. food portion and taste is average. coffee come in its own style. No data or cellular network in this area. environment is nice as it is surrounded by natural. not recommended when holidays, very crowded.

A good place for quick breakfast and photos. For me the Kopi Hutan coffee is overrated for that price.๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Recommended to try their sandwich,it was really good ๐Ÿคค. The customers who came later than us got their meals earlier than us.๐Ÿ™ƒ

Go on a misty morning and enjoy the cool and green environment while sipping your coffee. Super relaxing! Normally it is full during weekends and public holidays. A nice place to chill during cool hours. I like the peaceful and nice 30 minutes walk to the Monkey Cup. After breakfast, take the free ride back to the station.

Take a moment to exhale and enjoy the relaxing haven at the Kopi Hutan(Penang Hill) with its delicious coffee ... sandwiches ... snacks and home-baked cakes. The freshly brewed and finest coffee and bakes sandwichesthat you can relax and enjoy the company of friends covered with greens around. The cafe offers only outdoor seating with a pleasant outlook and surrounded by plants ... flowers .... trees and herbs. Its a nice spot to catch up over a coffee, with breath fresh air. The helpful and kind waitress was ensuring we didnt miss out by repeatedly checking our orders.

I get why is it hyped now. I liked the place, even better if it is not crowded to really enjoy hot coffee in a secluded place. Some things for those who wanna dropby: 1.This cafe is located at penang hill, it means a. you need to hikeeeeee up the steep slopes b. Take a jeep up that cost RM120 per jeep round trip near the botanica garden entrance c. Take a cable car up and down Once u choose the either option, u will reach penang hill. However to reach this cafe, you need to either a. Enjoy a slow 1.8km walk (not steep) to the cafe b. Opt for a buggy service that cost rm30 per buggy. Once u reached the cafe, the cafe has a 4WD service that sends their customer back to the penang hill main area:)) Personally im not a coffee person but my family said it was good. Gotta credit to the atmosphere and environment of the place.

Great atmosphere with pleasant food to enjoy with! It was quite a hike to get here but it was all worth it! The food choices are limited but they are on the cheaper side, surprisingly. We ordered their Kopi Hutan and it was alright. Their sandwich was yummy though. After enjoying a meal there, they will provide you a car to get down to the main place in Bukit Bendera, so don't worry about the way back down!

Have to rode buggy service which cost RM30 one way only to reach kopi hutan, and to go back the owner give a free ride back to the funicular. The food was okay, nice concept but expensive, love the quiche pie. The rest are just okay. Great experience to at least go here once. Nice place to lepak, minum kopi, borak-borak with friends, take aesthetics pictures ๐Ÿคฃ Would rate 4/5

Kopi Hutan really live up to his name. It does served coffee at the middle of the forest. Very tranquil area, breeze and great place to feeling breakfast at forest. To get here you gonna need to get a caddy ride for RM 30 which cover about 2 km from upper hill station or maybe if you wanna take a stroll, walking can get up to 30 minutes long. The coffee here are great, so sosmed worthy and worth the try especially when you are done with your hiking.

It was said that the kopi hutan cafe is located at the monkey cup which is about 2km from the main entrance of the upper station and that there is a free 4X4 truck for pick ups(only for customers) but we decided to opt for the buggy service in order to skip the waiting time. We visited the cafe on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm surprisingly, there is a large crowd and still plenty of seats available after the staff cleared the table. To our dismay, all the cakes were sold out as they didn't anticipate the large crowd on a weekday. So we ordered the coffee and sandwich instead. The coffee tasted normal like any regular coffee to me, only that it comes with a unique and antique flask. The vibe and ambience of the cafe is awesome. (Tip bring mosquito repellent if you can't stand it)

Decent coffee. The place is what made them special. But I got bitten by mosquitoes, not a fan of that. Overall a decent place to laid back and chill, having a cup of coffee and enjoying the nature. Once is enough for me i think. The air is great. Pleasing to the eyes for the scenery. I enjoyed my time there ofc minus the mosquitoes.

love their basil lime cake, so fresh and unique. The cafe actually provide free transport from cable car station to their cafe if spending in their cafe so can avoid walking up the hill which may take around 20+ mins of walking.

A wonderful cafe which can be found on top of Penang Hill. We took a buggy ride or you can choose to walk around 2km to the cafe, where you can see wonderful views along the way. Must try the Kopi Hutan. The cakes are nice too. You can visit the pitcher plants ็Œช็ฌผ่‰ just next to the cafe with entrance fee o RM12. It's a fruitful yet exciting visit where you can see various of pitcher plants there.

Recommended for the coffee, but i felt that the coffee is over rated. The vibe however, is undeniable. Love the openness, quaint little place for u to enjoy some light refreshment. The uncle driving the hilux to n fro is quite friendly.

Enviroment literally so nice cause its far away from city. If youโ€™re coming here just ride the free shuttle from kopi hutan. If not you can pay for buggy ride. The drinks and food is just so so~. I hope there is more things available on the menu.

Great coffee and felt good to have breakfast in nature after a good hike and exploring nature. Heads up cable car is RM12/round trip & buggy is RM50/trip, or walk 30min from top station to reach this place.๐Ÿ’ธ A very chill spot with trees and birds chirping. Sandwich, cakes and other food are all premade, understandable. Coffee on the other hand is Penang OG kopi, the best part is the kettle/jug they used, it has a compartment with charcoal(?) to keep my coffee heated at all times! โ™ฅ๏ธโ˜• If you love to go on a hike at Penang hill, i would definitely recommend to hangout here for your post hike recharge. We walked near 30min from top station to reach here, we however enjoyed the walk. If you dont enjoy long walks, taking the buggy will cost you RM50/trip! Will visit again if i go for a hike, else wont go there just for a meal.

First time drink coffee in the jungle. Natural ambience with birds and insect singing while having breakfast. Can take buggy car or walk 2.5km from Penang Hill to the cafe. You can enjoy the flora a long the road to the cafe. It provide 4 wheel drive back to Penang Hill if you spend in their cafe just show your bill.

We took buggy to get to the shop, RM30 per trip from the upper station. We didn't have to wait long, seats are full most of the time but still, the service is fast so you could get a table in a timely manner. The sandwich is a must try there, so delicious even to this day I crave for it ๐Ÿคค For non coffee drinker don't worry they have drink choices other than coffee There was no WiFi though when we were there, so be prepared to get disconnected from the outside world when being there. It's a double edge sword, you can just enjoy the time there with the company you are with while having good food

We chose to walk from the main station to kopi hutan (+-2km, 30 mins because we stopped to take a photo ๐Ÿ˜‚) U can take buggy to go there (RM30) can share with others. Back to the main station we use 4x4 by kopi hutan (free, just show ur dine in receipt). The sandwich was so good, the used toast bread, RM10 and I was full. The kopi hutan coffee is like usual kopi o. It tastes good to me. The ambience is great, u can feel the cool breeze. Service is good, the staff told us how to order, and told us how to take a great photo of the food ๐Ÿ˜‚

A Nice Experience of Coffee within a Forest. To reach here, we either have to walk or a buggy priced at RM30 per Buggy (Maximum 5 Persons). To get here, take a steep road left side of the main entrance after arriving from Train upper station. The views on the way are all worth it.

The owner is very nice. The place also very nice, in the jungle literally. With birds, butterflies, and flying lemur doing they thing around you while you enjoy your coffee.

There is few dissatisfaction that I find it can be fixed. First, the efficiency of order. The family who came after us got their meal first. Second, pls add more buggy to send customer back. Since, it took to long for us to wait for it, we decided to walk 2 km after we ate.

Very nice and cooling place to have coffee and snacks. It is always crowded as people come and go. Just need to be patient to get your spot. Seating (low cement stools) is not designed for comfort but just for a brief coffee chit chat. Appreciate the surrounding rainforest trees while having coffee. Coffee is tasted okay, nothing special but served hot. Cheese cake and sandwiches are good. Recommended for a different outdoor coffee cafe. I also liked the complimentary 4x4 ride from Kopi Hutan to the funicular station.
