I am quite surprised that previous reviews state this place was clean. It was definitely not our experience. Upon check in, it was quickly evident that the room and bathroom had not been properly cleaned for a while. The bathroom and toilet walls had mould and yellow scrum all over, with bathroom glass doors full of scrum. The shower head had soap stains that could only accumulate if it hadn’t been washed for weeks. The mirrors were all cloudy and the sink had thick toothpaste stains on them. Frankly it was quite disgusting. The bathroom rug was also moist and clearly had not been replaced for a while. Unacceptable hygiene.

Booked for a 3 days 2 nights stay at the attic hotel, and was greeted with disappointment the moment we checked in. Firstly, the hotel’s building had some issues with plumbing, and we were told the water pressure in the room wasn’t strong enough for us to use the bathroom (True enough it wasn’t - we couldn’t even flush the toilet after using it). We were told that this would take a day for them to resolve, however even after 24 hours nothing much changed. Although the hotel did provide a shared emergency bathroom for guests to use as a temporary measure, it was still very inconvenient having to go from the 3rd level to 2nd level each time we needed to use the toilet. We ended up not even showering on our first night in Penang because of this. Secondly, me and my partner had booked for a ‘home consultation’ doctor’s visit as I had food poisoning and needed drips. However, when the doctor and nurses arrived at the hotel, the hotel receptionist (a Malay guy) immediately began to raise his voice at them for no apparent reason. He was rude and kept saying to the nurses “When you go to someone’s house, you should respect it”. His behaviour was so unprofessional and uncalled for, it made me so uncomfortable that I immediately checked out right after, forgoing my last night of stay there. I had to apologise to the nurses for his disgusting behaviour because it was embarrassing. I felt so bad for them for getting shouted for literally just standing in the middle of the lobby because of someone that wanted to show his authoritative side. Although the location of the hotel was great as it was close to the busy night spots, the service of the hotel staff just ruined the entire experience of my stay there. Would defo not return to this hotel when I visit Penang again, and would never recommend for anyone to come stay here!

Receptionist which is a Malay guy i guess was the rudest human being i have ever seen. Saw him raising his voice and screaming to one of the lady customer infront of other customer. No professionalism at all!! Wil not come back to this hotel again, sorry!

It was a mood spoiler when having a stay in this hotel. It was tagged as a 3 star hotel while its price is overpriced as compared to similar rating hotel, get fooled by the extremely good review score of 9.4 in which it does not for such a high pricey room rate! 1. Parking - Definitely u need to use 1-2 hours to get a proper parking place or else your car will get clamped and need to pay for the fine! - Due to difficulty in finding parking, we barely drive out again from the hotel 2. Facilities - Television : This is the first hotel where it not supply any TV in room at all, although it might not be so important - Drinking water : It is basic to supply your guess with bottle drinking water, we are required to walk ourselves to a pantry behind the corridor just to get some plain water! wth and this is a 3 star hotel - Bath shampoo : No at all - Table : there is no any single table in the room! what a shame 3. Room - There is no lobby hence receptionist counter is right beside our room - Noise isolation was so poor and basically u can hear multiple types of voice source at night, ie phone ringing from the receptionist counter, snoring sound of guest besides, karaoke and music playing from the streets around, car hons, table dragging from upstairs and many many more 4. Toilet - The glass is totally transparent and basically what u bath and poo is clearly observed by someone else out there when they brushing tooth/washing hand - The water heater is malfunction and the temperature is not stable and basically when the water is hot, u can use it to boil some eggs. - Toilet bowl flushing system is malfunctioning and the residual from your tummy is clearly float on top of the toilet bowl 5. Cleaniless - Bed : there is some overnight stain on the mattress - Blanket : itchy to use - Pillow : i can see insects climbing around during night sleep time 6. Stuff support: - There is no one in front desk at night

This have a very nice stair entrance, with a rooftop pantry at the back of the hotel. The room is nice and clean which was great but what I didn't like was, the room we were in has this pipe that rattle loudly every night. Making it really hard to sleep. We requested a room change but the reception was lukewarm and really didn't care. We did get the room changed eventually. The first reception was not nice at all. The second night we had a young Indian receptionist who is so much nicer.

I got a room with private bathroom for RM120. Not cheap but not pricey either. If you take into the account the staff friendliness, cleanliness, location-wise my opinion, quite a bargain. It's new hotel, the attention to details, well thought-out. Check out the outdoor lounge through back exit, gorgeous! Coffee-making facility, self-serve of course. Fridge, water dispenser basic kitchen appliances and all.

Nice and cosy place. Clean and comfy. I love the fact that they have a balcony too. It is more of a 1 night stay than a hotel, due to lack of cabinets. But overall it is nice and good decoration.

Amazing hotel Pros: The location is right smack in the center of attraction in Penang. Few minutes away to street food area, bars and restaurants. Price is affordable for a pretty comfortable room. There's a pretty chill "common area" with no view but still amazing to hangout at night. They provide free instant coffee, tea and other condiments. Cons: The last time I stayed, the floor clean but it is sticky. They only give 1 pillow per bed. And you need to climb stairs to the hotel because it's on level 1. Overall I give 4/5 point. Will definitely come back 😊

Pros: strategic location to get local food. Clean and comfy. Cons: My friend felt itchy and gt redness on skin after using the towel. A little bit noisy as the room facing main road. The painting in the room is abit too bright for me.

Great place to stay. Very central. The bathroom is open to the room, so make sure you stay with someone you feel „comfortable“ with… You can basically walk entire Georgetown from here.

I had a great stay at the Attic hotel. The location is perfect; well situated near the main attractions and the rooms were spacious and clean. While we did encounter an issue with a bad smell on arrival the issue was quickly resolved by the attentive staff who replaced the bath mats in the room. Overall, for the price, I would highly recommend the attic hotel for those who want a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

I was accidentally stayed at this hotel. But it was surprisingly good. They upgraded my room and it's beyond my expectation, due to how much I spent :D The room smells so good and spacious. Water heater and Ac works well. It has a balcony, overlooking to Komtar and surrounding area. The location is also a plus point. Close to bus stop and some famous restaurant in Penang. Thank you for the hospitality :)

Just the best Hotel you can hope for in location, friendly and welcoming staff and money value. They gave me a keycard after checkout so I could get my luggage whenever I wanted after checkout. Complimentary water tee coffe and bisquits on a very nice garden balcony. spacious rooms with a interior design. 12/10 recommendation!

Stay in for 4D3N, overall experience is good. Room quite spaces, the basin is outside the washroom (quite convenient) and room is cozy. Easy access to all the popular and famous places and food surrounded. Only parking is an issue if you're driving. Either park at roadside or open car park.

Nice comfy bed, nice balcony overlooking the street. Great service by the check-in staff. Self dining area outside to eat. The room has everything you need and simple check-in/check-out process. Good location in Georgetown a short walk away from the bars/restaurants. Overall a pleasant stay definitely recommend to anyone staying in Penang.

Avoid staying in rooms with balcony facing the front road Lebuh Campbell if your noise tolerance is low. Suspect patrons from bars on same row talked loudly on road sides between 12am to 1am cause nuisance to us. There is also a big piece of metal cover in middle of road that cause loud noise everytime vehicles passed by. Maybe rooms not facing front road is better. Front desk service is below par.

The hotel’s prime location in the city center, right next to the renowned ice cream shop called Hema Hema, is a significant advantage. However, there are a few aspects that I find less appealing. Firstly, the bathroom has a semi-transparent design, with an open top part, which I find inconvenient. the water heater in the room is excessively hot and challenging to adjust. Additionally, the wash basin is situated outside of the bathroom, which is not to my liking. Lastly, there’s a noisy pub across the street that plays loud music and singing until 3 AM, which can be heard clearly from the hotel

Room nice but reception are little bit bad. They dont let me know my room number clearly, Just info me go to the second floor because They already put the key in the room but when i go, have two room like that have the key, so, I take one from them, but after 20min, 1 couple come to Me and tell Me that is their room because They got the form wrote the room number, but i dont have that form. And nobody was there at that time at night. No staff work at that night. For any question we dont know Who we can ask. Please improve

Cool small hotel close to the cool streets of George Town. Staff super friendly and caring. Rooms huge and clean (but not so much natural light). The shared kitchen is like a small garden in the city, loved it.

They false advertise the hotel, I felt cheated by the hotel. I booked a room in Attic but they transferred me to another place that we have to walk at least 300m. I questioned them I thought the hotel I book is Attic but they said the room is in another location which is very weird. After arriving the location they forced me to walk to, it is a very old smelly building and there's a lot of broken stuffs. Firstly the toilet is leaking, shower has no holder, and the paint of the hotel came off frequently, also there's a lot of mosquito and cockroaches. The last and most worrying thing is that there's also bed bugs, my whole body is itching and they didn't even take any responsible and said it was my own problem. Please be aware of this hotel if you are planning to stay. Totally ruined my stay and vacation.

Best location and value for money! The bed is also very comfortable. However, sound insulation is pretty bad, I slept near the front desk and I could hear all the conversations happened in front desk.

I stayed there for 2 nights..the service was really superb!tThe room was clean & neat. The interior is nice..very affordable price. Their service exceeding my expectation👍 Location is strategic..easy access to few famous places (Komtar, Hameediyah Nasi Kandar, Line Clear Nasi Kandar, Roti Bakar Hutton Lane) and you can even stay at room with balcony which view of Komtar building. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Thank you Richard for the nice coffee that I took from your pantry😅

we picked the room with the balcony and luckily we did as the other rooms had no windows. the balcony was a good space and well done with a table and 2 seats and quite a number of plants. the room is well furnished and we didn't mind the sort of open concept of the toilet. however, the room had a "toilet smell" the first time we walked in so we had to air out the room (imagine if we got the room without windows) for awhile before settling in. as we were there for new year's, we had a fantastic view of the fireworks!

Amazing! This hotel is simply amazing. Great value for money, perfect location and hospitable staff that genuinely care about your visit to the amazing George Town and beautiful Malaysia. We had a last minute booking which they made work for us and when restaurants were closed they ordered in for us. A really friendly and welcoming atmosphere in this lovely hotel which I highly recommend. Thank you for making our visit to George Town a memorable and special occasion.
