This temple is situated just beside the sea front along Tanjung Bungah. This is a popular worshiping place for devotees, especially during festival seasons. Parking might be an issue during peak seasons so it is advisable to visit during non peak times. Behind the temple is the new Avatar Secret Garden, a must visit, especially at night, if you happen to be around the area.

No longer the night Avatar view available, so don't come because of that, a small food stall available anyway next to the temple at night

At night, the rope-like-lights attached to the trees will be turned on. This will made it looked like a surreal bioluminiscent world, drawing comparison with the fictional moon Pandora as depicted in James Cameronโ€™s 2009 blockbuster flick โ€˜Avatarโ€™. This has become an attraction for the temple, drawing hundreds of locals and tourists a day. Beside that, there's a beach with a tower beside it for you to take the picture of the beach/sea from a higher angle. But of course, to park here you must pay a parking fee of RM 5.00. But however, if you park and visit Thai Pak Koong Temple in the morning, there's no need to pay the parking fee. I hope this review will help you in planning your trip to visit Penang.

Avatar themed garden. Come yourself to experience it after the sun goes down.

Interesting place, up to the stairs you can see different religions gods. At the end of the street there Isaรญ restaurant and you can have a beer in front of the beach.

Gorgeous lighting setup! Another new place to visit in Penang Island at night time. The feel is like visiting a Avatar planet! While at day time, you can visit the beach, the sand is fine! You can take paranorma view beach photo here with a sunset scene. Definitely worth to visit here if you coming to Penang island. Highly recommended!

There are beach, temple and seafood restaurant. At night time, people called this place as Penang Avatar Secret Garden.Due to colorful and mystical lights draped on tree branches and around tree trunks.

Been frequenting this place for more than 15 years. Recently it's been given a makeover. Neon lights and led lights have turn this place into a tourist attraction. I still miss the quaint quiet temple it used to be with the nearby seafood restaurant offering good food and a good sea view. Now it's noisy and bustling with people. I'm quite sure the owners won't mind. Lol.

Quaint small, historical temple by the sea for the religious and the pilgrims or the tourist. A packet of joss sticks and incense paper costs RM4 if you want to pray. If you make a donation, any amount, they will ring the temple bell for you to show appreciation and maybe announce your good deed to those up there ! Not crowded at all on an ordinary weekday.

We come here when we can, this is the temple of Tua Pek Kong in Hokkien or Tai Pak gong in Cantonese, they are believed to be the forefathers/ancestors that came from China to the south, they were great beings that gave helping hands to other peoples especially those that came from China. There is also the grave of these holy beings. May the spirit of tai Pak gong continue to live on so that Malaysia and south east Asia remain a wonderful place on earth. There is private parking in front of the temple so be prepared to pay rm3 to the uncle. It is nice to walk around the area to enjoy the beautiful seaside near the city.
