🫤 Feel very disappointed. It change to non recycle bowl set. The soup is getting less. I used to like to eat this laksa since I was young. The taste was not same as his mother cook. Feel sad about that People often mention laksa, Laksa, good, teow, taste, sweet, Penang, fried, Assam, char,

Amazing Penang Assam Laksa with Fried Popiah, fast self service counter. But would have prefer the bowl in plastic or glass bowl instead of these paper plates but I guess to cut down on manpower to wash. Parking can be a bit challenging here

Glad to find this kopitiam still opens after 3pm when many have closed. The CharKoayTeow was good and Laksa packed a punch, it was flavorful and tasty. Each cost about RM 7.50, not exactly cheap. Overall a nice place to bring outstation friends for a decent introduction to Penang hawker food.

Very bad taste. Dunno where is the good review come from. I came this shop on 31 July 2022, the asam laksa very watery. Curry mee no taste, couldn't even finish it. The last dish, fried kuey teow can't finish also. I was the planner, very embarrassed to bring my friend here

It's a coffee shop located opposite to Penang Chinese girl school. It houses 4 stalls selling laksa, curry mee, char koay teow and an economy rice. Economy rice starts early, and ends at around 1pm. Didn't get to try it. Tried the laksa, char koay teow and curry mee. Laksa has strong flavour, a lot of fish flakes in there. The only thing I didn't like was they use disposable kitchen wares. Otherwise the taste is pretty good. The char koay teow has a lot of wok hei. Portion is small, but quite generous with the ingredients. Curry mee was good too. It has prawns and a fish ball. Broth is thick and savory.

The spring roll, if you want to go with laksa soup, you need to pay for it. Other stalls gave you free so you can imagine how good their business is, they don't give you free but they charge every drop of it. The laksa is undoubtedly one of the best on the island. The char koay teow too, when you order the char koay teow, you must tell him don't use the same hand to receive the money and also grab the koay teow and prawns, a bit of unhygienic but the fried koay teow is tasty. When you order, tell the owner to fried the koay teow with his heart, don't rush (due to good business) and you will get to taste one of the best fried koay teow in this island.

Laksa here is super good! Broth was flavourful and had plenty of filling/condiments in this bowl. Popiah was nice and complimented the meal as well. Be prepared for a crowd as it’s a popular place. There is a sign indication a 0.50 charge if you don’t order a drink but not sure if that’s enforceable. Anyway we all ordered drinks to support the business.

Great neighbourhood spot for hawker food. The assam laksa, kuih, and char koay teow here are as good as they were decades ago! Highly recommended.

Laksa is a tad too sweet to my liking. And the broth is kinda watery and not thick. Fried kueh teow is bland. No wok hei. Popiah and chai kuey are so so too.

Always trust the local. Two of my top to try list eventually I have them here instead of the famous landmarks. Indeed they are great. Strong spices for the Assam laksa and then the ckt is fried so well, enjoy the duck egg version much 😋

Came here for Laksa - but found the CKT to be nicer... Laksa is good but without adding fish it’s too sweet as it barely has any fish in it. Adding fish has better fishy flavours which is how the Laksa should be without making ppl pay more for it CKT was an absolute surprise - packed with wokhei, amazing ingredients including Chinese waxed sausages, pork lard, large prawns. Love it! A very good Kopitiam to return.

The Asam Laksa was perfectly balanced. Not too spicy by default but can be spiced up on request. Delicious for sure. The chai kuih was the stand out. Went in with no expectations but came out blown away. Went for thirds.

Asam Laksa is good. Have to remember to ask for more spice next time. Bowl is quite small. Line was quite long but the tables cycle quite quickly. Self service for the laksa, but they take your drink order at the table.

I believed it was good laksa before being awarded as a Michelin gourmet. However, they didn’t maintained the quality.

Food quality has dropped unfortunately. Char kuay teow was still ok. But the noodles for assam laksa was over cooked and the gravy was too sweet for me. The spring roll was stale. The food was all served in disposable bowls & utensils.

Personally love this assam laksa very much. The taste of the broth is more towards sweet and watery. The spiciness is perfect. Loved the fried popiah too!

Ordered assam laksa with some fried spring roll and chinese chai kuih. Assam laksa more on sweet side not too sour and spicy, if you looking for a sourly, strong flavour assam laksa this may not up to your expectation. Assam laksa broth looks thick and a lot of fish meat, but when you taste it, the flavour is a bit mild. Same go with thier Penang white curry, not too spicy with mild fragant and flavours. Recommend their fried spring roll and chai kuih. Assam Laksa stall needs to do self-service, after ordered you need to pay and collect your food back to your table. Recommend come here during off peak hours as their parking space really limited, it is a corner shop lot and only allow one way traffic.

The char kueh teow got a lot of “wok hei”. The taste was good and comes with crispy pork lard. The assam laksa is good too. Nothing too special about the spring rolls. So you can skip that. Kuih talam was ok.

Superb Assam Laksa (RM5.50: Small, RM6.50: Big), slightly on the sweet side but very flavourful. The same stall also offers superb Kuih Talam and Chai Kuehm Another stall at the same shop: Char Kueh Tiao (RM7.00: Chicken egg, RM8.00: Duck egg) is superb too where the boss always fried one plate by one plate. very flavourful with wok hey but the prawn isn't nicely cook though (hard and not springy). Currently only open for takeout.

Came from KL, the laksa and spring rolls were delicious. However the CKT was underwhelming and cost as much as some in KL that were better. Overall good experience and would recommend to try.

a corner shop in a row of shops opposite of chinese girl school. very localised. because you will get to sit at the road side. serve laksa, curry mee, economic rice, fried kuey teow, and etc. boleh tahan.

Had a quick bite and ordered assam laksa and some light snacks fried spring roll and chinese kaw chee. This assam laksa more favor to assam which is not curry nor spicy. Overall tasted good as not to sour. Only thing is that they are self-service. Comes in order, pay and collect your order. Heard they earned their Michelin star ⭐.

Asam laksa... More keat if compare with seberang perai laksa. I prefer seberang perai laksa although it is michellin laksa. Maybe it is my problem. The service is fast too. But penang lang grab empty chair and desk very kongbu

If you're looking for an authentic local experience in Penang, look no further! This place has been around for eons, and I've been making repeated visits for more than 10 years. Walk into the quaint little coffeeshop with only a number of stalls and you'll be in for lovely surprise. The laksa and spring rolls that I had are sold by a pair of sisters, it seems. The sisters, though always hard at work, but still never fail to greet their customers with a smile, while serving you a hot bowl of savory laksa. The laksa is sweet, yet savory and spicy all at the same time. This is a lost art of food making in Penang. The Chee cheong fun is being sold by another food vendor. Not too sure if it's handmade or not. However the shrimp paste and chilli goes so well with the rice rolls that you'll be ordering seconds in no time! Do visit this cosy little place when you are in Georgetown.

I personal think that it’s not bad at all. Definitely up to world standard! The based soup is superb, pineapple is sweet, cucumber is crunchy. Worth to try, full 5 stars.

Came here for the laksa, but found myself disappointed with the price and portion. Taste wise its fine, but it lack toppings like vege and fish. Gone were the days where portion was good and the toppings were generous.

Asam Laksa & Fried Poppiah was good! Asam laksa portion was quite small, you definitely need 2 bowls if you're hungry.

The Assam Laksa and CKT are very nice and authentic. The stall owners are very friendly. Except for the owner who selling beverages, the guy was extremely rude and forcing the dine in customers MUST order drinks; if not must pay for RM0.90 each person for not ordering drink, a total day light robbery attitude. Was so ashamed to bring my foreign friends there, anyone who experienced this from the beverage stall owner, strongly recommend to lodge the complaint to Penang City Council and Consumer Affair department.

Comfort food. One of the better laksa in Penang. Soup is better at later part of the day. Spring roll is getting very sweet...

My wife loves the Penang Laksa (Wan Dao Tou Assam Laksa) at this coffee shop. Today we had Assam Laksa (sour and a bit sweet), Curry Mee (broth just plain salty), Char Koay Teow (nice, complex umame taste in absence of chili). We also had spring rolls and kuih talam from Laksa stall.

Good place to eat Char Koay Teow, Curry Mee and Laksa. Just opposite Penang Chinese Girls High School. There was ample amount of Car Park
