😠 Keep pushing for asam pedas fish without telling you the price, end up I have to pay RM192. 10 people yet have to pay RM766. The next door Baba Pang taste so much better. People often mention taste, dishes, Assam, Penang, fish, price, good, nice, CEKI, prawn,

For 2022, I think CEKI is one of the best in Penang. U will not regret for coming here for the food that the boss ladies' recommended dishes. Pro: 1) Food is delicious 2) Relatively fast in deliver their food 3) Nice and clean Cons: 1) Pricey 2) Not enough friendly staffs 3) Limited desserts If u come for the food and nyonya's flavor, CEKI will deliver it well, 9/10. If u come for a great restaurant experience, CEKI will deliver enough and their best, 6 /10. Overall, as a food lover, I will come back for our favourite dishes. Overall experience is 7.5/10. If they have more desserts, we can give them 8/10. Thank you

Simply Delicious! Had an amazing lunch at Ceki Nonya Restaurant, located just a short distance from the E&O Hotel where we stayed. We ordered 5 dishes and all were super delicious and authentic. The food came hot and the service was friendly, prompt and attentive. Loved the décor of the restaurant. The Tau Yu Bak (Braised Pork) was one of the best I've had. It was well cooked, tender and sinfully delicious. The Jiew Hu Char (a Penang specialty) was very tasty especially with the sambal chili. And the star was the Pomfret Assam Pedas. The freshness of the delicate fish was not over-powered by the Assam Pedas. The delicate balance of the Assam Pedas gravy was so good I simply drank it like a soup. The Ayam Buah Keluak (Chicken) was full of flavor as well. And lastly, the Sweet Potato leaves cooked with sweet potatoes in a lemak (coconut) gravy was the first time I've tasted this dish and I love it! The desserts were great too, especially the Bubur Terigu. It was awesome! If you are looking for authentic Penang Nonya (Peranakan) food, I highly recommend CEKI. I've tried several other Nonya Peranakan restaurants in Penang and I must say CEKI is among the best. Prices were very reasonable. Go! You will not be disappointed.

Food taste average compare to beside babaphang. However price is *EXTREMELY* expensive Do note that the review said cheap is few years ago. The menu shown in photo column is OLD price. Imagine nyonya sotong rm48 not include tax Parking limited. Decorations is good

Personally not to the liking of myself and my family - too salty, probably is at the strong taste side and kind of overpriced. Ordered 6dishes + plain rice, no dessert: Assam pedas fish head - price wise, still acceptable but the rempah seems too much making it tasted bitter. Owner responded friendly to my feedback after she went to double confirm the taste, mentioning it was the essence of their rempah, guess it's not suit our tastebuds but the fish was fresh. Nyonya mix Vege - I find it too expensive and real salty. With cabbage, glass noodles, black fungus and mushroom, it costed rm42. Nowadays, Vege seems more costly than poultry ya. Haha. Spring roll - 2 fat and short popiah rolls at rm32, also sort of pricey. Din get to taste it..haha. Inchee kaybin - taste wise, so so, price wise, so so. Tau ewe bak - the pork having quite strong boar taint, guess not all the time I hope. Gravy wise also at the strong taste side, with strong pepper, just nice to go with white plain rice Fried egg with cincaluk - ok, not much comment. Egg can hardly go wrong. Environment wise, nice. Well decorated with antiques internally, so the space kind of narrow. Have a nice garden outside for good photography shots. Good business, friendly staff. I would not recommend it but no harm to have a try because it all depends of personal preferences.

The soy sauce pork is nicely done ! The sotong fried with Chinese radish and mushroom is very authentic nyonya dish. Will definitely come back again ! One of the best nyonya restaurants I ever been. Very authentic home cook style. They take time to prepare and cook. Worth waiting . Price is slightly higher compare to neighbourhood nyonya restaurants but I guess it’s worth the taste and details of the dishes.

while ull read some positive remarks about CEKI. as for my personal experience, it'd definitely rank all time top 3 WORSE EXPERIENCE. and yes if thrs 0.1 star I'd give that. 1. we ordered assam prawn for 5 pax, and it came the infant size assam prawn (definitely weight less than 500gram in total for 5 prawns meaning to say each prawn weight less than 100 gram) cost RM60 2. brought our own tea and they said 'corkage' for hot water is RM35, never in my life I heard such in a restaurant before 3. serve other big table first than ours despite we placed the order way before them (no the other table did not pre order I heard what they order) 4. the staff there are old and slow. as much as I respect the elderly I don't mind repeat my orders to them and b patient. she actually asked me to spell out 1 of the food appeared in the menu. overall taste was not impressive in any sense ( to be fair to them food ain't disgusting , my dissatiatcation was above stated ) price is expensive , poor servicing (yet they charged 10% service), while I suspect they served our assam prawn to the wrong table (portion was bigger) I had to make sure they didn't charge me large portion price while serve me the small one. Good luck to whoever still interested to try thr...a big no to me even its free. I'll stuff my stomach with anything then them.

One of the best in Penang. The pig stomach soup was delicious. Full of ingredients and tasty. Assam prawn was perfectly cooked. So is jiu hu char. Nice deco and good ambience. 3 dishes & 2 plain rice, 1 coffee and 1 dessert Rm160.00. Server was a young local young man, prefer to speak chinese or hokkien. Service was good.

Bello ! Nyonya food seekers ! here have nice delicacies which happen in here CEKI NYONYA FOOD restaurant The food was very traditional and delicious ! 🐟 Assam fish Must to try if u r spicy and sour holic, the spice was well blend and cook with fresh fish meat! 🍗 Ayam Buah Keluak ( Chicken stewd Black Gravy ) Super duper tender chicken meat with amazing taste from buah keluak (a special fruit PANGIUM containing the sole species Pangium edule is a tall tree native to the mangrove swamps of Southeast Asia which can be made edible by fermentation.) MUST TRY! Yet be ready if might be truffle or durian trouble😅😅 🍠 Tetae Lemak( Coconut milk sweet potato leave with sweet potato) Super creamy and fragrant from dried shrimp that can full fill all the tongue! 🍤 Assam Prawn (Prawn cooked Tamarind slice ) Abit dispointed the prawn need to remove the shell and cook with the Asam; yet we ate with shell prawn so the meat not blend with aoma with asam sause 🥩Beef rendang(😍) Super duper tender beef steak cook with Malay style spice RENDANG! To open ur world wide taste bud ! Must try when u vist the restaurant! Remember eat with white rice! Price:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Place:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service:⭐️⭐️(waited to long to serve)

Very happy to have found this place on Google Maps. I rarely eat Nyonya cuisine in Singapore so I can’t vouch for the authenticity but everything was delicious that my family finished every bit of the dishes. Bill came up to about RM 150 (including drinks and 1 dessert) for 4 people. The unassuming jiu hu char is similar to popiah filling but the combination of the veggies in a lettuce wrap with a bit of sambal made it one of my top dishes for the night. The other one is the cincalok pork which I’ve never tried before and it is just great. The pork belly slices were tender and reminded me of the bbq seafood in Singapore/Malaysia that comes with cincalok sauce. Only shortcoming is that the food took way too long to arrive even though there were only 4 tables including us.

Had a delightful dinner with the family here. Distinctly different from nonya dishes we've had in Malacca. Ikan perut when served didn't look appetizing, but once we tried it, we all loved it. Will definitely come back.

The reviews about the “market price” cost of the seafood dishes were to the point, we paid 109 MYR for our Assam Grouper Filet, which I felt was really expensive for Penang, but to be fair it was tasty and the fish was fresh. The Lor Bak was quite good as was the Tau Yew Bak, but the Ayam Buah Keluak was not to our taste. I didn’t finish my Pulut hitam as I felt the coconut milk may not be too fresh. The decoration was nice and the service friendly.

Loved the loh bak, pineapple kelabu, otak, assam prawns (my fav), tau ewe bak, pong teh chicken, ju hoo char and lots of desserts! For 7 pax, our bill came to RM400 plus incl of drinks! Good food with nice taste. Popular joint among locals. But need to be mindful with portions.
