Authentic Japanese cuisine in a comfy albeit slightly dated Japanese restaurant setting. Sashimi is currently limited to Friday and Saturday. The chef is a true blue Japanese gentleman, and has been operating this place for decades. Service is decent and the food tastes spectacular. Highly recommend trying their warm sake! The place is frequented by Japanese patrons so that's clearly a good sign, no?

2 sets (Eel set with miso + salmon donburi and miso + green tea) - 116 RM, The taste is just ok. Salmon donburi is average. The atmosphere is ok and the staff is very delicate and friendly.(5 star) But not the place to visit twice in my opinion.

A well established Japanese restaurant that runs by Japanese people. Get the taste of authentic (in my perception) Japanese food served by veteran Japanese chef provide assorted type of Japanese food in a typical Japanese restaurant/bar environment. The price may be way high but the quality of the food is worth it to spend on. This place is booked in advance thus, reservation are require if you want to get the seat. Service crew are very friendly and helpful. Car park is limited during peak hour.

A secret gem hidden in plain sight, great specials and variety in the menu, very fresh and expertly-prepared dishes. The restaurant itself is an older style, but don't let that distract you from what's on the table.

We had lunch here. Price is cheap for set lunch. Simple lunch. Limited seats. Good and tasty food.

One of the only places I know in Penang island that serves authentic Japanese food, without an outrageous price. The food is prepared by a Japanese chef, which speaks to its authenticity. Good food with reasonable prices, particularly the set lunch. Much better than most chain Japanese restaurants.

Super professional and sweet Japanese boss. The seafood was fresh and warm & cold sake and umeshu were superb. Overall, left the small, cozy restaurant with a nice and memorable experience which is hard to come by these days

Very disappointed! The food is good but always fully booked. They only accept customers that make reservations before hand and do not entertain walk-in customers. Also, they didn’t even accept take away orders. They should instead leave some seats for walk-in customers because this is very disrespectful to walk-in customers who came all the way from Bayan Lepas to Pulau Tikus.

Food was good quality. Some taste fresh like the yellow tail, unagi and sashimi. The seasoned squid was bad feels like it is about to spoil. Price was abit high for the portion of the food. Nothing fancy just simple, pure japanese food.

Real Japanese food cooked by a real Japanese chef. Arguably the most popular among Japanese natives in Penang. Lunch set is especially a bargain! I completely feel like I am back in my home town Tokyo while I eat here…

5 star unagi and don. Reasonable pricing, and the food is good. Recommended if you want to eat Japanese food in Penang and you happen to be in Pulau Tikus. Parking may be a bit tricky though so just a heads up on that. The service is also friendly and warm. No complaints on that aspect.

Amazing food I had, highly recommended. Do book before you go as restaurant space is not huge. Great dishes 1. Clam in sake and butter 2. Unagi set 3. Sashimi (fish of the day, tuna) 4. Seasoned squid 5. Tempura set.

Nothing outstanding , the dishes were good to average. Reservation is recommended. The sashimi was not fresh and average at best. Tempura was greasy and not crispy.

Japanese food here is delicious and the best chicken karaage I ever taste in Penang but unfortunately the another table with one of the children keeps crying and make the noise while we are having our food is like omg because of non stop crying and I feel my heart keep crying as well 😭 Toilet is not convenient to go because it located at upstairs.

The food here is amazing, better than other Japanese restaurants in the area, service is great and so is the ambiance. The food is on the pricey side however it is totally worth the price. Nothing but only good things to say about this place.
